    I have a 2019 2.0 touring sports which I purchased just 2 weeks ago and I'll find any excuse to drive it, it's such a joy to be in. Full service history. I've read lots of views and opinions about which is the best / more practical engine, the 1.8 or 2.0. In the end its down to your own preference as a driver. I decided for the slight difference in mpg (depending on your driving style) to go for the 2.0 . Better for longer journeys and more reserve kick should I need it. The car is very smooth, quiet, and feels built like the proverbial tank. It's very easy, comfortable and surefooted to drive.
    I see the rather frustrating sat-nav has not been improved for the updated 2023 Corolla. It seems to choose a birdseye view which makes it almost useless when entering complex junctions where you need eye level view for clear helpful guidance. The older sat-nav in my 2012 Skoda was much more intelligently designed and driver friendly. Also If you chose to cancel navigation for example you simply tapped the bottom of the display then tapped 'stop'. On the Corolla there was no obvious way of cancelling part way through a navigated journey. I had to search on a Toyota forum ! You have to go into the menu and press 'pause' ??
    Im having Apple Play retro installed - mine never had it - so I should be able to use the more user friendly Google maps for navigation. Apart from this sat-nav gripe its the best car Ive ever owned, and I look forward to many years of reliable Corolla ownership.

      Same here, bought a 2020 2.0 vagon, the Trek version couple of weeks ago. Was a BIG step up for me! Love it so far, im much more relaxed in this car then I have ever been before in any other car. The power it unleashes is GOOD enough for all normal uses. 0-100 km/h in 8.1 sec,,, not bad! Im new to inbuilt screens but I use android auto now witch is very nice and I use google maps. Is there a better navigation app then google maps ? That does not cost me a kidney ?

    I finally saw a new Corolla wagon. Loved it! I've always been a sport wagon fan. That is the allure of the Venza for me. Although some of the early Venza models had a few issues but just about any 2009 model Toyota (including Scion) does. Probably not every 09 model. I'd say it probably had to do with what plant it was made in and then production codes.

      Interesting info. Its a good car, reliable and for day to day use, just splendid. Keep a light foot on the accelerator though, the engine kicks in easily. Thanks for watching!

    The 1.8 is the one to go for adequate acceleration great fuel economy the best hybrid system on the market its excellent, have had my toyota Corolla touring sports for nearly two years very pleased nice to drive very comfortable great build quality and materials would definitely recomend it

    • @whatcarwhattime

      Yes, I think it's plenty enough. Really is comfortable, has great quality overall and that hybrid system is good. Thanks for watching and congratulations to a good car.

      Just make sure you do a good oil change, preferably every 8k Km/6 months once you reach 100 000 Km. It really reduce the oil consumption issues in the long run, and often avoid oil consumption completely. Many Toyota gasoline engines works fine no issues but will start consume oil if we do 15k km/1 year oil change interval too long. Just oil change and filter changes (including cleaning the HV battery filter on the back seat). Keep the AC on on hot weather, it cool the HV battery too. Just DIY, no need to bother with Relax-warranty that no one ever need in any Toyota hybrid.

    I just ordered a 2 litre hybrid. Delivery time is about 10 weeks for the Excel with glass roof. Having test driven it for 50 miles, it is a great car. I drive for ultimate economy so i expect to achieve 60 mpg. I already get 44 mpg from my Volvo XC40 so it will be achievable with the hybrid car. My Non hybrid supercharged Mercedes SLK will do 39 mpg. Auto gearbox

    You might wanna add wagon in the title for more viewerships.
    It's so much more premium than the U.S models, and we don't get the wagon...

    Never drove a hybrid. Does the hybrid 2.0 motor sound annoy you? Does the sound reach its max on acceleration or does the sound stay high at e.g. 130 km/h? How did you feel the elasticity 80 to 120 km/h compared to a manual transmission car?

    • @whatcarwhattime
      @whatcarwhattime  Год назад +2

      It didn't annoy me, but the CVT-gearbox with that simulated "non-gear-sound" feels a little odd, some might like it some don't. I thought that the car was rather quiet and relaxed in motorway speeds. Electricity felt good in the 2.0, not superstrong but with its added power its just a very OK performance. Only drove it for a couple of hours, would need to dig deeper into it throughout a week or so later.

    Rekommenderar du 2.0 eller 1.8? vilken skulle du köpa själv? Och funderar på vit eller blå färg på bilen... har de några för eller nackdelar?

    • @whatcarwhattime
      @whatcarwhattime  Год назад +2

      1.8 räcker gott. Den blir inte så värst mycket mer sportig med 2.0. Blå färg tycker jag är otroligt snygg och smakfull på denna. Inga direkta nackdelar, går snabbt över på bensin från sin hybrid, man får vara lätt på foten. Men det är så det är. Bra bil. Tack för att du tittar 🌞🙏

    Following our recent purchases we would like to know
    which engine oil type is recommended for the corolla 196hp. Please do not refer me to the garage because opinions are divided there. Can one use the 5W30? Or should one use the toyota oil 0W20 or 0W16?
    with thanks

    Nice car, but I didn't even have the chance to get on the waiting list for an order. The production simply can't keep up and there's very little chance to order the model you like.☹ Funny, you're waiting for a brand new model that gets old by the time you actually receive it, if you are lucky enough to be able to buy it.
