Yes, i think it´s almost scary how good they are and they are getting even better and better... Songwriting from Kanami is NUTS, Saiki and Miku are such a great vocal duo, Misa and Akane rocking the hell out as the rhythm section! IMO they are the best band overall right now, doesn´t matter if it´s rock, metal or what so ever... Their song structure is so unique and refreshing and on top of it all, they really having fun together, loving their fans a lot and always working so hard to get better, writing more songs, doing music videos, doing liveshows... There is no holding back, i think they gonna reach an HUGE status after this COVID is over and they can tour again, i am so happy i discovered them a long time ago, saw them growing (blooming) and that more and more people can experience this great music, especially at these tough times right now! Akane has said that Kanami "made" her work hard on her double pedaling to get up to the scorching 180bpm pace for Blooming and Rinne. Morphing from Gorilla to *Drumzilla!* It really shows on the new album with some 220 bpm!

Band-Maid always "takes me somewhere far away" - songwriting skills on steroids with Blooming. Seriously, that drop off from the solo to those beautiful harmonies "take me somewhere far away" gives way to the main theme, but in the outro makes a reappearance ON TOP OF the main theme and they go together perfectly!! It brings a tear to me eye! (insert Irish accent there)

Blooming is one of my Top 10 Band-Maid songs. It is such a beautiful and well composed song and so full of emotion (even though I don't speak Japanese). When they break down into the "Far Away... Take Me Far Away From Here" part I lose it. Also, this video is just an awesome work of art in its own right. The visuals, while simple, are absolutely stunning and the color changes that coincide with song changes are amazing.... especially the strobe effect during MISA and Kanami's solos. LOVE IT! Keep up the good work and be sure to buy a ticket for their February 11th online OKYU-JI (concert or serving as it is called). It will be their Budokan set list... over 2 hours of Band-Maid at the zenith!

Thanks for the reaction 😊 If there's a perfect song for me, this one comes pretty close. Definitely in my top 3 Band-Maid songs. And Kanami is not only a guitar virtuoso and ingenious composer, but also so cute and lovely when you see her off-stage, like in interviews.

Cant say anything about the New Album need to hear it more often and under good Headphones. But i really really really love Manners, Warning and Afterlife.

How can they be so talented? Because they work harder than most people ever will. Miku worked to learn guitar from 0, practicing for hours a day. Saiki continues to take singing lesson. Miss also is still taking bass lessons to get better. And I don't doubt that Akane and Kanami are also constantly improving and working hard. They're an inspiration. If you go back and watch early live videos they've come super far and just keep getting better.

It's been my fav for awhile, and no nobody seemed to notice why, but you were the first - Saiki's harmonies with Miku and the post Kanami solo let air back into the room, and Kanami's solo defies belief, Misa bassing her way into glory when Saiki starts the fast rap singing, and AKANE the drumming beast keep them all in order. I was literally crying a bit just before Kanami's solo when the tubes were red as I knew her guitar was going to be epic. 😂😋😍😎
For this song, Kanami says that she had asked each of the members to contribute some piece of music and then she stitched it all together. I think the part after the solo where it drops into those lush harmonies ("somewhere far away") was Miku's.
Excellent reaction Kate - I loved it! In particular I really liked it when you drew our attention to Kanami playing lead under the vocals which added lots of sound combinations. Because of that I was more open to listen at the end of the song where Saiki and Miku were singing and again Kanami added some lead support. I got the feeeling in this part that Kanami‘s guitar was acting like a third voice to go with Saiki and Miku. Many thanks for increasing my listening capability. Keep em coming! ❤️

You had me at blooming. This was the 1st new release for me after listening to Band maid for a couple of months. I bet you would like Band Maiko (Secret Maiko Lips and Gion-cho).
One of their best, talk about a true eargasm..... at the end Kanami shredding, Saiki and Miku harmonizing with MISA and Akane chuggin' away in the rhythm section.....a damn Masterpiece if you ask me. MISA IS the Bass Slide Queen.
I think its time you started to look at some of their Live performances, My favourite is Play, followed by Real Existence Freedom, Domination. Onset Is also amazing, though it is an instrumental.
Akane's name is pronounced "Ah-kan-eh". "Blooming" is an insanely good song. I'd recommend "Endless Story" for more beautiful harmonies you'd really love.
Band Maid is one of the top five finds I've seen through RUclips. They just make you smile. There are two songs that I haven't seen here as a singer you'll be asking why didn't you know about these bands. (Much like folks do when they see Band-Maid for the first time.) Of course Nightwish -Ghost Love Score Wacken 2013 Live, one of the most reacted to songs and secondly you will be amazed by Unleash the Archers - Awakening Full Band Playthrough. Both singers have opera training and are fantastic in their own way. Don't be too distracted by that pot of gold that you miss these =)
When you first mentioned Kanami's tapping, I had a good laugh knowing that it was just a teaser for the song's finale. :) Each one of these ladies is an equally strong pillar in the Band-Maid construct, so thank you for mentioning Saiki and Miku as well. With all the talent on the instruments, the two voices of the band tend to get too little attention. Unjustly, in my opinion. TBF, that's probably Kanami-san. She's known to work herself to the point of unhealthiness. Then again, Small Pigeon is evidently powered by a fusion reactor.
Misa is the Barefoot Bass Assassin.... lol Yeah, she is a complete monster on the Bass. There are a couple of videos of just her bass solos. She was the reason that I discovered Band Maid. There are so many layers to them that you are right, everytime you are discovering something new.

Love Band Maid, and love Kanami.. Her guitar here, Puzzle, and Daydreaming is just incredible. Her talent on the guitar, and composing songs is just incredible. She is in my favorite guitarists of all time. Right there with EVH, Slash, Neil Schon, John Petrucci, Cris Olivia, David Gilmor, Jimmy Page, Carlos Santana who she says is an influence of hers. And many others for me. Misa, just great. Akane and Tamu in Nemophila are my current favorite drummers. Both there with Bonham, Michael Derossier, Meil Peart, Michael Portnoy for me. And Jimmy Page caught Band Maid live in Tokyo, and did a photo with Akane, basically calling her the new Bonham. Nemophila is another japanese band i love.

"Blooming" is a top 5 for me..."Daydreaming" No.1 for personal reasons...and it's awesome as is...."Real Existence" is No.2..LOVE the MV...Akane going "Animal" (Muppets) on the drums..Kanami hopping about like a frog on a hot tin roof...just wonderful!.....The LIVE at Zepp version is sooooooo rockin!..Though not writen by the ladies..they really make it theirs...one of their best LIVE performances as far as I am concerned.....Well with saying that...Where are you?...not been on in some time....I hope you are ok...The ladies have had new EP out since then...called "UNLEASH!!!!!"...An released 3 videos from it...the title tack..which is partial anime..And "Influencer".....in the past couple of weeks...."From Now On"..and instrumetal...Hope to see you react to these soon.
You know the Kanami is the primary composer and Miku is the primary lyricist. Both now write all the time, kinda like taking notes, to enable them to create their new songs and produce and album. Kanami does ask Akane and MISA for input and ideas. Saiki is now working with Miku on lyrics. MISA, in an interview, said she creates her bass lines and they are incorporated into the songs pretty much as is. They live apart so the first work with the music is via the internet, with Kanami sending everyone the music. Then to the studio with Saiki having the "We're Done" call. Last thing, Kanami has degrees in Economics and Marketing. I think her parents wanted her to have a trade in case the music didn't work out. As to other Japanese Bands have checkout Babymetal and Lovebites??
If you want great vocals, check out Daydreaming too. It's Band-Maid doing U2 better than U2. Irish blasphemy? lol Honestly it's a fantastic ballad. I also like Endless Story. I know some didn't like when they went "soft" but no matter what, Band-Maid is going to do it better than anyone else!
Yes. I love every freaking thing they do. Different took me a few listens to wrap my brain around, but it got better each time. I love their hardest stuff but also the softer tunes as well. When Saiki and Akane did their acoustic mini-set in concert of Puzzle and Anemone, it was some of the most gorgeous, sad, emotional music I've ever heard. They work incredibly hard to put out the most complete, perfect tunes being produced today.
You need to see their live performances and be blown away. Just pick one they’re all good. If you want to see their musical talents I’d recommend instrumental“Onset” live.

Saiki can spit out words faster and faster. I fully expect her to have one long beautiful tone without gaps. Rapping? Not what I class as rapping but there is an argument. I would love for you to sing a song as fast with your beautiful Irish lilt. I am in whenever you want to do one. It would be exceptional I am sure. Great reaction to a great band.

When you first mentioned Kanami's tapping, I had a good laugh knowing that it was just a teaser for the song's finale. :)
Each one of these ladies is an equally strong pillar in the Band-Maid construct, so thank you for mentioning Saiki and Miku as well. With all the talent on the instruments, the two voices of the band tend to get too little attention. Unjustly, in my opinion. They fit really well together and are the best for this band.

TBF, that's probably Kanami-san. She's known to work herself to the point of unhealthiness. Then again, Small Pigeon is evidently powered by a fusion reactor.
I really wish you could get a copy of "Puzzle" accoustic and do a back to back with the regular version. You would love them.

Misa is the Barefoot Bass Assassin.... lol Yeah, she is a complete monster on the Bass. There are a couple of videos of just her bass solos. She was the reason that I discovered Band Maid. There are so many layers to them that you are right, everytime you are discovering something new.

back again BLOOMING is still mv fav song after a year, and Daydreaming is the most beautiful, and all are talented but Kanami writes the music and think all of this greatness is in her head - I think she is the secret sauce to their greatness. BYE
Wow, Blooming is one of their top compositions, specially for Saiki's speed singing. So different then "Daydreaming" or Gion-Cho, isn't it?
Your favorite Band Maid song is the one you're currently listening to. I thinkyou would like Wonderland (live) as a showcase for Saiki's vocals. The BRAND NEW song (not even out worldwide yet) is Saiki making your cry for real with her emotion. It is a love letter to the fans called "About Us".

Love Band Maid, and love Kanami.. Her guitar here, Puzzle, and Daydreaming is just incredible. Her talent on the guitar, and composing songs is just incredible. She is in my favorite guitarists of all time. Right there with EVH, Slash, Neil Schon, John Petrucci, Cris Olivia, David Gilmor, Jimmy Page, Carlos Santana who she says is an influence of hers. And many others for me. Misa, just great. Akane and Tamu in Nemophila are my current favorite drummers. Both there with Bonham, Michael Derossier, Meil Peart, Michael Portnoy for me. And Jimmy Page caught Band Maid live in Tokyo, and did a photo with Akane, basically calling her the new Bonham. Nemophila is another japanese band i love.
I think you are in deep enough to get into their live Performances...Domination, Freedom, Wonderland. I can't wait!

"Blooming" is a top 5 for me..."Daydreaming" No.1 for personal reasons...and it's awesome as is...."Real Existence" is No.2..LOVE the MV...Akane going "Animal" (Muppets) on the drums..Kanami hopping about like a frog on a hot tin roof...just wonderful!.....The LIVE at Zepp version is sooooooo rockin!..Though not writen by the ladies..they really make it theirs...one of their best LIVE performances as far as I am concerned.....Well with saying that...Where are you?...not been on in some time....I hope you are ok...The ladies have had new EP out since then...called "UNLEASH!!!!!"...An released 3 videos from it...the title tack..which is partial anime..And "Influencer".....in the past couple of weeks...."From Now On"..and instrumetal...Hope to see you react to these soon.

Irish react to "Yolo" another song of them with many variation throughout the music. 😉
You know the Kanami is the primary composer and Miku is the primary lyricist. Both now write all the time, kinda like taking notes, to enable them to create their new songs and produce and album. Kanami does ask Akane and MISA for input and ideas. Saiki is now working with Miku on lyrics. MISA, in an interview, said she creates her bass lines and they are incorporated into the songs pretty much as is. They live apart so the first work with the music is via the internet, with Kanami sending everyone the music. Then to the studio with Saiki having the "We're Done" call.
Last thing, Kanami has degrees in Economics and Marketing. I think her parents wanted her to have a trade in case the music didn't work out.

If you want great vocals, check out Daydreaming too. It's Band-Maid doing U2 better than U2. Irish blasphemy? lol Honestly it's a fantastic ballad. I also like Endless Story. I know some didn't like when they went "soft" but no matter what, Band-Maid is going to do it better than anyone else!
Yes. I love every freaking thing they do. Different took me a few listens to wrap my brain around, but it got better each time. I love their hardest stuff but also the softer tunes as well. When Saiki and Akane did their acoustic mini-set in concert of Puzzle and Anemone, it was some of the most gorgeous, sad, emotional music I've ever heard.
They work incredibly hard to put out the most complete, perfect tunes being produced today.
You need to see their live performances and be blown away. Just pick one they’re all good.

I prefer the drumming in Secret Maiko Lips.
But i prefer the back Instrumentation and the Bass-Guitar in Gion Cho. If we are Lucky She watches both of them.
Saiki can spit out words faster and faster. I fully expect her to have one long beautiful tone without gaps. Rapping? Not what I class as rapping but there is an argument. I would love for you to sing a song as fast with your beautiful Irish lilt. I am in whenever you want to do one. It would be exceptional I am sure. Great reaction to a great band.
Songwriting. YES. Composition and arrangement. I appreciate it even more than their performance, which is excellent.
