Hi. Me being nothing of a pro, reaching inlines late in mid life, have tried Roxa X-treme, nice boots, had them for a year now, so happy. Just now got these HLV2 Black Sebas 80 need plenty of mentality to get used to such grip, higher distance from the ground even wearing 80mm wheels, but deceived being back with my Roxa looking forward to find out extra motivation to wear these Seba HL80... Quality materials, assembly, almost everything fine with them. May need help from people than have changed to them and have required some adaptation. Nice video, straight into the matter, good. Subscribed. Sorry for my English, not anglo born.
I can’t say about the Seba Carbon skates. All my carbons are Powerslide or Atom. It’s not that they’re “uncomfortable” so much as they don’t handle impact as well. When the road is rough or I’m jumping a lot, leg and foot fatigue sets in faster.

This was great for me. I have been contemplating getting a higher end carbon (or something similar) skate as I have a modest collection of skates but they are all a decent level plastic boot skate usually in the $200 range. Your comments about the lack of comfort in a high end carbon skate makes me think something like this would be better for me. I have been thinking about the Powerslide hockey skates but am now thinking a Powerslide Kaze might be better on the comfort side but still give higher performance than a plastic shell boot. I'm not ready to pull the trigger on a really high end skate like the Hardcore Evo. Maybe I'll see if I can get some of these Seba High Lights if they have my size. Thanks!
Absolutely understand. We are talking all expensive skates no matter what direction you go. I bought the Hardcor Evo and regretted it because my right foot is a little to wide for the last they use. I never use them.. wish I’d got this one in the first place, and it’s the cheaper of the two.
@@DeezSkates Oh, that sucks about your Evos. I hope they continue to break in a bit over time for you. I imagine you have the thinnest socks possible to try and make them work. Or maybe you are skating barefoot like some of the NHL players do but that seems like it would be asking for blisters to me! Thanks for the great content and keep up the good work!

Im trying to break in a pair of carbon skates right now and I think its worth it if you have the time, money and an extra pair of comfortable skates :)
@@joynez1 Good point about having a back-up more comfortable pair to use during a break-in period of a tighter fitting and less forgiving high-end pair. Good luck with the Taus! Doesn't seem like you can get much higher end than those! Enjoy.
Hey man, just wanted to say thanks for the review! I ended up grabbing both the plastic HL and carbon HL off clearance on Proskaterplace. I'm in my early 30's and have had my share of leg/foot issues, so your comment about that made me just get both pairs and figure to keep the one that feels best. I've never had a carbon boot so my curiosity got the best of me, I really want to be able to do the cool dancy stuff that you do. Any update on your HL's or further advice/tips? Been loving discovering your videos btw, has really helped me a lot getting back into blading.
Hi Mike! Thanks for the comment! I still use the High Light for lots of city skating, but my carbon Hardcore Evos are my go to for dancing and are still amazing for the city! Both are great skates though, so carbon vs plastic shell is really up to personal preference. Just go with the one you prefer after you try them on and I’m sure you’ll be happy. 😁

I wanted to ask you a question about the Seba High Lights after coming across your review, you also own as I was thinking about purchasing them from Proskatersplace as well with the same endless frame set up. It just happens you own the set up I was thinking about. I was just a bit confused or unsure about the sizing i may want to go for (as it also determines the color I may end up going with due to the available stock, cost and sizing) I was wondering what was your experience choosing the size of your Seba HL, your experience in combination with the endless 90s... Thanks!
Hi Van, in terms of sizing I normally recommend that you contact the shop for those questions. They’re far more equipped to help with this sort of thing. I can say that I chose the same size as my usual Powerslide sizing and it fit well. The Sebas are wider in the toe box area, but how wide I can’t say because the companies do not disclose the last they make them on.
@@DeezSkates Thanks. My foot is 26.3cm i have FR1 size 41 and it's great. EVO 2017 in size 41 was a bit too small - the same PS TAU 2017 41 was too small. I am betwen L an EVO - i have to buy something now. I can not try them before. Seba Trix size 41 was a bit too large i think
My foot is 26.5cm so we are right in the same size range. I would not get the Evo in size 41. I would go for 42 if I had another shot at buying them. Same for the High Light. 42 is a great fit.

Now that you've presumably had more time to break the liners in, how is the fit? I'm interested in FR's newer offerings, but I'm a funky size (US Men's 9.5, which is right in between EU sizes 42-43), and I've read that it would be better to order the smaller size and just deal with the snugness until the liner breaks in properly. All I've skated in are K2s which are true to US sizes, and fit great right out of the box. I love my Midtowns and Unnaturals, and I love the comfort of the soft-boot, but I'd love to try a hardshell with a 165mm frame-mount.
I would always measure my feet and compare that to the sizing chart when ordering online. I will say, I have the FRX (for 4-5 years now) and it was very snug at first. When the liner broke in it was perfect.
I know what you mean about the carbon. In getting my hockey skates snug enough to get performance, they can get pretty uncomfortable. I'll usually skate in 2 or 3 half hour or 40 minute mini-sessions, taking them off in between to let my feet relax. I'd definitely have to duct tape the crap out of those, or I'd grind them to dust in no time.
@@DeezSkates Tour Code2s. They're the 2nd tier model, after Code1s. 80mms all around, and I like 80-82 hardness for the almost smooth concrete I usually skate on. Any harder and they get slidey in the corners, but 78s definitely feel sluggish. I'll tell you one issue I have now: not being able to skate often enough due to weather. All of those little tendons and muscles in my feet have to be retrained when I'm off of them for a couple of weeks. I really need to start taking them to the basement and just put them on for a little while every few days.
Myles, I have never seen a rockered 125mm frame before. The largest I know of the is the Powerslide Katana frame, which can be found in 4x80, 3x90, and 3x100.
Sounds right. I had to research this, but Seba has an article on their website from October 2020 that showcases the Highlight 80, so it looks like that’s the newest version of the Highlight.
Favorite skates for free riding? Hmm.. I assume you mean like just cruising through the city. Nothing fancy? I have Powerslide Megacruisers for that! ;)

Can you comment on the fit of the Seba High compared to the Powerslide Evo Pro? I have a size 41 Tau and am trying to figure out whether I should go with a 41 in the Seba or a 42.
kenliu1 I have a size 42 Evo and size 42 Seba High Light. I would not change the size of either. The Evo is a bit more narrow, but ultimately, they are a similar fit. I would not go up a size for Seba, as their boots are notoriously wider than Powerslide.

I have no experience with any Seba high models other than the pair reviewed here. I’m not sure on the pricing of these models anymore either. They change with time and this review is becoming dated at this point.

My Evo is European size 41. High Light size 42. It was recommended to go up one size for Seba. Glad I did.

They’re heavier, but a bit more forgiving on rough surfaces. Overall they’re both great skates though. I skate my Evos a lot more of that helps.

A bit more width wouldn't hurt in the summer, my Tau's get a bit snug when it is hot out.
How much is your Seba High Light David?
I honestly don’t remember. They were on clearance. Most places only have the V2 or the carbon models now.
