This is a great episode 🙌!! I’m a dog walker turning into dog trainer. Started with dogs that were pulling so hard my gf shoulder was getting messed up. I got fed up and started educating myself on why dogs do what they do. Now im teaching some clients dogs on how to walk and more for basically free, got to get my success rate up before I actually call myself a trainer. 80% of dogs I walk pull hard af or they’re aggressive. I help them behave better it’s awesome.

Gotta build the skillet before charging for it. Respect for how you’re handling everything!

@@MiracleK9Training thanks. they only pay for me to walk/play with their dog. I don’t call myself a trainer at all. I know my place.

Such a great episode. Really recognise the new trainers getting into sport training and not realising that it doesn't translate well to pet owners if you don't tone it down (a lot). As for the board & train talk.. I run a 'bootcamp' program (thanks Tyler for the coaching and suggestion!), where I visit the family for 4 weeks for an hour a day (4 days a week) with 1 client session a week to transfer skills. I have found that's been super useful as I really don't want to run B&Ts. Added bonus is that you practise all issues in the dogs environment.

I like that idea a lot! There are a million ways to Rome. I love board and trains and do a lot of them but I see so much nonesense in that world and people just marketing them horribly. Glad you enjoyed!

Really enjoyed this one, big fan of Tyler's work, the burnout is so real. It was nice to hear that I'm not the only that feels this way. I want to help dogs and their people, but sometimes forget I need to help myself first. I do strictly private in-home and the biggest frustration is owner compliance. Appreciate what you all do for the dogs and this industry.

It can be unbelievably exhausting doing everything yourself. Focus on you and get some help.!

This podcast opened up my mind on what goes on with board & train & what goes on with the trainer that we as pet owners don't see. Burnout I've heard b4. This makes me appreciate my trainers so much more. Also focus more on goals for my girl when she goes for boarding.. when we go on vacation. Excellent podcast lots of information.. thanks!

Shut out to the guy in North Carolina you are talking about who runs a board and train out of their house. I'm in Eastern North Carolina doing the same thing right now I wish I knew who you were talking about.
