Not only that the event also affected Lilo & Stitch's airplane scene into a spaceship, MGS2's Arsenal Gear's crashing to Manhattan being short and RA2's Statue of Liberty being destroyed instead of twin towers by Soviets in the first Allied campaign mission
I get the impression you're unaware that the original teaser for the first Spiderman movie involved him catching a helicopter in a web between the twin towers, which stopped being shown after the attack. Its also speculated that was intended to be a scene in the original movie as well but was cut for the same reason.

The movie also took place in Canada. I was a Canadian teenager at the time of 9/11, and while it was still a big deal, it really didn't have that big an impact on my life. The movie was a pretty accurate depiction of teenage life in Canada during the early 2000's.
Honestly, the impact of 9/11 on Americans, except those living in NYC or DC at the time, is overstated. Most people got on with their lives very quickly afterwards.
@@DDBurnett1 That's what I figured. I know it had a big impact on politics, and travel regulations, and all that. In both America and Canada at least. Muslims suffered increased violence and racism. But on the majority in day to day life nothing changed much. And that would include the characters in this movie.
If you're going to target something for being historically inaccurate of this time period, target something like Friends. lol They lived in New York and the show was airing during 9/11. And no one spoke a word of it. Not that I think that's a problem, I wouldn't expect a show like Friends to tackle something like that, but it's not accurate really. lol
Same!
@Darren MacQueen I actually really like the story behind why Friends never acknowledged the attacks outside of small details in the sets: the production viewed the show as comfort food rather than topical, so they had the show continue as normal to give viewers a break from the turbulent times.

It took me a while to realize at the end that Mei Li’s mom was trying to raise money to rebuild the towers. That is some god-tier editing 😂
Yeah she would’ve needed an Elon Musk type of paying job to get that type of money
The fact that there is a person out there who looked at this movie that is about every girl in a family turning into pandas, and said: "It took place after 9/11 BUT IT ISN'T HISTORICALLY ACCURATE!" Like, I'm betting that idea was the last one on anyone's minds as they watched this movie.
"Hnnng, I give this film a 2 out of 10 because it isn't historically accurate to the times. What I would have done was have everyone traumatised from the horrendous event and show a flashback scene of the victims dying in the initial impact and then later on some of the initial survivors dying from cancers brought on by inhaling the dust cloud when the towers collapsed. Then the family witnesses several instances of racial discrimination including a scene where a Sikh taxi driver is dragged from his cab and graphically beaten to death in front of the main girl's eyes because the attackers thought he was Muslim because of his turban. That would be a great and accurate movie for kids- TRAUMATIC DEATH!" -Mr Enter

Ok, I'll level with Enter a little. 9/11 was a landmark in recent history, especially if you lived in the US at that time, but that doesn't mean every place in the world treat it the same way. I'm from Mexico, I remember where I exactly was when it happened, and it was terrifying. For a few months we were a little on edge, but after a while things went back to normal even though we kept hearing about 9/11 for a LONG after. It just didn't dominated our lives in the same way even if we're neighbours. I'm going to assume it was the same with Canada, and not every media, above all cartoons aimed at kids, are obligated to hammer in all the recent traumatic events of the time they're set in.
Now, maybe The Batman should've also referenced 9/11 since it's sugested Bruce's parents were shot at that year. Although, I prefer to focus in the fan theory that claims they were killed after taking Bruce to see Shrek.
i'm canadian, and while i'm a little too young to actually remember 9/11, i can practically guarantee that most people up here moved on well past the initial shock after at least the first few months after it happened. by 2002 virtually everyone up here wouldn't have 9/11 much on their mind at all. only being reminded by it thanks to american media and news outlets that broadcast up here, as well as people like mr enter lmao
I feel like any form of reference to 9/11 in this would be daft. This is a film with a protagonist who is quite literally able to cause massive property damage, after all.
P.S. Batman losing his parents the night he watched Shrek is comedic genius and 100% my headcanon too regardless of how implausible it may be.

Sir, this movie takes place in a world with magic.
ok HOW DID YOU EDIT THIS! ITS P E R F E C T E D I T
Wow, I don't know what Mr. Enter was expecting after reviewing the movie, but I don't think he was expecting to become a meme.
That was a really good edit job, well done. Good mix of shock humor with substance.
its the fact the movie takes place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada were sure we watched what happened in the states but life went on per usual a little bit after 9/11. it wasn't until 2002 with the SARS outbreak where things changed, Mr. Enter really missed the ball there.
This thumbnail makes me hella uncomfortable. But it had to be done to appease the wise, omnipotent Mr Enter.
@yes what the fuck
@@cicabeot1 just report them, these kinds of bots flood the replies on channels with over a million subs.
The fact that this movie was set a mere 2148 years after the Battle of Pydna and doesn’t even TOUCH on its key role in the Roman conquest of Macedon is a travesty.
Its like the "critic " mr enter could not handle criticism when disabling the comments.
0:10, The Mysterious Mr Enter recanted that review
Should've done that before posting it
@@chistinelane That’s definitionally impossible
Whoever wrote that review is insane.
These sets are absolutely incredible! It's insane how far Dolan has come!
I’m just shocked at how accurate the editing it.
“All entertainment is political”
Mr. Enter: Turning Red is 9/11
“tHaT’s NoT hOw It WoRkS!.!.!”
I like the generic no copyright trailer music for trailers keep it up
I didn't realize the sheer tone-deaf stupidity of Mr.Enter's statement in his review until it was pointed out to me... DAYS after watching it... I somehow managed to listen his whole explanation of how the hell any of what he said made ANY SENSE AT ALL and went "Yep, that checks out" and didn't even give it a second thought.
I feel so embarrassed with myself...
Believe me, even his most loyal fans facepalmed (myself included). At least he always admits when he screws up, but right now....yeah, he had a bad take, and I would be lying if I said that didn't deserve this ridicule.
@@monstercombo007
Hopefully he admits this one is a bad take. Though at this point he's already been clowned on.
@@revolvingworld2676
I mean, I get the point of what he was trying to say (How the world changed after 2001, not the attacks themselves). But he did a terrible job proving the point.
I think he is just one Chemical accident away of becoming a supervillain.
Pretty sure it was a joke. It's entertainment. Why would people care about another person's opinion of a movie.
Unless I just found the Twitter user
Honestly yeah, I used to be the same way when I used to watch him.
My favorite part here is that it only cost 10k to rebuild the towers.
its scary how well this is edited.
I was born 2002. I can't believe my birth wasn't mentioned in the movie. It seriously affected the lives of my parents!
It was, on the calendar
Can’t wait to see how Cars was historically connected to the Brown v. the Board of Education trials
I love how a reviewer was pissed about canadians living in canada not being affected by 9/11 as much, because it's not a canadian tragedy that affected canadians on a day that canadians commemorate annually
its that time of the year again
The way mei just gets a slip that says 9/11 i can't why was this so funny i know its a tragic event but this video is so funny 😂
That Iraqi soldier look kind of funky
The 9/11 lore is crazyyyy
ik its a meme but didnt the movie take place in Canada?
When the biggest historical accuracy concern in Turning Red is whether they had the right kind of Tamagotchis back in 2001
Oh Mr Enter is about to throw another tantrum isn’t he?
He already did. You should've seen that twitter rant he went on
@@bemiatto67 Yeah but this time it’s a big RUclipsr going after him.
