The epitome of emotion and heart ..... timeless!!!
Focus....⚾
I'm from Houston and love Houston sports, but this was the only time I rooted against the Houston team. Go Bears!
KROCKOHOLICSHTOWN I’m just confused how they were considered the California champs but lost in the first movie lol
You Texans are so annoying! If your not Native American then your not American at all.
@@josephmontoya7730 what's your point have to do with ppl from texas? Lol
Evoke THEY ARE ANNOYING
@@josephmontoya7730 yes I understand. You said that already but what does that have to do with.....nevermind.
good day.
In my humble opinion, the greatest "safe" call in baseball movie history.
Better then Major League? Better then Mr. Baseball? LOL
@@LiveINtheGood53 Oh yeah for sure. The pause between the slide and the ump's safe call...the anticipation on every face...then "SAAAAAAFE!!!" then boom! 1812 Overture. Love it.
@@LiveINtheGood53 I don't believe so. Bob Uecker makes the Major League call so much better. "The Indians win it! The Indians win it! Oh my God, the Indians win it!"
@@saviorself1164 Mr Belvedere disagrees
@@LiveINtheGood53 that slide by Wesley Snipes at the end of Major League was epic :-)

One of the best movie endings of all time. 👍🏻
⚾️👍🏽
I used to watch this everyday on my portable DVD player..that win never got old
The astrodome is the coolest, I'm so glad they made movies about it!
Another in a long list of fine performances by William Devane.
Loved loved loved this movie when I was kid in the 80s
My favorite part of the movie was when Ahmad said "You better back up sucka. I feel good!" LOL, that's too funny.
💪🏻🐻⚾️
then he hit a triple lol
"You feel good, huh?"
Chico's Bail Bonds would be proud! LOL
Did anyone hear any trash cans banging before that last pitch?? LOL
😡
he knew what pitch was coming lol

one of the best epic endings in sports Cinema history, growing up a little Ieaguer I can relate to this :-)

To think Carmen is played by Scott Baio's cousin Jimmy and the ending theme of this game is the War of 1812 Overture. Love and have this flick. I was 3 years old when it came out in 1977
This movie came out when I was 9 years old and lived and breathed LL baseball. This film was my dream.
I'm with you John! I was 10 and loved the Bears!!!
😮I was born a year after this movie
Awesome movie. Astrodome what an icon.
The throw to the plate was high. Chip Roberts had to reach for it, by the time he caught it, Carmen slid under the tag. Excellent call by the umpire.
Weak baserunning and weaker defense altogether. And why would a California team playing against a Texas team be the "home" team ... Home team bats last, always
The Astrodome... as an Astros fan I REALLY miss this stadium... I just hope Houston doesn't destroy it...
“Dear Looper, Ronzonni makes me sick. He can’t even pitch.”
Cmon the game was over time was up and the Toros won….. loved Bob Watson but he had no business interfering the game was over!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Still working in movie 🎦
(Special olympics sports)
great 70's film with a beter ending than the 1st film.
It was all the bigger guys who got it done. Kelly, Tobey, Rudy and Carmine.
Heh, it's Carmen. Some of the smaller guys did things too though. Not just at the plate.
泣いたよ
当時
the catcher for the opposing team was jerry Lawson who was recruited for that part while at South HOUSTON intermeadiate in 1977
i went to school with him and several years ago he passed away around 2009 sometime/R.I.P. JERRY LAWSON
Sad to hear any pics or info on his life
This home run is brought to you by Chicos Bail Bonds
0:45 carmen did the pivot to first base when he got contact
That dot matrix scoreboard is huge!

Chip Roberts an underrated movie heel. :-)
Johnny Lawerence loved Chip Roberts! He has a poster of him in his room growing up!
One of my fav lines was when Jimmy Feldman comes up to pitch Chip yells out Youve got one of the Marx Brothers up here Actually Feldman is played by Brett Marx who is actually related to the Marx Brothers
I wonder if the water fountain is still there. And I wonder whether that was a scripted move, or was he just thirsty?
I've seen Devane in 'Marathon Man' and in 'Yanks' as well as this movie.
I now have a major crush on him.
MY BEST FRIEND IS CARMEN RONZONNI GO JAMES!!! LUV TP
Do you understand how great this is?
if you listen carefully, you can here a trash can bang before carmen hit the ball
I heard a bang sound before that pitch, Carmen knew what was coming 😉
I still like Vic. But William Devane also has a certain something going on. He really appeals to me.
The Astrodome in its heyday in 1977.
Loved the part where they tricked other team with first baseman had the baseball in his mitt with the pitcher faking he had the baseball then got the runner off base for trying to steal second base epic masterpiece movie & lot of little league teams try the same trick play
me too, except that was actually a balk though lol. you can’t step on the rubber without the ball. i was surprised the obvious mistake was kept in the movie.
also the Toros could’ve done the exact same thing to the bears after, but they didn’t
This one was not as good as the first. But the whole game at the end of the movie was so fun. I remember how pumped this last at bat got me as a kid.
I always found it interesting that Carmen was the one to make the winning run in this movie. I thought for sure it would be Tanner or Kelly.
katiemc66 Yeah - I've always thought the same thing. Movie logic would have had Kelly scoring the winning run since he was thrown out in the first movie at the end.
Michael Seay that’s why I don’t get how they’re the California champs
katiemc66: From a storytelling standpoint it made sense to place the burden on Carmen considering that he needed to prove his worth. Kelly was the most athletic and respected member of the team while Tanner was the most devout. Plus to have Kelly as the winning run would’ve taken away from the storyline between him and his father. It had to be Carmen.
@@MrNckissfan Kelly years later signed with the Twins and was Kirby Puckett's back up in center field, but he won 2 rings!
@@MrNckissfan I think Rudi getting a single RBI or sac fly woulda been better as rudi is pretty much a joke of a player. Carmen proved he can pitch when he stops mimicking catfish hunter.
William Devane was in "Bad News Bears 2?" Wow. I'll always remember his performance in "Marathon Man" (1976).
He was also on Knot's Landing and played the president in The Dark Knight Rises too
82 years old.
What a comeback
Anyone notice when Carmen starts his way to home! He's not wearing the yellow undershirt! But when he gets to home! He's wearing it!!!
lol i just noticed that too! also when he was running to third he had the undershirt on
that interesting when he rounds 2nd he has it when he gets to third base he doesn't then he starts for home he has it. so i assume he ran all the bases and home with the undershirt they wrapped the movie but they didn't like something and the next day i think they called just him back for a fast shoot and got him to run from 2nd to 3rd it was a skeleton crew and they didn't catch it. then they put it all together.
@@justinjohnson8551 I say your right! Such a great movie!
@@ronnieparker4311 ronnie!!! two years ago you posted that. i thought you wouldn't be around anymore but here you are. i love this movie .William Devane is 82 can you believe that? take care my friend.
@@justinjohnson8551 I will! You to !
It's a good movie.
Somewhere, Mr. Buttermaker was watching on TV, and very very very proud!
Oh,absolutely!
I'll bet he's good with his hands!
The ending we didn’t get in the original. Too bad they made that third one which wasn’t even close to the first two.
the first one is so much better
How many Marlboro signs in sporting venues do you see still?
How not to run the bases 101
WE WON!!!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😅😅
Hidden ball trick!!!!!
We want a hit!
The 70s were the best ever.
Vic Morrow Chick - Well I suppose, I won’t argue with you there. But for now I’ll just have to stay with my original fantasies. LOL
Let them play!!
1:20
He was safe by a mile....
Now that's how you end a ballgame.
😃👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I don’t know what he says at 1:11 but I can’t stop playing it
For all of his trash talking of the Bears, it was so satisfying to see Chip Roberts lose!
Vic Morrow Chick - Hum……, perhaps I should reserve comment on that….. this is a public post. LOL
He should have thrown Carmen a dipsy doodle would have got him out and the Torros head to Japan.
This all was possible thanks to Houston Astros player Bob Watson (#27) and him saying: LET THEM PLAY!!
00:00-00:03 when you didn’t study for your math test
SAAAAFE!!!
Of course it was the Italian Holla
このカーメン・ロンゾーニ好きだったわ
You said it my friend!! :))))
So is Carmen the only one in history (movies AND real life) to hit a game winning inside the park grand slam home run? Even if he was out they still would've been tied ......
Throwing error gave him 3rd base.
@@mikehammerle928 Yes, very true, it was a double with a 2 base throwing error lol
this is technically a “little league homerun” lol
Runner is out, 1st base coache touched/assisted him. Game over Toros win
We will never know if the Toros could have beaten the Japanese team? Maybe they were a better match up with them haha
Why wasn't the Houston team, who was favorite, the home team IN Houston, and batting last? I guess because it would be less dramatic to throw someone out than get an inside the park home run. lol
In side the park grand slam
actually a triple and an error
WE WANT A HIT.....WE WANT A BONG HIT........WE WANT A HIT.....GET IT
Ring ring ring ring ring
Vic Morrow Chick - Maybe so. But just WHAT pleasure he could bring with those hands. ;)
Vic Morrow Chick - So a major crush on Devane! Hum, so your two timing now. I thought your crush was on someone else who made you knees buckle.
Vic Morrow Chick - No, but maybe I should put it on my to watch list. :)
May Vic rest in peace
3rd film was a shame...
Any one know the song name after he the ump calls safe
1812 overture
One thing I have noticed about Devane is that he has some big-ass hands!
This movie may not have matched the first one, but it was miles ahead of "Here Come the Tigers." That movie is so bad, priests make people watch it for penance. Worth 20,000 Hail Mary's.
Song at 1:30?
Roguemember "Hey Jude" by The Beatles.
Fantomas It's the 1812 Overture by the Russian composer Tchaikovsky.
kinda like 1010 wins

Love this movie but question They lost to the Yankees so how did they end up playing as Winners of the California League?
it was a different season they played in a year after losing to the yankees
