Thank you for posting this video. Your how to video got me through an auger pin replacement by myself while my husband was out of town. Our grill is working again and all is good. No interruption of great food. The trouble shooting guide in my Camp Chef manual led me to the auger pin, but I was left hanging once it came to disassembly. Camp Chef should pay you a service fee:) Thanks again!

Between your video and another one on how to clear a jammed auger I fixed my unit. Thanks for the video. mine did not need replacement just freed from the pellets stuck

The video was very useful. Thanks! To unfreeze the auger and clean stuff from the tunnel, use soda. I used Dr. Pepper, and it dissolved it quickly!

Thanks for the great video. I have a brand new Camp Chef Woodwind and the auger won’t turn. I couldn’t get the box cover on left end off until I watched your vid. I missed the 2 screws in the bottom of the pellet hopper.
Auger is fine and free. Motor is bad.

Did they replace it? I have a brand new one this summer. Less than 10 cooks. Auger not turning any longer. Had a Traeger for 12 yrs, no issues till yr 12. I am not a happy camper if you will.

Can you explain why you did this? My understanding is the replacement controller doesn't require any different auger parts.

W Stewart because I had been testing another controller that required different parts. I was putting it back to the factory original parts. Replacement of only the controller doesn’t require any additional part changes.

Can u tell me where u got the aftermarket one. Mine is out from warranty and it died.

Bryan West I think I got one from Smoke Daddy. But it is not the same RPM as the Camp Chef one. You can look on the internet for a 1.6 rpm motor.

Amazon has it, says 1.6 rpm and compatible with Camp Chef smoker.

How long did you have your grill before these parts failed? Did the company replace the parts for free?

    • @texaspelletsmokers

They didn't fail, I had replaced them with parts for another after market controller. I was just putting the factory ones back in to demonstrate as a how too.

Texas BBQ Pellets understood. Did they warrantee your temperature controller?

jwbarker81 The company will warranty any parts that daily. They are very good at customer service. I already had this controller so there was no replacement.

I have a camp chef too, and what a pile of crap. Don’t buy these. They have zero industrial design, sloppy assembly and very poor quality of materials. I will NEVER own one of these again.
