  • Sonata K. 492 by Domenico Scarlatti (1685-1757)
This one-movement sonata was originally for keyboard, but it makes great recorder music! Arranged by Roy Sansom for recorder quartet.
Performed by Sempervirens Quartet: Heloise Degrugillier, Dan Meyers, Emily O'Brien, and Roy Sansom.
The instruments we're playing include a Von Huene Rippert alto, a Yamaha satinwood tenor, a Yamaha maple bass, and a Yamaha maple great bass.

I heard a recording of this played by Wanda Landowska in Paris in 1940-something and you could hear bombs going on in the background. Beautiful arrangement and well played!
