    I used to record years ago on a 4 track and I just got the Tascam DP24. I'm so glad you are doing these videos because I really want to make some new music. I'm waiting on a drum machine and right now just trying to learn the DP24. Thanks for taking the time to help us out. I appreciate the fact that I can search the internet and find information. Back in the day either you learned yourself and read the manual or someone showed you how. There was no internet back then. So, thanks.

      Thank you! I grew up with a Tascam 464, I'd still be using for some stuff but the belt on it broke. I have a replacement but I'm too afraid to fix it myself. The DP24 is a good machine and after a while it'll become second nature what you need to do to record stuff.

      @@MikeFoerster Thanks. After watching your video about the footswitch I went and ordered it. Having it would be a no brainer.

    Thank for the very informative video!
    We recorded two albums (so far) with Joe in Florida (and Michigan) and Craig in Illinois using TASCAM DP-32 recorders and sending SD cards back and forth and adding new parts each time. (We are old school)
    The TASCAM DP recorders not only sound great, they are easy to use!

    Please can you teach me how to assign reverb and delay at the same time in a lead vocal on my Tascam dp32 sd

    • @MikeFoerster
      @MikeFoerster  6 месяцев назад

      Do you want them both to be internal or do you have an external unit for one of those items. I just finished a video on using the internal and external sends which will be coming out next week, but I can work on one which will focus on setting up reverb and delay on vocals using the internal system.

    Another question: i don't understand why all my mixes are so quiet. I normalize, and even use a limiter in audacity, and still i don't get oomph compared to other people's mixes. What do you think?

      Hmmm...you definitely give me some good ones to think about.

    • @MikeFoerster
      @MikeFoerster  Год назад +1

      No, not on these machines. I don't think they have it on any of their digital machines.

    Editing on a DAW is far easier than on the Tascam. But editing on the Tascam is far easier than editing real tape! No razor blade involved!🤣

    Hey bud how's it going? Let me ask you I notice you record a lot of music, are a musician? Do you make music online because I'm a musician make my own music as well trying to see if it's possible to be ya own producer. Let me know something. Thanc

    • @MikeFoerster
      @MikeFoerster  Год назад

      I would say that yes, I am a musician. I don't make a lot of money at it, but I do record, produce and release my own music. I have pretty much produced everything that I've recorded including when I was part of bands. You can do both. If you don't feel comfortable being your own producer, I can give your stuff a listen and give my opinions on it.

    i know why you'd record using one of these. it's old school. but, why in the world would you ever try to edit a take, beyond punching in?

    • @MikeFoerster
      @MikeFoerster  10 месяцев назад +1

      The biggest reason I record on a console like this is because I work on computers all day and when I record, it is my time and I don't want to be in front of a computer again. I've also never liked DAWs. It doesn't feel right when I use one.
