Omg this brings back nasty memories but it's hilarious :))) As a kid I wore braces. My dentist was a university professor and for some reason he found my case interesting, so every time I went to my appointment there were like 15-20 students gathered around the chair and all I could see was a circle of heads all staring into my mouth. Kudos for the video, had a great laugh! Hope you all become awesome dentists!

Loved the parody! Back in the mid-1980’s, fellow students filmed a parody of Michael Jackson’s “Beat It.” Titled “Seat It,” the parody was about seating a crown before you flunk & get kicked out of school. I can’t remember the lyrics, but it stressed: they are out to get you, They’ll kick you, then they'll beat you, Then they'll tell you it's fair - so seat it, You’re playin' with your life, this ain't no truth or dare, etc…Oh, but so True, very true. Symptoms of too much stress at UT San Antonio dental school where there was no support from the administration nor faculty.
During the third year of dental school (GPA 2.05), I came down with fulminating ulcerative colitis & ended up with a permanent ileostomy. It took me 2 years to recover from the surgery. Dental school was a trial by ordeal that I could not endure. I wanted to make a difference in peoples’ dental health, but not at the expense of my own health.
Undaunted by sunk costs, I changed majors & went on to happily earn an MBA (GPA 3.42). I went from making “Ds” to making “As.” Vindication! No Imposter Syndrome. I wasn’t a “D” student after all. The support for students was tremendous at UT Austin, both from the university and from Fortune 500 companies. UT Austin is a real university because it wants graduates to learn, not just memorize, and to be successful in their chosen field - all with the least amount of stress.
HAHAHA reminds me of my golden years at dental school.... i miss that golden era of my life :'(
