I’ve been working on my golf swing nonstop for 2 years now. I’ve always said if I could consistently set up to my target square I would be so much better. Well, this video helped me do this on the course this weekend. Best round of my life.
This recent series of videos with Todd have been great! Very straight forward, clear & concise! I watch all of the other great teachers channels, I enjoy them and have picked up some great things, but I can say without a doubt that I'm playing better golf after finding this channel. The mechanics you teach are easily processed by my brain & I believe more than anything your calm demeanor and positivity with your audience & students have really settled my mind down & inspired a confidence I've never truly had over the ball. Thank you & keep up the good work 👍
By Luck! ive got a similar alignment/set up routine! must be a major reason why ive got down to 5hcp @ 63yo,now if only i can get a decent swing by watching more Porzak YTs
2:44 walking straight down the line right behind the ball is everything for me. I also start to drop my right shoulder and right hand during that last step. Feels like a Billy Horschel lean.
Thank you so much for sharing, these are amazing tips. I'm sorry I missed last nights zoom, unfortunately I start work at 6 am so I am in bed between 8 to 9 pm.
@@PorzakGolf I really enjoyed the part of the lesson when you explained how you walk into the ball. I come in from the side like you do but I never thought about keeping my eyes down that line. I also wanted to ask how can you book an in person lesson? I live in Texas but would travel to get a lesson from you.
I've a couple of friends who set up pointing way right target, but think they're aligned straight. A couple of times I've stopped them, laid down a club on their toe line and got them to step back and see where they're aiming. They can't believe it. Feel and real AGAIN.
Do you think, Adam, that trying to align to the target, instead of an intermediate (3'ish) is a big factor in players opening their shoulders at address to be able to see that target down fairway?
Perhaps I err but doesn’t this still beg the question of overcoming visual parallax. For me and I’m sure many others, The problem isn’t aligning clubface to the target line it’s my body line after I address the ball. inevitably in my case my body lines are aimed right perhaps it’s left eye dominance. Whatever it is the only way I’ve been able to overcome it is to simply not believe what I’m seeing and move my forward foot away from the target line. You can then drop club on the ground and check for parallel, but you might get booted off the course by your buddies!
I like to pay a lot of attention to my club face during alignment. Once I pick my line based on the first 5 ft, I try and pick a spot on the ball I want to hit, like I’m playing billiards, then make sure the clubface is going square to that. Then it’s just feet and shoulders sitting with that club face
I simply use caddyshack. Tell the ball to “GO HOME”… then blank out all thoughts by muttering “tanananananananananananana” in my head. Could well be why I am shite at golf 🤔?? 🤷♀️ 👌 😅
Still waiting on an explanation of "why". Why do I believe that I'm square but actually aligned right and often way left. There's tons of explanations of "how", I've had a bunch of lessons from multiple pros, never a "why" or corrected. Very frustrating and the most problematic part of if the full swing

Wow! Such a simple concept! Just like bowlers use a mark on the floor, a golfer can use a mark up ahead of them. Perfect. Thank you so much!

No more rake and wack for me! Love seeing Jack so focused on the target. Thanks!
Just love the way you both teach and the detail, works so well for me.

Can’t wait for hip bump vid
Coming soon!
It’s the runways push cart at 3:26 for me🤣
When you are doing this set up is it intending for the ball to go straight?
When set up to the ball, are your hands in line with the ball or should they be ahead of the ball?

I like to panic as part of my preshot routine
Wish the videos came sooner
I do very similar but after stepping up I practice swing and then sometimes I lose my spot that I picked a few feet ahead 😅
