Just focus on playing basic grooves and then slowly change them up a bit so you can get the feeling of playing the snare/base a little different than usual. You can also just search for some coordination workout on yt.

hey man ive been playing for like 7 years, once you separate the two you will notice a different style n speed and performance.

At the time it was very very hard. I spent a lot of hours with a click getting my feet up to speed... Since this video is 3 years old.. I don't have any trouble anymore with phrasing like this :)
