I do feels that this game is great and more people should know about it. Most important is that the price is low and the gameplay also is fun, which it has nice looking miniatures too. I hope more people can back it to let it fulfil it's full potential
Thanks a lot for this review! I was looking forward to it. Currently backing this one, I’m very excited and I’m loving the campaign. The price and the content you get even at the basic pledge is amazing. Very good looking game. And I’m getting those expansions! I agree, this game must be awesome to play at a six player count. This game deserves more love! I recommend visiting the KS page and considering backing it. Great video, as always, Alex. 😁
Finally your review I was curious about your opinion because there are some area control aspect of the game. Plus i definitely agree i like the fact that the turn are fast... I'm curious about 1-2 player because how is structure for sure will give the best with more people on the table

I back this game with the 6 player expansion (for those larger groups reunions) and I'm pretty sure this one will be a hit in my group, about the dragonbonding of the 2 most powerful players, if this ever happen in my group (i don't think so but...) if this happen a easy fix is players with more than 6 power cannot dragonbond, because two 5 power player need 5 more power to win, that seen fare to me.
The 5th & 6th players characters in the expansion can't dragonbond. So the difference between having 5 or 6 players shouldn't matter as long as you have two dragons and two generals
This game looks great fun especially the big miniatures. Sadly I spend all the funds for this month on fields of eternia and got my hide tanned. So I will pass this one.
Alex although I'm a big fan of yours, I really want you to do reviews where you say the game is good but not good enough for your collection. You back every game you review. I know you only review games that you have an interest in but seeing how many games you have, how come you aren't more selective? Even if it's a 4 out of 5, how much game play will it actually get? Sorry if it sounds like I'm being too critical.
That happens all the time...most of my reviews are 3's, and most 3's I don't add to my collection. The problem is most people pay attention to the ones I like and ignore the many that aren't for me :) Just looking through even a fairly recent handful of games I covered and didn't back....Arackhan Wars, Distilled, Volfirion, Sound Box, My Singing Monsters, Forests of Radgost, Final Fusion, Castle Scape, Robot Quest Arena....I can keep going but my point is most games actually don't stay....but people tend to pay more attention to the ones I like :)
Great value for the price of the game, but I don't think it is for me because of a few issues, such as it being so much better at higher player counts.
I have played at 3 player multiple times now dropping the dragonbond mechanic and playing without Faceless (AI players) and we have had a blast. Wheteher it was 2 dragons 1 general or the inverse, both worked very well. I believe both of these will be official variants. It is good enough at that number that we are actually going to try some 2 player at some point. It was fine solo but not my favorite.
It’s not where it really shines... It’s a lot more random and not really strategic, but more of an adapting challenge for the solo player. I’ll definitely try it solo when it arrives, but I agree with Alex when he says that the sweet spot is at 4 players. And 6, with the Legends expansion!
I have played 2 games solo (I think the stream recordings are on my channel). It was better than I expected, but not amazing. I would not personally get it JUST to play solo, but I may play the very occasional solo game of it just to try out certain ideas outside plays with other people. That being said, I'm not a very big solo gamer in the first place, so if you are you may like it better than I. The only game I've played immense amounts of solo of is Mage Knight, though after over 100 solo hours of that I'm kinda tapped out lol. Darkest Night is also better than this solo, but those are the only two better ones I can think of atm. Definitely better though than some other games I have played solo (better than solo Wingspan or Edge of Darkness imo). Hope that helps a bit =)

I've wanted to hear your opinion of this game for some time. Thanks for the video! :D

Great video, as always, Alex. 😁
Base Pledge is Crazy, 2 games for 1, and only fifty bucks
Thanks for the review. I don't think this game is for me, but your video was very helpful in determining that.

When two players bond, they need 15 points to win.
@@TheTestTableGames 5 power x2 player =10, they need 5 more to win, that's what I meant.
Good review!

Interesting, I totally missed that. Thanks!
@@BoardGameCo That expansion also has alternate generals for Allaria and Tyveria
How does teaming up work with 3 players? 2 are allowed to join forces and the one Person has to work on his own then?
Alex which pledge its the best? Im considering the one with Creatures, but does it aport anything?
(I don't know the rules.) Can't it easily be houseruled that the two strongest players cannot successfully dragonbond?
