In this video I'll explain 10 different bass patches you can use for progressive psytrance basslines. I'll first show you how to synthesize all 10 different bass patches. After that I'll show how you can process them together into a nicely glued single bassline. Finally I'll talk about arrangement and how to achieve a cohesive sounding structure for your basses.

Projektor is an alias I started around august 2019. Under this alias I started posting psytrance music with a clear emphasis on theming and a more progressive or mainstream style than other producers. The goal of the Projektor alias is to release memorable music which works well on the dancefloor. Around january 2020 I started posting tutorials and other helpful videos on youtube again under the Projektor alias. Together with these videos I started selling several products which can be used to improve your productions. I have always believed music production knowledge should be shared and that is now one of my main goals with the Projektor alias. Currently Projektor is the only alias under which I release music, videos or products but this might change in the future!

@@Projektor_music Actually i also make psytrance evry once in a while. So definitely helpful ! :)
@@tulsymusic nice! glad it is helpful!
Good :)
thanks!
Great Sounddesign! Are there presets available of theses basses to experiment with?
Unfortunately I don't think I have the presets anymore, also from the processing you can see that much of the sound relies on that so you would need the plugins for that too to actually get the exact sounds.
I want to add a 1000 likes to this video.
I have a question, say I wanted to start making psytrance again, but only if I could map my basslines to a midi keyboard to change key in real time with my left hand while I arpeggiate or play chords with my right hand, how would I go about that? I've seen someone doing this at a party but I don't belive it's common practice. I think psytrance production would only be worth putting my time into if can bring something innovative to the table by employing more music theory to actually create songs instead of long, repetitive singular grooves with a modal sound which may hype people up on the dance floor but evidently don't have wide marketable appeal..
The concern i have is that the bassline would need to be EQd differently for at least 12 individual keys to get that punchy expansive sound which may be difficult if keys are modulated in real time, but then again no other genres bother to go to such lengths.. they just slap on one EQ to cover every key i think? Either way, any help or insight would be appreciated. 💜
Honestly I would not bother with EQing or processing for individual keys and just EQ and process for each key once!
Is there a reason you want to create the bassline live though? seems like something you would preproduce for a set!
I'd personally focus on producing synths and effects live rather than the bassline!
@@Projektor_musicSo you'd do one comprehensive EQ for all keys then? As for why it can't be programmed; because its not natural, it can't be "played." The guy I saw playing at a party seemed to be changing the key of the bassline on the fly to match the energy of the room with his midi keyboard i suppose, while the rest of the track elements were probably automated.(It was a squat party at a house so there was more room for playing around 😄 so cool.)
I don't necessarily want to do the same; rather to map the bassline to a midi keyboard as a creative catalyst so I can play it as an instrument which I believe should lead to more natural and musical tracks. Anything that's not progressive psytrance will never sell in its current state, let alone compete in the charts with songs that utilise chord progressions and hooks.
@@divinasi0n I don't know about performing live but I can see that it might be interesting. I would indeed suggest using just a single EQ... there is no effective way to switch both keys as well as EQ effects...
what performance software do you want to use?
@@Projektor_music Ableton or Cubase I'd use; is it possible with both? Thanks!
@@divinasi0n For ableton I don't see a way. Cubase is not known for live performances so I don't think there is a way to do this.
Can you please help me
what's up?
@@Projektor_music i dont understand the pitch stab bass how to make them
@@realalex2647 Did you follow my video? what is there specifically that you don't understand?
@@Projektor_music So I also have trouble with the Pitch Stab Bass. Specifically, everytime I raise or lower one of the Phase Bars (markes as "bin" and a number) in the Wavetable editor, the whole Waveform just turns into a flatline
