The sauna is my comfort zone because when I sweat profusely, I can shed a tear releasing my emotions without anybody noticing while have the comfort of people around me.
Dont know where you live, but try cold/winter baths combined with sauna! Its the bomb. I do it 3 to 4 times per week and i feel sooo alive, its very popular here in sweden!
I always stretch after a workout then, hit the sauna, then to clean off all the toxins and close your poures I take a freezing cold shower. WOW the blood circulation and energy is insane!
@CSI I have high BP, and I stay in the sauna for 20 min, after getting used to it, being in for 10 minutes for 2 weeks, so my body can get used to it. Now I'm in it for 20 minutes. I use it after a workout, then i take a cold shower :)
Just came out of the sauna and feeling amazing. It was nice to hear all the benefits while I was in the sauna. Made me stay longer. Thanks for the vid man!!
I went into the sauna today because I can feel a cold/flu coming on. Sore throat, runny nose and feeling bleh. 15 mins in the sauna I felt so relaxed and warm while sweating profusely I feel so much better at night when it’s time for bed.
I knew sauns were healthy but I didn't know all this! I've been wanting to build one for a while now and I've been putting it off. You have convinced me that I need one.
Build one I. I'm a builder and built one during the lockdown and I love it can honestly say best thing I've ever done. Also got outside cold shower as it's def 50% part of the revitalising experience
Today I heard this from a cardiologist at the University of Sheffield that a new study found that a 20 minute daily use of sauna reduced risk of heart attack by 50%. This appears related to its effect on maintaining elasticity in cardiovascular system.
Nr 7. So important to know during these crazy times of so called "pandemic" just take care of your body ,eat your vitamins and go to the sauna more often.
you are my hero ... i've been fighting the dummies in public saunas for years ...they want the temp at 135F , with comments like "it's hot in here" ... "don't put water on the rocks, you'll get electrocuted " ... on and on. The ignorance around saunas is vast. So many people are missing the experience from fear and ignorance.
Absolutely correct!!! My Korean instructor had one at the studio and he would always make me sit in there after training. I'm 51 and I still use the sauna 3x per week. Everything in this video is correct.
YES!! Do you know who hard they are to find, anymore?! In the sixties, you could find wet, dry, stand-alone saunas. Now, at best, they're mostly attached to exercise gyms-which want an automatic deduction to become a member of.
As a person suffering from kidney (renal) failure, sauna sessions on non-dialysis days are a literal life saver. Consult with your doctor before using a sauna if you are in my situation. Start off easy and build up your tolerance. Weigh yourself before and after. You'll be amazed. I typically lose almost a gallon of fluid during my prolonged sessions because I retain water unlike individuals with functioning kidneys. Sodium and potassium has been proven to be secreted in sweat so that is helpful in my situation. Before there were dialysis machines, saunas were the only hope for a person with failing kidneys. Be careful. Hopefully this helps someone with similar health problems.
The human body has almost 3 million sweat glands, through which toxins are effectively removed during sweating in the sauna, especially MERCURY, CADMIUM and LEAD! Therefore, the sauna is a huge help to the kidneys!
@Chinnu J it won't reduce dialysis frequency but it can help people with renal failure feel more comfortable in between sessions. Their kidneys are not able to flush out fluid and waste through the normal route (urine) so having a sweat session can excrete extra fluid through the skin, that could otherwise contribute to oedema or retention.
I enjoy going to a sauna/health spa. Usually go once or twice a month. Feel really fresh and clean on leaving. Steam room is my preference, but sauna and jacuzzi are still good.
Saunas are the Hoss!! They detox, releases parasites, gets rid of heavy metals. They do shorten colds. It kills viruses. I could go on and on. I do my own research on the topic which is how I know that stuff. It makes your skin and hair look better, etc.
My bro was just telling me about his sauna visits, I wanted to know about the benefits of a a trip to a sauna. This video was very informative and look forward to my first trip to a sauna soon !
I’m 31 I’ve been going in the steam rooms for the past 10 years. I just like it because you feel clean it is good for your skin all the other shit like whatever
Very concise short vid on the GREAT benefits of sauna therapy. I've been saunaing for 20 years and believe it to be one of the best and EASIEST health practices out there! Enjoy!
The only problem I've found with saunas in the US is that most of them were limited to 140 degrees F. I grew up taking saunas 3+ times a week and it was always above 175F. It was disappointing to find out that these public saunas were set to such low temperatures. They wouldn't even let me sign a waiver so I could turn it up to a respectable temperature.
No I just got off work but I'm thinking about using it. I have a lot of paperwork to do today so I'm going to try and get a little sleep then get some heat before I start paperwork.
1- Stress Relief 2- Improved Endurance 3- Detoxifies Your Body 4- Decreases Heart Disease 5- Helps You Sleep Better 6- Decreases Muscle Soreness after a workout 7- Helps Decrease Certain Illnesses (Increases White Blood Cells More Rapidly) Thank me later.
if your still in the sauna put the phone down . relax breath, through some sented oil on the rocks ,dont burn your eyes. tell that idiot to close the door. sweat some more .2 min ppl what are you doing. through water on thermostat and walls . please dont spit or shave and get your sweaty bare ass covered.
Lactic acid is not a toxin. In fact, lactic acid is important. But it is true that some lactic acid is eliminated in perspiration, which is one of the reasons for benefit #6, relieving sore muscles. Lactic acid helps to fuel the muscles, as well as the brain, but during vigorous exercise, lactic acid can build up in the muscles faster than the body can process it. To quote Wikipedia, " During power exercises such as sprinting, when the rate of demand for energy is high, glucose is broken down and oxidized to pyruvate, and lactate is then produced from the pyruvate faster than the body can process it, causing lactate concentrations to rise.... During intense exercise, the respiratory chain cannot keep up with the amount of hydrogen atoms that join to form NADH, and cannot regenerate NAD+ quickly enough" -- which can result in lactic acid buildup and muscle pain.
As a Finlander I concur ... great video ... best saunas are wood burning, and I may be biased, but also, the ones built by Finns. Common problem with them here in Canada and U.S. they negelct putting in drains and plumbing; they need thorough cleaning to prevent bacteria building up.
Great info.. at times I can't do my cardio.. this sounds like a great substitute. Most things in moderation are great.. please always take the time to balance info with any side effects.. especially so important to hydrate before, during and after. Maybe another video can help. 🤔
Both my parents is Finnish so I grew up with going to the sauna every week. A few years ago we built a sauna in our house and I have been going to the sauna almost every night before bed and I always feel amazing after it. I highly recommend combining the sauna with ice baths!

It's the only time I can tolerate a cold shower. and cold showers are supposed to have their own health benefits. So add that to the list of benefits of a sauna.
As a Finn, I took my first bath in Sauna, and I swear to God (Ukko) that I will take my last. In Ancient Finland, people were born in Saunas, bathed their first time there, and died there and washed there for the last trip. If a house was built, a Sauna was the first building to be built. People lived there and there was prayers to löyly (unique Finnish word for the steam produced from Sauna).
Haha good to know, same here. I saw a girl bring hers in the sauna today and I wanted to as well, but thought of the first time I wore my glasses in there and they got so hot they nearly burned my face :p

Dammm all these years going to the gym I never pay any attention to the saunas. I'm glad I found this video by accident.
Another benefit i found in my experience from visiting sauna regularly is becoming more stress tolerant in life.
I'm Finnish and most of us use the sauna regularly and have one in our house. And so I find it funny how it's kind of "special" for you guys.
