    What do you think aout the RODE NT-1 for use as a content creator, but also when streaming and not really gaming, but doing stuff such as tabletop gaming where you might roll dice sometimes (where you do want to here the sound) and typing on a keyboard at times?

    Hi I want to be able to monitor myself during streaming without broadcasting it on a live stream whilst also having my game audio play through the headset and have desktop/game sound outputted while broadcasting, is there any way to do this with this kit?

    I have the NT1 gen 5 which works great on USBC, but wanted an analog interface as well. Only for me and voice over. So I looked for the best bang for the buck, and being a Rode fanboy, got the AI-1. Love the build quality… kind of like my Mac Mini being one price of aluminium. Now I have a really deep voice and worry about muddiness in lower frequencies, the NT1 fixes a lot of that with the Rode Central tuning. Plugged it into the AI-1 and once I sorted the gain and the midi settings for the HW I was amazed at tone that came out of the mic to the interface to Reaper. Really happy with HW combination. Good review! Thanks!

      hello! I also got a NT1 gen 5 and do you recommand to buy this AI-1 to improve the sound quality? Thank you so much!

      Hi. Rode has done a good job of making the NT1 5th Gen sound pretty equal in USB (digital) and XLR mode (analog). The digital side gives all the APHEX processing in Røde Central and Røde Connect. Made a couple of incorrect conclusions at first… the Central and Connect setting are only preserved in USB mode, not in XLR mode. To get that in XLR mode, you should look at the RodeCaster Duo. I got the the AI-1 in conjunction with a Røde Procaster which is a dynamic mic but I also use it with the NT1 when I want just plain raw, unprocessed audio going into Reaper (testing) or Hindenburg Narrator for voice over. Having said all that.,, the AI-1 is a really nice audio interface and a reasonable price, with 60db of gain, and it is built like a tank. With the NT1 gain is set at about 12 o’clock and it works a treat.

      @@lwinaus8810 Thank you so much! And could you give me some advice on making the choice between 4th nt1 with AI-1 and 5th nt1 since the price of theses two are almost the same. Thank you!

    • @lwinaus8810
      @lwinaus8810 Год назад

      Easy decision…5th Gen has the Dual connect with USB giving all the analog to digital conversion in the mic and allowing to connect directly to a Mac, iPad or pc. 4th Gen is just an XLR MIC.. NO USB connection.

    great review!! i have the same kit and have a question - what do you think about rode switching from the SMR shock mount and metal pop filter to this SM6 setup? is the change drastic or noticable and is the smr mount worth getting for the extra ~$64? thank you in advance :)

    • @GeekyNerdyTechy
      @GeekyNerdyTechy  2 года назад

      Sound-wise it won't make much difference. I have the NT1 with the metal pop filter and it works great although it can smell kind of funny after a few years lol. :)

    if i'm streaming But I use the sound at 11 o'clock to cancel the noise. People who come to watch my stream, they may not be able to hear it. I should fix it I want you to review those mics along with the recording app.

    Can the NT1 fit on that RM2 mount you have there on the other mic. I want to make sure the NT1 can fit with the RM2 mount.

      This is not the right mic for singing into a PA system or similar. It's designed specifically for recording.

      You should get a Rode Procaster mic if you want to cut down on the background noise.

      It's an amazing vocal microphone. It's my go-to for studio music production. This is not a live-performance microphone through a PA system. It's best for recording purposes with headphones etc.

    How suitable is the input for Hi-Z instruments such as guitar?

    • @GeekyNerdyTechy
      @GeekyNerdyTechy  3 года назад

      It doesn't have a Hi-Z button on the front sadly. I didn't test it with a guitar or bass but when I do I'll reply. :)
