In Colorado, all lottery retailers must pay up to $150 winners. I'm pretty sure it's in their contract when they set it up to sell lottery tickets. Tickets up to $599 can be paid at "participating" lottery retailers. Usually a grocery store. Nice wins today!

If you're in Texas, you can always cash inside a brookshires also at the customer service. They've never given me any issues cashing in $500 winners.
To go along with your tip, truck stops can always cash in your larger tickets.
