I think the Kiwami version was made with the player having mastered the Dragon style in mind. Honestly, grabs not working against bosses is a frustrating thing in RGG games in general. Even now, with Yagami's Snake style being based around grappling, you can't use half the skills because bosses break out of grabs instantly after the second per fight (and sometimes even before that!). It's always disappointed me that "boss immunity" just removes one button from your moveset in 90% of cases. Then again, I've grabbed Komaki in Kiwami 2 and just pummeled him from full to zero with no real skill or care. There's probably a great deal of balancing that needs to be done there lmao

This game, especially the ending, makes you appreciate the Rush style, which I never used in 0. I also didn't bother with the Dragon style, so I had to use Rush for practically every boss. I am convinced that some of the fights were designed by a Dark Souls player.
Same for me. In Yakuza 0 I haven't seen any reason to use the Rush style. Yes, you could dash. But the damage given to enemies is hilarious. At the same time, I enjoyed using the Beast style. But Kiwami was the opposite. Beast was unusable for me while Rush was the primary choice.
Rush and Brawler are the only mains style you gonna use, Beast and Dragon are good when you has good amount of heat, just use your heat and return to rush or brawler
I replayed Zero last year and realized how annoying the knife & bullet stagger is. IIRC, in Chapters 9 and 10 (when Kiryu and Tachibana go to Tojo HQ), I noticed that’s when they spawn tons of Yakuza enemies with knives and guns, and that made street fights so annoying at that point in the story
I beat this boss on Legend so if you're struggling with this boss I recommend 4 things. .At the start, grab one of the MIA agents in Beast mode with full heat and do the heat move where you throw an enemy into other enemies. Do this throughout if possible .Rush for evasion: You gotta be evasive and just generally aware of whenever the MIA will shoot or whenever Jingu will chuck a grenade at you .Use blade weapons: Blade weapon heat actions are just great burst damage to deal in general. It'll make the MIA agents easier. .If you haven't already, unlock the weapon shop in the DVD shop. You can buy an expensive armour with great bullet resistance and blade weapons. I hope this helps
I honestly forgot about this fight probably because every time there is a bossfight where the ACTUAL BOSS is lame while his guards are the true challenge it makes me so pissed that I erase that fight out of my memory. I've just played yakuza 1 after yakuza 0 and hell that game was so bad to play after 0 i didn't enjoy any bosses but story is great, I can't wait to play yakuza kiwami 2, but i need some time after this fights.
I had a significantly easier time on this fight in Kiwami than most because one, I chose normal difficulty because I don't like getting stuck and two, I unlocked the infinite durability bat that you get from fighting Majima. The bat gives you omnidirectional instant guarding against normal attacks and does crazy damage against enemies.
Idk i beat it second try just by spamming Rush quintuple quickstep, then rush combo, Repeat. After i beat the MIA guards, I just spammed Tiger Drop on Jingu
It's a shame on the more difficult settings, staying in beast mode is useless because of enemy aggression. I tried the game with the rage ring and charismatic autobiography equipped to max rage: i only used beast mode to do heat actions or do that dragon style extreme mode thing. Enemies give you no time to move in beast style. :(
i felt like I was the only one who didn't struggle against Jingu. On my first play through, and when replaying the game, I just never found him difficult. One thing when I see people do when they complain about Jingu, and his boyfriends is they never use Tiger drop against the colonels, which only takes about 2-3 drops to drop one of them. But Imo these guys weren't very hard. The Only Hard things in Kiwami, were learning to play mahong, and Freaking Jo Amon.
Jingu first, then Munakata. Pretty much, Jingu should’ve been last boss. Yakuza 7’s Jingu is Horinouchi, and Nishikiyama is just Masato Arakawa by lore, and Ichiban Kasuga by personality.
What really pisses me off about Kiwami is amount of enemies and their weapons. Every skill I've upgraded and trained seems useless when it comes even to street fights. You are just always stunned and the only option to win the fight is to dodge with the rush, fill the heat meter, and then knock them down with a heat action from brawler or dragon styles. And when it comes to weapons. Man, I could manage dealing with knife guys (except razor guy from coliseum) but when there are several handguns it just doesn't give me any chance. It is just impossible to watch for a handgun man when he is offscreen.
The fight wasn't that bad. Just frustrating until I got my footing. Unfortunately his two captains I did have to Tiger drop when they charged at me. Because I just sorta wanted to get to the final boss lol Also. I beat Jingu with a throw? So you should be able to, though I bounced him off of railing first? So maybe that's why.

This was my second Yakuza game after 0, and I didn't bother finishing Komaki's training, solely because in Yakuza 0 you couldn't New Game +, and I had no idea what Tiger Drop was. So I ended up beating the entire game on hard with no tiger drop and a MOSTLY finished dragon style otherwise.....which I barely used in favor of brawler or some shit. I made that WAY more unnecessarily hard than it was. Still did it though! Fuck Jingu!
Tiger drop
I've just played yakuza 1 after yakuza 0 and hell that game was so bad to play after 0 i didn't enjoy any bosses but story is great, I can't wait to play yakuza kiwami 2, but i need some time after this fights.
He the reason im not doing legend difficulty that and the gun men section
I had a significantly easier time on this fight in Kiwami than most because one, I chose normal difficulty because I don't like getting stuck and two, I unlocked the infinite durability bat that you get from fighting Majima. The bat gives you omnidirectional instant guarding against normal attacks and does crazy damage against enemies.
Idk i beat it second try just by spamming Rush quintuple quickstep, then rush combo, Repeat. After i beat the MIA guards, I just spammed Tiger Drop on Jingu
Got beat so bad had to play easy mode 😭😭
its simple they fguy who made the final tanimura boss fight for y4 designed the kiwami jingy fight
In dark souls terms, this is called getting ganked, ganked means getting overwhelmed by a group of people, not having a chance to attack at all.
Jingu boss fight was the most miserable i've ever felt playing a game, i mashed X more than I did anything in the fight lol
you know tiger drop exists and like the enemies drop the guns I found it really easy but kinda annoying
Suprisingly that one gun assasin was way more annoying than this fight this is coming from someone that’s platnumed the game
i used rush and it was INCREDIBLY easy 😭
I found him easier the second time I played. Who I really despise though is Saito from Yakuza 4.
i felt like I was the only one who didn't struggle against Jingu.
This and the last boss of 4 are my 2 most hated fights in the series
What really pisses me off about Kiwami is amount of enemies and their weapons. Every skill I've upgraded and trained seems useless when it comes even to street fights. You are just always stunned and the only option to win the fight is to dodge with the rush, fill the heat meter, and then knock them down with a heat action from brawler or dragon styles.
And when it comes to weapons. Man, I could manage dealing with knife guys (except razor guy from coliseum) but when there are several handguns it just doesn't give me any chance. It is just impossible to watch for a handgun man when he is offscreen.
man in black in kiwami 2 is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy harder
The fight wasn't that bad. Just frustrating until I got my footing. Unfortunately his two captains I did have to Tiger drop when they charged at me. Because I just sorta wanted to get to the final boss lol
Also. I beat Jingu with a throw? So you should be able to, though I bounced him off of railing first? So maybe that's why.
Is this in legend mode? Because jingu was slightly annoying but not so much in normal mode
I out heal these guys so hard man
If you go jnto this boss with the champions ring then i can say you can recreate the yakuza 1 ps2 version easily
ps2 yakuza 1 is weirdly much easier than kiwami ive noticed. try the first shimano boss fight in the ps1 game and then do it in kiwami the difference in difficulty and length is night and day
lol I actually found it easier than the Nishiki fight
For me, its simple. If they bring guns, bring your own guns then. Just saying!
is it hard in the high difficulty or hard in general? bc i didnt struggle with it
When I fought him I think they nerfed him
Not the Bibideba Kiryu
I think the final boss In Yakuza 5 was difficult
