My transgender kiddo has endured so much trauma and bullying that I am pulling him now he is currently in the seventh grade, but failing due to the abuse he’s enduring from classmates, etc. I have been going back-and-forth with Kids. I’m so scared that I’m going to fail him, but I think it’s best we start at the end of this month. I’m so excited any recommendations thank you so much for sharing everything you share so helpful.
I’m so late on replying but thank you so much! That’s so sweet. Did you guys go with K12? I’ll have an updated video on our current status with the school soon. I hope you all had a great school year!
There are some materials that are not sent back but textbooks and literature books are. K12 sends you a list of what goes back and shipping labels so you don’t have to pay for it.
We are in TN, is curriculum same for all k12 ,So in middle school do the kids get choose which science? My girl goin in 7th this yr and took life science in public school for like last 2 yrs and she switching k12 this year and hopes for 7th they let her do earth science.. and they dont provide science book still?
It is basically the same across the board but some states have some minor differences. And yes you are correct they don’t provide books for that. That was a big thing for us. They are not disability friendly. We need hard copies of books and they literally don’t even make one for science.
I actually have a video coming this week about why we left Virginia Virtual. I can’t state enough how much I recommend people run the other way. Since the pandemic they have prioritized test scores over learning and well being. Some kids get through the course work quickly in the day while others work until 8 at night to get it done. Every student is required to attend live classes weekly whether they need the extra help or not. These classes are largely just focused on what SOL skills they have to master. Beyond that VaVA also found a way to add homework! There are extra weekly assignments to go along with the coursework and live classes. It’s become very toxic and rigid. We do not endorse this program for any situation or any family. There are better programs that prioritize learning and student growth.
We normally got them anywhere from 2-4 weeks before it started. Usually minimum of 2 weeks. We don't endorse K12 anymore though and will have a video next week on why.

I am trying to choose between connections academy and Virginia Virtual. What is the workload like and what are the in-class requirements
