Our tradition is a quiet Christmas at home, we gift each other a book and something to snack on and that’s all, very minimal. Spend the day watching films and eating nice food
Lovely to see and listen to you. You are a gorgeous lady and your videos give me much joy. Merry Christmas to you and to all the other lovely subscribers.
So lovely to meet the new addition and to see your lovely face today! I loved hearing about your winter traditions-it sounds like you have many already.
Bramwell is adorable!! One tradition that happens for me i around Christmas is that my daughters and I do"The Twelve Books Of Christmas. " We each gift each other 12 books that may or or may not be on our wish list or what we think each other will like. We open a book a day either from December 1st or December 12 depending on our schedules. It's so much fun!!❤
I have so enjoyed listening to this! Thank you. Next near we will welcome our first grandchild and l hope that a new tradition will be coming to Safta (grandmother) Jo's for a reading of Clement Clarke- Moore's "Twas the Night Before Christmas" Our long held family tradition is the making of mince pies as the skies darken on Christmas Eve and "Carols from Kings" us played on the radio...
Black kitties have great personalities! I lost mine in March, she was 18 and a precious girl, with absolutely no malice. I think the Spode Christmas dishes are beautiful; I have a few pieces. Have fun with baby Bramwell (that purr!) Happy Holidays! 🎄🐈⬛
Hiii Branwell! The best tip I was ever given for cats and Christmas trees is to bring the tree in, put it in the stand and then leave it for at least 24 hours. That gives the cats chance to explore it and if they do climb it, nothing gets broken. Once they’re bored of it, we then decorate ☺️🎄
Lovely to see you back & congrats on the new little cutie! For traditions, we have a fun few - On Xmas eve we'll go on a festive light walk, then a Christmas cocktails & cookie baking night with holiday records on vinyl. Then on Christmas day we open stockings then go see a film at the cinema. This year's pick is Nosferatu 😂🎄🦇 Happy Holidays!
We always hang chocolates on our tree,I thought everyone did but apparently not😃.We always eat pizza on Christmas eve.We watch Miracle on 34th Street ,A Christmas carol and Elf. I'm reading Rosamunde Pilcher....Winter Solstice. Your kitten is adorable,he looks like a tiny version of our Mitzicat.🥰
Great to see you here again. I’ll be doing Jolablokaflod this year, the Icelandic tradition of new books and chocolate on Christmas Eve. It will be our third year. Previously I spent Christmas Eve doing last minute jobs and wrapping into the early hours. Now I finish all that early so I can enjoy reading quietly as a start to Christmas. We love it ❤
Oh the kitten is just too adorable! ❤ love the name too, Branwell is just perfect. In terms of Christmas traditions, I feel I’m similar to you in that Christmas candles and scents are so important to making me feel seasonal. I’m also making sure I’m getting out to all the markets/events I can, something I often think about doing and then somehow let them all go past. Oh, and in terms of seasonal reading, I’m re-reading the most snowy, seasonal novella - it’s a Victorian romance called ‘A Holiday by Gaslight’ by Mimi Matthews. Even if romance isn’t your thing I defy anyone not to like it, it’s just so seasonal, and has some ‘North and South’ vibes. 🎄
It's always lovely to see you, no matter how often! I haven't yet decided on my TBR for the Christmas break, but it'll probably include "Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell" and Juliet Barker's biography of the Brontës. (By the way, Branwell is a very adorable agent of chaos!)
One of our traditions is the advent wreath. There are lots of ideas online to make different sorts such as the traditional wreath, candles in small flower pots etc. We change it up a bit, but always enjoy counting down with the candles each week.
I did wonder if you had left. Maybe tell your subscribers if you’re going to take a break? It’s probably a good sign, that we all missed you. I just enjoy the chill vibe of your videos and the interesting books you share. Branwell is adorable. I’m on the countdown for the end of term and a month of summer holidays over here in New Zealand.
Tbh I don’t really think of it as taking a break as it’s always accidental as I’ve never done regular videos 😅 Just 12 years of quarterly videos rather than weekly aha! I post updates on my community tab but they only get pushed to people with notifications on I think
Go into town days before Christmas and go to our local small town bookstore and maybe go to lunch. Also like heading to California bird watching areas and play beautiful music while driving through the wildlife sanctuary.
Branwell is such a precious kitten! ❤❤ And do make all the filler videos you need - all your videos are super cozy. Also, it’s because of this channel that I picked up a book on the six wives when I was in London last month. You’re an influencer, I guess! 🎉 Say hi to Ben and the other two furballs from me. 😊
❤📚🎄🐈⬛❤️ I love Murder on the Orient Express! My husband and I watch The Holiday (for me) and Polar Express (for him) together every year! I am reading Marilla of Green Gables by Sarah McCoy right now. Then I hope to read The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah.
Lovely to see and listen to you. You are a gorgeous lady and your videos give me much joy. Merry Christmas to you and to all the other lovely subscribers.
What a great name for your beautiful kitten. Have a peaceful and fuzzy Christmas, see you in another video next year.

Bramwell is a perfect excuse to take time away, or not be reading as much. Love your hair. Very cute. Fits you so well.

Let’s raise our glasses (or cups of tea) to a restorative 3 days of annual leave.😊
The American release of The Mirror and the Light is not until March 23 🥲
