The Terminator was shot without a permit they where only caught once when they where shooting the ending in the middle of the desert. So they told the cop they where shooting a student film.

I don't think this could be completely true. There are some scene with blowing up truck and some scene with shooting or hiting cars. If they shot those scene in some private property they already had a permit. What you saying will make gullible people think every street scene what they see was shot on the street without permit.

"Hollywood Shuffle" was shot almost entirely like that. Robert Townsend always made sure the crew wore "UCLA" t-shirts when shooting in public. If I remember correctly.

“Filmmaking is not about the tiny details, it’s about the big picture.”
George Lucas when making of the Prequel Trilogy.

Not really. More like: "Filmmaking is not about the big picture, it's about the tiny little details explained the characters while sitting on a couch."

Ed Wood making Plan 9 from Outer Space, paved the way for " Citizen Kane", to be made in another dimension.
