How do you deal with a mother that obsesses over what time the daughter will be home from work. Usually around 2pm she becomes restless and argumentative about my wife being at work. I’ve tried music sorting etc. nothing is helping the obsession she has with my wife. Very difficult for our care giver and us. Any help would be great
Hi @FreightTrain420. Would your wife be able to talk on the phone her Mom around the time of day she starts to ask for her, and/or leave a video message saying she will be home soon? Maybe say she has to work a little late or run some errands? Hearing her voice might help with anxiety and video could be helpful as you might need to replay it. Is there something in the environment that can be changed at this time of day to possibly make it less overwhelming or can she do more activities (physical and mental) earlier in the day? Just some thoughts.
@@jameslwest1 thank you for replying! Yes she is called every hour or hour and a half most days by FaceTime on the iPad. We had to take her phone away because she was calling my wife 20x a day, usually starting about 1-130. The inability to understand that she works is hard to deal with. Claims we don’t care about her because of working, but then says she did it for years. She was hyper focused on my wife before the VD came along, but it has gotten progressively worse over the last year. We’re in stage six and there have been rapid declines since early December. Just not sure how to break the focusing on only that
