My heart is with you. My parents are both gone now, but I wasn't prepared for my son's early passing about 9 years ago. Be sure to enjoy those those that are here now. You never know when you can't again.
Well Done Sir! Always amazed at your rapid kicking series technique. I've only used a "one and done" kick before reseting to just at or past TDC prior to kicking again. Might give your method a try one day.
That sounds very well. they have a bit of a reputation for being rattly but that one sounds fine, and the exhaust note is good. I rather like them; sweet little things to ride. I always thought about building a Triton using a Navigator or Jubilee frame and a 3TA engine, just because it'd be a "proper" triton that wasn't proper at all!
Two memories spring to mind 1one when i was about 15 wee managed to squeeze one into a cotton frame that had an Italian engine that was knackered, and it went like the clappers when it would start . The second a customers bike years later had appeared at the garage just as i was about to attempt a first start and it did fairly easily and all excited he jumped on it and headed away up the near by fields .He eventually came back with a big grin and asked me to MOT it 🤣Correction the first one was an Ariel arrow engine we put in the Cotton trials frame !
G'day Paul, well done starts well if l was the owner a new carburettor wouldn't go a stray, that's the first time l have seen that model bike from Norton, don't think the 350 twin was exported too Australia, cheers mate, Neil 🤠.
Nice to see a Navigator, they got very cheap in the mid to late 60's because of their poor reputation, but I always fancied one, just to get a NORTON, I actually got a 'bought as seen' BSA B40 from Pride Clarkes in Brixton, another very much not rated bike, but I loved it, ran it every day for 5 years. We must see your test ride and opinion of the navigator.
After that first start and knowing the problems with the tick over screw, I would take the tank off and clean it out and strip the carbs out in case of any settled rubbish in the float Chambers.
At our end just sounds like the tappets could use adjustment other than that it sounds good, but as you say I expect it is just the mic picking up the top end
That pretty little bike sounds mechanically quiet. I'm sure that the road test will be most enjoyable. You could even stop and see what 'Bugeroff' makes of a stationery bike. He might approve. I bet the Jubilee will be excellent fun round the twistys although the box may need a bit of stirring to keep it on song. It's all relative, Jubilees and Tiger Nineties have loads of guts compared to awful 400/4s
Sounds very clattery But, I know from recording my various bikes, even the sweetest runner sounds awful once recorded so I wouldn't worry about it....seems these mics pick up a lot of top and midrange or boost it trying to work out what the heck its hearing..
Pilot Jet Blocked? if the Fuel has been in the system for a long time ....I start up with 50/50 Acetone/Petrol mix...the Jets clear as the Engine is running at low Revs. Smells 'orrible so Vent well.
Running well. It's a shame Norton didn't build these and the electra with a more traditional engine style. I hate the look of the timing chest and the downpipes. Nearly as bad as a Virago in my opinion. Great channel Paul.
Those terrible tales again ... I have a Navigator which my father used in the mid seventies to commute over 50 miles each way, several days a week at one time, sometimes with a mate on the back. It never let him down and it is still a runner, but needs some minor attention and tidying, which I hope to make time for one day.
@@paulhenshaw4514 I know what you mean. My Mk1 Square Four sounds great in videos, but there's all sorts of noises once you get near it. Navigator is a tidy machine though, I'm surprised you don't see more of them.
Thought of sharing with dad mechanic over 50 years but he passed on Saturday tears to my eyes
So sorry for your loss. I haven't 'liked' for obvious reasons.

Always a relief on a first start up to hear a motor sounding well after being stood for a long time. Looking forward to the road test 👍
Great start up Paul smiling with this one its sounds good...

Good to see you wearing a T-shirt appropriate to the task! The motor sounds well enough.

I’m wincing at that pair of pliers on the slide stop screw!!!
No need - the pliers were in experienced hands. All good now.

It's amazing how much maligned these Navigator and Electra models were, that sounds great to me Paul, nice looking bike too
Sounds very good. Nice outcome...thank you
The British have nice looking timing side covers. Growing up in the states never saw some of the models you’re working on lately Paul.

Were happy to. Nice t-shirt !
Good to see you smile😂
Thanks - it can happen occasionally!
But please not too often.
Wow, good job again Paul!
Hello Paul, I wouldn’t worry about the cameras microphone today, that motor sounds sweet!
Cheers Kevin.
Thanks 👍
Very satisfying going to bed knowing that things are going in the right direction. Much maligned bikes.
In period they weren't very good though...

Good one.

Hi Neil, this one is a Navigator 350, the Jubilee was a 250.

No - I just wound the tickover screw in after freeing it and got a nice, steady tickover.
Running well. It's a shame Norton didn't build these and the electra with a more traditional engine style. I hate the look of the timing chest and the downpipes. Nearly as bad as a Virago in my opinion. Great channel Paul.
what is your views on those and the jubilee, i have heard terrible tails back in the day

Sounds nice and quiet doesn't.
Yes, as I explain in the video. Yet again ...

Wow that's great, i wrote a comment on your Facebook page ❤️👍🏁🏍️🛺🐑🇵🇭🏴
