I'm gonna be building my first PC soon (upgrading from a Lenovo Legion with 2070 from a few years ago) so I'm probably gonna go with a 7700x, just cause I want something that can last me a couple years and stay upgradeable. Planning on building it with the new 7900 xtx graphics card if all the benchmarks look good. Since I don't mind waiting a few months to have the complete setup I'm just gonna try to get parts for it as they go on sale. Recently bought the 980 pro 2tb storage cause I saw the sale thanks to you. Please keep up the great vids

Hey just wanted to let you know that bios flashback isn't really a requirement for AMD motherboards because if you have access to any computer at all, even the library, you can download a bios onto a flash drive and then when you post just flash the bios. You don't technically even need a CPU to do it either. I just finished a build the other day with an Asrock B550m Steel legend that I got for 100 bucks on sale and went through the process myself and it's super easy.
TLDR: you don't have to limit the motherboards you recommend to one's that have a bios flashback button.

I like 5800X3D but im going with 13600K DDR4, platform cost 70€ more, but has better RAM OC potential, later upgrade possibility and perform much better in competitive 1080p. Thats important for me. AM4 has an insane platform cost.

Your guild leader is lucky to have you as a member. Great vid! While I was highly considering starting a 5800X3D build from scratch, considering my local Micro Center is throwing in DDR5 memory for free with a 7700X and $50 off a compatible motherboard, it seems silly not to take advantage of that offer.

I built this exact system 4 months ago after 2 months of research much of it from this channel. I went with the Ryzen 5800X3D, 32 gigs (4x 8GB) of Vengence Ram and the Asus ROG Strix B550-F Gaming WiFi II board, and the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming OC 12G Graphics Card. (Note on my GPU card, At the time I purchased it was under $800 today it's $1380 on Amazon) I did use 1 SAMSUNG 980 PRO SSD 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe for the C Drive and a Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD 1TB NVMe M.2 in 2 TB for my secondary (This board has 2 M.2 slots slots "ONLY 1" is 4.0) and I set up x2 WD Black 2 TB HD in a Raid as my system backup. I added a few things not here but I paid about $2,400 (with my bells and whistles) in total. I did buy everything from Amazon and used the $200 off option and got the Amazon Credit Card in the process. (Note: Paid it off already as I had cash). Issues: not mentioned, I had to buy a PCIe x1 to 19 Pin USB 3.0 Header for a second header because this board only has one. If you get this system buy one when you order it was $24 and you will thank me later. Also, there is a loss of 5&6 SATA ports when using the second PCI-E slot. (ROG dropped the ball here) The loss of 2 of the 6 played no issue at all in my build but is worth noting.

Streaming as far as I've experienced has caused a good bit of performance loss especially when paired with vtubing or just extra interactive software and would love to be able to possibly compensate for that loss with more details. Great video. Im almost positive you can get the build to under $1500 if you pick up a used 3080 and a 5800X for $199 from Microcenter. I know the X3D is a bunch faster, but for almost 2x the price? I don't know if thats worth it. If you are playing at 4k, I don't really see the standard 5800X being too big of a bottleneck. If it is, then the 13600k at $280 is the better deal.

@@PCBuilderChannel Absolutely a good choice 👌. The 13600k is the strongest i5 CPU ever made. The only downside I guess is the limited upgrade path. Your only real viable upgrade is moving up to a 13700k. The best platform right now that has any kind of future is AM5. If I were building out a new platform from scratch, it would have to be an AM5 based build, probably with a 7600X or 7700X, depending on the Black Friday prices. Hey Jason, I know this is a lot to ask, because you already make so many good and informative videos, but right now I believe there is an opportunity to build a $600-$750 pc with used parts that has unparalleled performance and value. Do you think you might be able to make a video centered on just Ebay used parts that everyone has access to? Newegg and Amazon + Amazon warehouse and Antonline can also be included for super good deals on new parts, but CPU and GPU should be bought on eBay so most people can deal hunt and succeed in putting together a great value for money pc with used parts included in the build. For example, 2060 super on ebay is $200, 2070 $225 and 2070 Super $275ish. AMD is even better. 5700XT $160-$170. The 5600x and 5600 are almost $100 new, so used can be under $100. Its insane. I just don't remember there being a better time in many years to build a 1440p 165hz capable computer for AAA gaming for this little money. You could get so much even with a $500 budget for 1080p, and still do high frame rate 1440p with DLSS enabled. I'm super impressed by the performance of the newest releases in hardware, but I think the real winners are going to be the people that spend as little as possible and still get an RTX + DLSS graphics card and a very modern, high frame rate capable machine for very little money, like $500-$750, and can still get good settings and frame rates and features with graphics cards that were very strong in 2019 like the 2060 Super/2070 super/2080 and say a 5600 or 5600x/5700x depending on what you decide your ultimate budgets will be.

As someone who has an expensive x570 board (ASUS Dark Hero) and went from the 5800X to the 5800X3D, you don't need to overpay on the board because you can't overclock the 5800X3D, I've tried. If overclocking is your goal, the rule is you should get an enthusiast board that has better components to achive that but you can't overclock the 5800X3D. For gaming, the 5800X3D performs at stock better than the 5800X with PBO2. Now I don't know if my 64GB (16x4) Dominator 3600 CL18 can run at 4000 CL18 with FCLK set at 2000 because of the board, and I'd say probably not and you could say that I shouldn't get any better performance but I like the coolness factor. Really, I didn't want an X570 board with a fan which the Dark Hero does not have. I'd say shift your budget to a 5800X3D, save money with a good B550 or cheap X570 that is still good and decent RAM.

    • @GiSWiG
      @GiSWiG Год назад +1

@@Querilio Depends on your GPU. Hardware Canucks (sp?) said a 3070 Ti at 1440p wouldn't really benefit. Well, I still have screenshots of HZD going from 112fps to 138fps. SotTR, 10-ish better but still a plus. I'm sure there are some that won't but I doubt the 5800X3D would perform worse. Really, look at some of the 7950X reviews that compare to the 5800X3D and they are neck and neck. Problem is that most benchmarks large RUclipsrs do is 3090 Ti/4090 at 1080p. That is just unrealistic. With that card, you either want 4K or super smooth, high refresh 1440p. Gamers Nexus and Hardware Unboxed do some 1440p benchmarking. I actually was going to get the 5950X over the 5900X but many benchmarks put the 5800X3D above both. I just plan on gaming so 5800X3D is best for me. I also did a little retro gaming and the best way to make a 500MHz processor run like a 100MHz, was to disable the cache. The 5800X3D adds more cache which definitely will help in gaming. Cool overclocking. Its something I just don't do anymore, a lot of work, never really got results that mattered much, though there were some awesome ones. With how CPUs now just run as fast as possible w/o exceeding a thermal limit, I'll invest in better cooling and a nice mobo that will eventually sell higher than others used. Highend ASUS boards seem to do the best. Also, the highest end CPU for a socket does well too. My Phenom II X6 1100T is still worth a good bit, especially buying it used. I never OC'd it but I unlocked the turbo to let all six cores run at 3.7GHz. Otherwise, it would only turbo to 3.7 for up to a max of 3. When it did that, it would run all cores at 3.4GHz. Again, the best cooling kept that stable for a few years with the fastest DDR3 ram (1333 @ 6-6-6-18).

Late reaction, but I too use the 5800X3D, and like you, I play world of warcraft, and honestly, ever since I am using it, the loading times are insanely fast, even when booting the game up for the first time. First time logging in, takes maybe 9 seconds at most. Later loadingscreens take maybe half of that time or even less, so I am really happy with it. For motherboard, I decided to go with an Asus Prime X570-P because it was only 20 euros more expensive than one of the B550 motherboards where I live. GPU I put in a RTX 3090Ti , so Im definetly good for atleast as long as my old pc again ( like five years, perhaps more). Im honestly really glad this CPU came out as it allowed me to do 4k gaming while keeping the prices a bit lower, instead of going with DDR5 memory.

For my RTX 3060 ti a 13600k or 7700X or 5800x3d won't be giving too much fps compared to a 5700X. Getting a good 60fps 1080p on Cyberpunk on max RT with DLSS quality and 48 to 50fps in 4K with DLSS ultra performance . Shadow of the tomb raider hitting 160 fps on highest graphics at 1080p and 50fps on 4K with some DLSS. Blender is also loving the faster CPU. Hope my 5 year old B350 will hangon for another 1 or 2 years when the DDR5 platforms will become a lot more affordable and then I can think of upgrading. Thanks Jason for the videos ❤️

FPS are stable now not as before and the peaks are higher and the lows are also higher. I am waiting for the RX 7900xtx at the moment. Nvidia is very expensive here in germany and i only have one RT Game... Shadof of the Tombraider. Playing on Ultrawide 3440x1440p

Nice combo, specially look, black and white with some RGB bling, and price is really good. It is possible to reduce some price if you go with none RGB, air cooler and cheaper case and maybe with AMD video card, bur M.2 is must. If you are looking for a case, buy with installed fans.

The 500X3D is really appealing but I'm not really comfortable upgrading into an end of life platform, the 7700X is also substancially faster for compilation which is kind of a big deal for me so I'm saving and gonna be paying the premium for one of those eventually

Also a good choice! Going to be putting out a 7700X guide soon (:

I played the original Wow for 10 years, from the first bêta & bêta stress test in 2003/2004. I didn't know it was still popular.
