    It's not scary, it's beautiful.

If I can recall correctly, past Livengood, Dalton Highway is unpaved, all the way to North Slope.
But in winter you can't tell because of the snow.

I can do it as long as there's no deep drop offs. The snow kinds of helps with that acting as a barrier of some sort.

Doing anything in winter requires that you be on the road before daylight! The dark comes fast.

I’ve driven it in mid September with rain and mud and fog. It was miserable . So maybe it’s better in the winter if you have the proper vehicle

Mayank Lahiri, good job of videoing, but what made you start so late in the day, when you could have waited until morning? I'm glad you were able to make it safely to Coldfoot. By the way, did you hear how this "wide spot in the road" got its name? The story told in Milepost says that the gold rush miners 100+ years ago came this way, and many got "cold feet" (lost their nerve/desire) at this point, and turned back.

Andre Bremer it depends on the temperatures, if is above about 10F the roads are slick. The best winter driving is when it is -30 or so. It is about 270 miles from Fairbanks to Coldfoot. I worked along this road for years and the weather never really stopped me travel. I routinely used to drive the whole road in a day. Like him I always had good music going.

Pllm30 there’s only 3 in Fairbanks, Coldfoot, and Deadhorse, the trek from Coldfoot to Deadhorse is 240 miles of no gas station, no medical care, and polar bears. So have fun with that
