This year, I've challenged myself with month-long capsules for winter, using different color combos. The only common color I have in all my capsules is white/cream. It's been fun exploring my creative side with some different looks! Your channel resonates well with my minimal/shop-less approach. You're young enough to be my daughter, but we are never too old to learn!
You know what? This video showed me that an olive shoe may solve many of my outfit challenges! Black with a nude leg in the winter can be too grounded. Who knew?? Thank you! ❤
Even though I’m fair with dark hair, black is not a great color (neither is pure white) for me. I incorporate charcoal grey and navy as my neutrals (cool brown would work also) and add different shades of blue and berry.😊
Those colors sound perfect! At least you know what you look and feel good in! I feel best in navy, gray and berry colors too. I’m also fair with dark hair.
YASSSSS! Charcoal grey and navy are my neutrals too. Im still learning which cool/mushroom brown and differing blues looks best on me. Fair skin with dark hair, and blue/green eyes.
ouu Alyssa I have this feeling the colours in your wardrobe are going to start changing a lot as you spend more time in Italy. ☺ I love how there's always more to explore with style.
In Michigan fall my most successful experimental color combo was a teal button-down shirt with beige trousers. I hadn't gotten so many complements in years.
À la chocolat looks really great on you Ms. Beltempo! I love the magic that you did with these outfits and colors. I keep picturing a burgundy shoe with that ombre skirt, that's the wild twin in me 😊😅😂
Non-neutral neutrals... My 'neutrals' are sage or olive (I am SO grateful that olive is trending right now, means I can get my hands on some nice things in my autumn/winter colour!) and brown, with cream or ivory rather than white. I am the complete opposite of a minimalist in terms of the sheer amount of clothing I have, but I'm figuring things out... slowly.
Love the brown suit, aqua cardigan, brown boots and bag. Love the olive colour of the shoes also. I’m very much a colour person, choosing monochrome black as a statement “chic” outfit, but often fall into the trap of black “basics” and shoes (versatile, minimal). Thanks for helping me see how I can use other colours in a more elevated way.
Interesting video! Please... I love the chocolate suit. I would also like to see the teal and white sweaters with the chocolate pants sometime. Thank you, Alyssa!.
OMG, Alyssa, these pieces! Each and every combination was absolutely stunning on you. Talk about drop-dead gorgeous 😍 This is why you are the best on YT. This video was so inspirational for me as I love more subtle pops of colour. The beautiful brown suit and ecru off shoulder jumper, ombre skirt with the blue jumper, and the suit pants with the sea foam cardigan were my favourites. Loved this beyond words. Thank you so much. Absolutely brilliant 🤎🤍🧡❤️
My favorites from this video are the chocolate brown suit and the olive shoe or neutral blush colored shoe ...and the teal sweater with the gold/cream skirt and olive shoes....! Those two looks i think are to die for! I appreciate the way you styled them and how the colors you picked complimented each other and flowed nicely in an unexpected way!
Love that! I almost made it a point not to wear black especially in winter when everything is already dark and colorless, and somehow most people switch to the same palette which doesn't help with variety at all 😢
The chocolate suit looks amazing on you! I liked the fact you encouraged the idea of wearing color. Personally, black used to be my favorite until I did my color analysis, three years ago. I turned out to be a summer so black looks pretty harsh on me and washes me off though I am still cool toned, as it belongs to the winter palette. My advice to someone who wants to look always glowy, healthy and variant is to do color analysis and see which shades complement you! Then you can build a cohesive wardrobe where everything matches and looks perfect! Another parameter to look for is the fit, that’s another seminar.
I like this. Thank you. I have a habit of buying black because I also love it. It’s so hard to find other colors that look beautiful together, and you’ve done it! Thank you for giving me a little kick to be more open-minded and brave. XOXO
Great video! I love the golds and browns with the blue colors - blue and earth tones always makes me think of land + sky, or land + water, depending whether the blue is a top or jeans. Also, that chocolate suit was divine. The jacket made me think of Brandon Maxwell, there was a runway look he a few years ago, with a white asymmetrical jacket and jeans that I always meant to copy and forgot about.
Alyssa, every outfit looks good on you. The brown suit is fabulous. I didn’t love the ombré suit but the way you paired the jacket with the denim and the boots was an interesting look. In my opinion the plaid skirt looked better with the shirt tucked in. Thank you for another inspirational video. 🙏🏻
I love navy in winter and I have a great pair of Marks & Spencer aviator blue corduroy trousers which I bought last year and wear with a matching top from Cos in the same colour. Aviator/air force blue and also blue-grey are classy understated colours that you rarely find, so I stock up when I see them, they also look great with black. A similar colour is denim but not in denim fabric, in suede, wool, corduroy, velvet, nubuck, etc. I love chocolate brown and I also adore grey and brown together.
Just yesterday Pinterest called my style "maximalist" just because I had pinned a look with yellow /mustard/ sweater and purple /plum/ jeans 😂 I am a total minimalist, most of the time I don't even accessorize and wear no jewellery 😮 Maybe that colour contrast is considered too much.😮
10 seconds in, me: *GASP - Not wear black???? 😮😆 Actually, I too have been trying to use less of it (it's my favourite), and this supported me on this track, thank you. 😁 And your examples of the tops/skirt combos has intrigued me. Back to my closet to play! Thank you, Alyssa. Have a great week! (Hi from Surrey BC)
Have been waiting for years for navy to come back. It is much easier to pair with colors and looks better than black with my Northern European skin tones. Accessories like scarves & shawls help to offset the black especially as winter gets colder
Fun to see a colour video from you! i made a commitment to not acquire black pieces this year, and it’s helped me make more creative use of colour in my wardrobe. that brown suit is amazing. wasn’t fond of the rest of the styling, and I found the last two outfits with the red skirt kinda bonkers.
I have to add. I went to look for the beautiful gold and ivory ombré skirt. For $300, they could have used silk velvet. This polyester skirt will never biodegrade and will add microplastics to our water system, harming both animals and people. I have a hard time with companies not caring about the end-life of their products. Wish they had done better.
@@demarisb4680 Just a response to your weighing of Price : Quality/Biodegradability. Alyssa explained that these were brands with mainly small volumes. With silk velvet, the ombré skirt may have sold for $800-900.
@@comealongcomealong4480 I agree with you both. I wouldn't buy the poly skirt either, (or even take it if it were given to me for free) but I also wouldn't expect a silk velvet maxi skirt to retail anywhere near $300. I'd imagine the fabric alone could cost that much without considering any other overheads, especially with that ombre effect. I mean if it had to be custom dyed, the price would go even higher.
@sparklie962 Love your posts 😊 The one scenario I can see this polyester ensemble fitting in is 'Frequent Travel, often at short notice'. The breathability of the fabric would be less of an issue in airport/taxi/climate controlled environments. This suit would look the goods (unique, creative), would pack down light and not crease. I imagine that flight attendant uniforms down the years have often been all or partly manmade fabrics for this and other reasons. Stain resistance is one! → Salute to the OG comment for keeping 'Fabric End of Life' science on the table.
What are the colors for winter? Still burgundy, chocolate brown, maroon, concrete grey, winter white, etc? I’ve read that red, emerald, and tangerine will be for spring/sumner? Is that your prediction? Not sure about the last look, I’m not that brave 😂Thanks!
Hi! Love your style and we are close to the same size. I have never purchased from this brand before. Question, I am usually a small but the way the size guide works it looks like I am a medium. Can I ask what size you bought for the Venus Asymmetry Collar Sweater? Thank you!
I love that suit except for the color. I hate brown. Black will always be my go-to neutral. Then again, I am not afraid of bold bright color, so I am probably not the target audience for this video today. I am intrigued by Farbrique though. Thanks for the suggestion.
I have that skirt from Fabrique…and was wondering if.you could suggest another heel color to wear with it. I do not have Olive (probably the only color I don’t have!!) and would like to wear this to a baby shower….and plana on wearing a chasmere ‘off white’ turtleneck. Thank you!
The olive shoes are a great, versatile staple . I like colour that's subtle and nearly neutral, ie browns, olive, navy, rather than black, so I like most of these looks. You fall back on black when you don't have the right shoes etc. Plus, it's always easiest to find and style black items. I'm not a fan of a lot of bright colours. I do like a bit of red. Thanks.
I like colours but I also like to pair them with interesting neutrals rather than black. I actually think I wear black less and less the older I get. Question for you, am i making correct assumption that Fabrique don't ship to Canada? :(
Not to be nitpicky, but blue and yellow/gold are not complementary colours. That would be blue and orange. Enjoyed the video nonetheless, I admire your creativity with your wardrobe!
I’m have to say I really do not like that busy skirt with stripes, also that gold cream suit… I think this is the first time I don’t like your style ideas but I guess it’s good to experiment
I have a Fabrique knit dress in my basket accept, it seems they don’t ship to Canada. I have reached out to Fabrique asking if they ship to Canada but, haven’t gotten an answer.
Omg except for the brown suit ..fabrique outfits not so good lol…ombré yuck, red button down length way to long under that cropped sweater and navy stripes with plaid just plain awful…luv yer style but don’t think any of that was u. Still fun to watch and also good to know that what I don’t care for is just as important as what I love …see yah next time ❤
I usually love your styling but I have to say I didn't like any of the Fabrique items although you did your best to style them. I much prefer what you do with your own wardrobe or Sezane.
For men, I just got a Michael Kors green sweater that I love. It’s very light, but also warm!
OMG - the brown suit looks so amazing!
I love the no-black outfit challenge! Fan of the blue sweater with the gold-cream skirt, which looks like a beautiful oil painting!

Am I the only ne who hasn’t heard of Fabrique till Alyssa? There are some amazing trousers and other pieces!
You know what? This video showed me that an olive shoe may solve many of my outfit challenges! Black with a nude leg in the winter can be too grounded. Who knew?? Thank you! ❤
OMG the brown suit. I can’t even tell you how gorgeous it looks on you. 💜
Could you make a video on outfits with grey hair?
I second the request for colours/outfits for those with grey hair! 🤗
Love the idea of burgundy and olive with brown.
Please do more color videos! These were amazingly inspiring looks!!!
Love the chocolate brown suit! I’d wear it with my Sarah Flint leopard print pumps

I just love the mint green sweater with the brown trousers - effortless chic!
I have a sweater ordered in that color. Will pair with my dark brown flowy trousers. Love that look.
I’m over seeing Fabrique on so many influencers. That said. This selection is the most relatable I’ve seen. You cherry picked them very well.
I was thinking the same thing.
That blue green n gold combo is SWEET ❤
Love the classic look of the brown suit and you looked stunning in it.
In Michigan fall my most successful experimental color combo was a teal button-down shirt with beige trousers. I hadn't gotten so many complements in years.
Please wear chocolate brown more often. Wow. That suit looked AMAZING. 😊
I love this video. It is so different from your usual stuff. You look great in color, you are not a basic b
Thanks!
wow thank you so much Holly!
À la chocolat looks really great on you Ms. Beltempo! I love the magic that you did with these outfits and colors. I keep picturing a burgundy shoe with that ombre skirt, that's the wild twin in me 😊😅😂

Me too. I have more than "internet minimalist" people have in clothing, but i keep them last longer until years

Nice! Chocolate brown and olive is perfect.
Brown suit looked amazing on you!! Keep!!
That brown suit looked scrumptious

I like the teal sweater and gold skirt outfit
I love that too.
It definitely was my favorite!
Absolutely love chocolate brown suit! You have THE BEST content .. keep going 🥂

Love your brown suit! Very rich looking
Love that! I almost made it a point not to wear black especially in winter when everything is already dark and colorless, and somehow most people switch to the same palette which doesn't help with variety at all 😢
Thanks for all the lessons! Strong finish with that last look. Loved it!

i never wear black as a Spring color season and don’t miss it🎉
Your hair looks beautiful. And thanks for doing this video
I absolutely loved the gold and ivory jacket and jean outfit. I am a spring and try not to wear much black, so I appreciate this video.
Loved the suit and the red skirt with tucked in blouse!
I liked the plaid skirt with the boots but i think i would have paired them with the teal sweater and the olive heels!

Complement of gold (yellow) is purple. I think a deep plum would have been stronger than the teal/blue tone.

I am a total minimalist, most of the time I don't even accessorize and wear no jewellery 😮

@janitapanos240 How did Alyssa - based in Toronto - receive her pieces then 🤔
Witch season is that? Spring? Early summer? Fall?Beginning of autumn? Sorry… Christmas is comming… Is it so warm in Canada?
Just asking…
The hombre skirt and blazer were too disruptive to the eye, for me. I loved the suit though!
Next video - full monochromatic looks, no black

Sorry but the last outfit is horrible . Not elegante at all😮
I agree that the last outfit is not elegant, looks too cluttered.
But it's cosy ❤

This has been my wardrobe color scheme for years. I only recently included black :)
