From Cuba to the World - Yuri Romero's Woodcarving

Cuban woodcarving is exceptionally diverse, with a cultural blend of African and Spanish influence. And although containing huge numbers of native precious trees, faced with chronic shortages, Cuban artists have mastered the art of recycling, all materials can be reused and remodeled.
Woodcarver Yuri Romero unveils social issue and shares compassion through his woodcarvings. Yearned to reveal talented artists around the island and broaden their vision, Yuri is also a defender and promoter of the biannual carving event in Havana organized by Asociación Cubana de Artesanos Artistas.
