  • A comprehensive guide to building extremely accurate time-delay pull ring fuses for your own tactical smoke grenades. These devices are legal-to-possess federally, however, know your state and local laws and follow them please.

There are two main objectives of this particular series. The first is to build from scratch the ultimate handheld smoke device because it's cool af. The second, and more important, is training. In the event of a lawless zombie apocalypse, or the more likely, long-term/permanant SHTF scenario, through this legal process, you will inevitably pick up the knowledge, skill, and experience to MacGuyver shit that could save your life when the hoards of lib...-imean, marauders come after Week 1. Also, hopefully, looters haven't targeted garden/aquarium supply stores by day 9. Do not do anything stupid and follow all federal, state, and local laws.
    ________________________________________________________________________________________
This video is Volume 2 of a three-volume series and focuses primarily on the building of a time-dead lignition system and how to make, integrate, and use it.
    Volume I:
Part 1: Raw Chemistry (From Scratch)
Part 2: Building the Igniters (this part also serves as the instructions for the igniter kit I have for sale at InventionIncarnate.com)
Part 3: How to integrate the igniters into legal smoke devices
Volume 2 (this video): How to make extremely accurate time delay fuses
Volume 3: Putting it all together and creating the ultimate screen obscuration device using TPA (Terepthalic Acid) for lowest toxicity and lingering.
If you've perused my channel you can clearly see that I love smoke devices and subsequently have seen a lot of them. I'm telling you that I've never seen anything compare to the TPA device that is the final product of this video series. It puts my first smoke video: DIY High Performance Smoke Grenade to absolute shame. Like put my hands over my face, look down and briskly walk away shame.
**If you DON'T feel like doing chemistry:
I sell a 50 count pull-ignition kit for $40 TOTAL (free shipping, with fuels and oxidizers separated to avoid HAZ-MAT Shipping ) on my website www.InventionIncarnate.com all profit goes towards my channel. And yes it's via Venmo because I'm not paying 6% credit card fees when my total profit per kit is $7. I live in a van down by the river, just trust me.
A similar Igniter kit with 100 count can be purchased for APPROX $79.27 ($49.99 PLUS insane HAZ-MAT Shipping) at Skylighter.com, however, they are constantly sold out.
    ____________________________________________________________________________________
**If you DO feel like doing chemistry (or want to steal my invention that I stole fair and square from someone else) here's the formula:
To make approx 100 of these igniters you will want a total dry mass of 14g for the powdered ignition mixture, and a total dry mass of approx. 3g for the powdered striker mixture. All ingredients should be fine powders before mixing.
TEST 2-3 OF THESE IGNITERS AT A TIME BEFORE MAKING THE WHOLE BATCH. I'D RECOMMEND NOT ADDING ALL OF THE POTASSIUM CHLORATE AT ONCE BECAUSE YOU WANT TO KEEP THE IGNITION REACTION MILD-MODERATE NOT CRAZY. FILL CUPS TO 40% DO NOT OVER-FILL. I LIKE TO USE A CHEAP PAINTBRUSH TO JUST BRUSH THE CUPS. IF the igniters aren't working, it is because they aren't dry.
    The Ignition Mixture Ratio:
    Potassium Chlorate: 56.2%
    Antimony Trisulfide: 24.6%
    Sulfer: 9%
    Ground Glass: 10.2%
Magnesium Carbonate: Add 1% of whatever total mass you mix
    The Striker Mixture Ratio:
    Red Phosphorus: 33%
    Ground Glass: 33%
    Sulfer: 33%
Add clear PVA glue (Elmers school glue) to the respective consistencies:
Ignition Mixture: Just thicker than pancake batter.
Striker Mixture: Just thinner than pancake batter.
Please leave comment on your experience, for the algorithm and my feedback
Skylighter.com sent me the Antimony Trisulfide and 1/4" Chinese time fuse for these videos.
Here's the link for the 1/4" Chinese Time Fuse: www.skylighter.com/products/c...

Great video. I've been doing pyro/fireworks and rockets for years and I still learned a lot from you!
One thing you can use rather than glue in places is NC lacquer or nc lacquer mixed with fine black powder. Paint it on where you want glue and easy ignition.
Maybe a roll or two of water activated tape to attach and seal things from time to time.
These tutorials are excellent. You did a wonderful job on them. Thanks!

You can also get a spring that has a large diameter wire and cut them for your ring pulls. Used to work in a spring shop and that's how you get your key rings

There is a formula for a gasless combustion it uses tungsten powder and potassium dichromate I believe. I can look it up for you if you want. It's the same stuff they use in military grenades. It prevents the gases from going down into the Detonator and setting it off prematurely which would really suck for the person holding the grenade period LOL

Yess. A goldshmidt reaction delay would be the most professional/reliable version, and can even work under water. But ordering the specific chemicals involved seems a bit sketch

If you look around online you can find training grenade fuses that are used as surplus. I’ve always thought that reloading those with a primer and some time fuse, or even 3d printing a similar assembly would be pretty awesome for smoke devices.

I would recommend buying a couple as templates to make your own. A lot of the ones you get on the market these days are pretty sketchy quality.

@@timturner7609 The fuses I’m referring to are fired military surplus that can be reloaded. I wouldn’t recommend that route to many people but Invention Incarnate clearly has the skills to do it. The cool thing about doing it yourself is you can either use your own length of time fuse or visco with packing around it. This way you can be absolutely sure about the delay, none of the 3-5 seconds crap.

Brand or type of glue for your primer mixture? I'm not having luck with 50/50 Potass Nitrate and sugar. Just kind of gums up and doesn't dry.

    • @InventionIncarnate
      @InventionIncarnate  Месяц назад +1

I believe The 50/50 potassium nitrate/ sugar has to be used dry without a binder. But for the record I use Elmer’s Clear School glue (slow dry) or 12% nitrocellulose lacquer (fast dry)
