omg so sorry this happened to you. I had a similar experience with a horrible therapist, which created more trauma lol. I had to go through a few therapists to find the one that clicked with me and really understood me, now have been to the same therapist for the past 5 years (on and off) and I've grown so much and learnt so much! I hope you find a therapist that will be a good match for you 🥰 If you think about it, it's kind of like dating - you need to "kiss a few frogs" before you find the therapist who's best for you ❤

Honestly that is such a refreshing way to look at the situation - I was so frustrated but there is always someone out there you just have to find them !! Thank you for your comment 💕

Sorry that happened to you! I had bad experiences with therapists too when I was a teenager and it's scared me away from finding another. The first time I was 17, struggling with crippling depression, social anxiety and an eating disorder. I finally opened up to this woman and burst into tears and all she had to say was I was being childish. Really unhelpful and shut me down. Surely therapists shouldn't shame people for crying haha!
Anyway, just came across your channel and really appreciate your honesty and vulnerability. New subscriber! 💕

As someone who has been to therapy from age 12 onwards, it really is often a con toss. A good therapist can be life changing and help you get on the right track, the not so good ones just don't do anything helpful, but the really bad ones set you back instead. As a kid I had one of those and as a result took me like 15 years to be able to trust them again.

There are two ways to get help- online and person/ph therapy
Online help is often the best way as you get the exact advice you need and person therapy often helps when you just need to talk to someone and get those feelings out.

I have found that the key for my anxiety is living in the moment/the day... The past is gone and tomorrow never comes.
    Good luck

I hope that woman loses her license. I've had bad experiences with therapists as well and it is so traumatizing. Especially when you're dealing with a trauma that revolves around family being dismissive of your abuse.

That's why i know lots of people who prefer classical homeopathy or colorpuncture, as demonstrated in this video: Healing Quest: Colorpuncture for PTSD

A therapist can’t force you to continue with them - if the “fit” isn’t right, then ethically you have every right to change therapist.

@@asdasddaasfsdfa1607 that’s such a shame. I hope you can find your way to someone better, no one should pay a professional who doesn’t listen or help

Janice?? Well, you picked the right name, OH MY GOD! 🤣🤣 But seriously, that`s why I wouldn`t want to go to a therapist, because they can cause more harm and damage just when you need help and support the most. Good you got it out of your system and I hope you found a better one.♥

As a psychologist, this makes me feel optimistic about my own practice lol. In all seriousness I'm so sorry you had this experience, have you been able to find a better fit since?

Yes! I did find another and she was/is amazing. We did about 6 sessions and that was all she thought I needed. Although it's tough I actually enjoyed the experience tbh. Soo much better than that first session
