But I remember this conversation more than I remember the context for Wolf calling some content creator a braindead retard, or whatever the fuck Efap's coverage on Jenny Nicoleson's video was that got them so much hate.

I'm probably biased because I've only ever done all my RUclips work on my own in the editing department, even did some for someone's dub project. So it always irks me when a channel centered around one person doesn't do their own editing.
I understand it if your focus is purely and entirely on your writing which is what you intend to carry the video with. (Not counting gameplay editors who have to scrub through VODs to find highlights like what Wolf does here.) And I can even understand if you have a reaction channel that watches movies for youtube. But personally, most of my jokes in my own video happen during editing. Not writing. Which has taught me even if I ever get to a financial state where I COULD hire an editor, it would not work for how my videos are constructed.

The one good thing that came out of the TRO arc was “Narrative Tripling,” which attempts to convey the idea of how people like to list off 3 things at a time when conveying a point. The funniest example of this is the monologue SpongeBob delivers at the end of the first movie. He literally says “or some other 3rd thing” and it’s clearly meant to be funny to the audience lol
This is your daily reminder that the clip this video is taken from is more than a few years old and this interpersonal drama with this youtuber no longer reflects EFAP's relationship with that youtuber, or that youtuber's relationship with Quinton Reviews. TRO is a perfectly acceptable waffle, don't be mean to him just because a few years ago he made an embarrassingly poor choice.
I think he did alright considering he's the fall guy. He's standing in front of the TV crews with the building burning behind him as the CEO is fleeing the country. He mainly just needed to be clearer. A "Quinton's views don't respresent my own and I believe he made a lot of mistakes" would've gone a long way.
Mauler should've given TRO the questions that are going to be asked ahead of time. This whole discussion proves TRO works better when going from a script.
I mean, most people do. Listening to Rags on script versus Off is very telling, Mauler too, like, Mauler on Efap isn't even Mauler *entirely* off script, he's still very aware of how he has to present himself and takes time to think before speaking -- we know this because we have the clip of Mauler leaving a theatre and his *Welsh* is showing and it's really funny to hear "Mauler: Longman of the North" sounds like a drunk trying to tell you why gravity is a scam. I don't think TRO should have had the questions ahead of time. He avoids confronting the accusations enough as it is, giving him a week in advance to try to prepare even more evasive responses would only be more damning to TRO, who as far as we know, is something of a "useful idiot" in this whole situation. What they *could* have done is prepare the videos and twitter posts and such that Quinton has made, and show them plain as day to him and been like "ok, here is Quinton's own words unabridged, given full context." and worked from there, because TRO seems to have only ever had Quinton's view of Efap to work from, and showing him the definitive proof of the lies he's told would probably have been a lot better for TRO's ability to respond -- not that I think that's what *should* have been done, since the purpose is to confront TRO on the video *HE* made, that he scripted, that he produced -- at quinton's behest. This wasn't a "how do you answer for Quinton reviews?" this was a "how do you answer for your words, that you said, in this video you made?" The fact Quinton comes up at all, and something TRO *literally* had no idea idea about as we can clearly see, is that Efap already knew TRO was just regurgitating Quinton's talking points and lies because they've heard them all before.
I will say, iirc TRO learned a valuable lesson from this fiasco and payed a LOT more attention to research and getting shit right in his videos moving forwards

It's because TRO was I believe the only one who wanted to come on and defend Quinton. They offered Quinton a chance and obviously he didn't take it. If TRO wanted to die on this hill that was his prerogative
Adding to the context: Quinton’s involvement in this issue is apart of TRO’s video, it’s an on and off segment throughout in order to present arguments about the criticisms of the film, especially the ones from Mauler. TRO posted it on his channel, he greenlit Quinton’s segments and if he didn’t care to comb through what Quinton had provide it and quality check then that’s entirely on him. It’s a collaborative work with TRO in the drivers seat. If there is something in Quinton’s part of the video TRO doesn’t stand behind it’s up to him whether he keeps it in or not and obviously he chose to keep it. And as the comment above said, Quinton refused to partake in a discussion so he’s not going to be present. The fact that TRO was willing to does speak to the quality of his character tho so good on him for being open to doing this.

This was actually what made me drop TRO as a content creator, the realisation that he just published and backed all this garbage. I just realised that if he could do that, then I couldn't really trust him as a content creator.
If TRO took out every single qualifier for his statements the video would actually be half the length. He honestly is describing things that are understandable and would help the guys in their analysis of the video and figuring out why it is the way it is. Like, saying “yeah in the beginning I was intending to paraphrase Rag’s statements because I didn’t want to confuse viewers with three videos playing, but when it got to editing I realized I needed clips so people didn’t have to take my word at face value and I had less risk of misrepresenting Rags; the final product though is a bit of ‘worst of both worlds,’ I should have been more attentive to context, and I would have found it easier if I had planned it from the beginning; sorry this learning had to negatively affect you guys” is a great admittance of fault, explanation, and contextualizing for the idea that clips are very confusing and poorly cited. And this is basically what he says, he just nervously dances around it and takes bites out of the edges of saying this while qualifying his statements with “from my perspective” a bunch.
TRO was in no doubt negligent in making his video and his argumentation against Rags in defense of IHE wasn’t substantive but I honestly feel kinda bad for him in the way he was unwittingly taken advantage of by Quinton. He used TRO’s platform to gain inches of ground in his effort to mischaracterize and misrepresent Mauler and Rags at TRO’s expense and unfortunately TRO didn’t do his due diligence in verifying what was in Quinton’s segments. Throughout this discussion you can kinda see the gears turning in his head with how he describes Quinton and at a certain point he kinda dejectedly realizes what actually happened, despite all his faults that did make me feel sorry for him.

I mean, or or, now just hear me out, you DON"T use the less used words in your videos. In the script phase use a thesaurus. They are wonderful things; you can even use them online. For clearer communication of your ideas, you see. It is a benefit a two-way win-win. It is not your responsibility to use lesser used words in order to teach your audience. Because now you have to take the time to discover what words are unknown to your audience, because there are more of them than you and thus the differences between them is much greater! So I for example will now waht "riven" means generally because I am a fan of the game made by CYAN. But who else is going to know it, you will have no idea! Therefore, the much better path is to err on the side of clearer communication of your points to your audience by picking the more commonly used words. You can use two words near each other or describe te less common word in other words, but if you don't feel like you have the time (or that takes time away from your points) then is it not simpler and better communication to go first to the more commonly used words? Another point is that many people have distractions by accident (pets, family, doorbell, phone, etc. etc.) or on purpose (play a game turn off the sound in that game and listen to the video in the background for those taht have less free time and wish to do two things at once to get more done). Now they have to alt-tab to your video to pause the video to read the definition. Now, the advantedge to this is to keep eyes/attention on your video, I understand this purpose. That is why this is simply a minor point to consider. If you want to have your videos start with a "word of the day" then that is your prerogative and seems like a good idea for you and your audience. That is a far better option (I would suggest placing it at the start of your video) and you can have your lesser used words AND your video with its points and clear communication at the same time! But personally, most of my jokes in my own video happen during editing. Not writing. Which has taught me even if I ever get to a financial state where I COULD hire an editor, it would not work for how my videos are constructed.

Correct, Mumkey wasnt a saint, but he and quinton did stuff together. I don't *believe* one channel was larger than the other at the time so it wasn't like 'lemme leach your viewers by appearing in your stuff dude' and more like 'haha we are totally friends for real i will in no way distance myself from you simian jimmy haha i will not backstab you when your embarassing secrets go public and i am being totally truthful and honest (im lying)' kind of deal.
The one good thing that came out of the TRO arc was “Narrative Tripling,” which attempts to convey the idea of how people like to list off 3 things at a time when conveying a point. The funniest example of this is the monologue SpongeBob delivers at the end of the first movie. He literally says “or some other 3rd thing” and it’s clearly meant to be funny to the audience lol

TRO is a perfectly acceptable waffle, don't be mean to him just because a few years ago he made an embarrassingly poor choice.
I think he did alright considering he's the fall guy. He's standing in front of the TV crews with the building burning behind him as the CEO is fleeing the country.

Mauler should've given TRO the questions that are going to be asked ahead of time. This whole discussion proves TRO works better when going from a script.
I mean, most people do. Listening to Rags on script versus Off is very telling, Mauler too, like, Mauler on Efap isn't even Mauler *entirely* off script, he's still very aware of how he has to present himself and takes time to think before speaking -- we know this because we have the clip of Mauler leaving a theatre and his *Welsh* is showing and it's really funny to hear "Mauler: Longman of the North" sounds like a drunk trying to tell you why gravity is a scam.
I don't think TRO should have had the questions ahead of time. He avoids confronting the accusations enough as it is, giving him a week in advance to try to prepare even more evasive responses would only be more damning to TRO, who as far as we know, is something of a "useful idiot" in this whole situation.
What they *could* have done is prepare the videos and twitter posts and such that Quinton has made, and show them plain as day to him and been like "ok, here is Quinton's own words unabridged, given full context." and worked from there, because TRO seems to have only ever had Quinton's view of Efap to work from, and showing him the definitive proof of the lies he's told would probably have been a lot better for TRO's ability to respond -- not that I think that's what *should* have been done, since the purpose is to confront TRO on the video *HE* made, that he scripted, that he produced -- at quinton's behest. This wasn't a "how do you answer for Quinton reviews?" this was a "how do you answer for your words, that you said, in this video you made?"
The fact Quinton comes up at all, and something TRO *literally* had no idea idea about as we can clearly see, is that Efap already knew TRO was just regurgitating Quinton's talking points and lies because they've heard them all before.
I will say, iirc TRO learned a valuable lesson from this fiasco and payed a LOT more attention to research and getting shit right in his videos moving forwards

I’m not really a huge fan of trying to make TRO answer for IHEs or Quinton’s lies or misrepresentations. Perhaps it is a certainty that he was involved and he’s just being avoidant but if that were true I doubt he’d come on to speak to you. It seems remarkably good faith of him and honestly I think you were a little hard on him but I don’t have full context.

It's because TRO was I believe the only one who wanted to come on and defend Quinton. They offered Quinton a chance and obviously he didn't take it. If TRO wanted to die on this hill that was his prerogative

Adding to the context:
Quinton’s involvement in this issue is apart of TRO’s video, it’s an on and off segment throughout in order to present arguments about the criticisms of the film, especially the ones from Mauler. TRO posted it on his channel, he greenlit Quinton’s segments and if he didn’t care to comb through what Quinton had provide it and quality check then that’s entirely on him. It’s a collaborative work with TRO in the drivers seat. If there is something in Quinton’s part of the video TRO doesn’t stand behind it’s up to him whether he keeps it in or not and obviously he chose to keep it. And as the comment above said, Quinton refused to partake in a discussion so he’s not going to be present. The fact that TRO was willing to does speak to the quality of his character tho so good on him for being open to doing this.

I used to think that TRO was just standing up for a friend. However, after how things went with john swan and deorio, i've slowly come to the conclusion that he doesn't really care about anything but hiding the truth
This was actually what made me drop TRO as a content creator, the realisation that he just published and backed all this garbage. I just realised that if he could do that, then I couldn't really trust him as a content creator.
If TRO took out every single qualifier for his statements the video would actually be half the length. He honestly is describing things that are understandable and would help the guys in their analysis of the video and figuring out why it is the way it is. Like, saying “yeah in the beginning I was intending to paraphrase Rag’s statements because I didn’t want to confuse viewers with three videos playing, but when it got to editing I realized I needed clips so people didn’t have to take my word at face value and I had less risk of misrepresenting Rags; the final product though is a bit of ‘worst of both worlds,’ I should have been more attentive to context, and I would have found it easier if I had planned it from the beginning; sorry this learning had to negatively affect you guys” is a great admittance of fault, explanation, and contextualizing for the idea that clips are very confusing and poorly cited. And this is basically what he says, he just nervously dances around it and takes bites out of the edges of saying this while qualifying his statements with “from my perspective” a bunch.

TRO was in no doubt negligent in making his video and his argumentation against Rags in defense of IHE wasn’t substantive but I honestly feel kinda bad for him in the way he was unwittingly taken advantage of by Quinton. He used TRO’s platform to gain inches of ground in his effort to mischaracterize and misrepresent Mauler and Rags at TRO’s expense and unfortunately TRO didn’t do his due diligence in verifying what was in Quinton’s segments. Throughout this discussion you can kinda see the gears turning in his head with how he describes Quinton and at a certain point he kinda dejectedly realizes what actually happened, despite all his faults that did make me feel sorry for him.

I mean, or or, now just hear me out, you DON"T use the less used words in your videos. In the script phase use a thesaurus. They are wonderful things; you can even use them online. For clearer communication of your ideas, you see. It is a benefit a two-way win-win. It is not your responsibility to use lesser used words in order to teach your audience. Because now you have to take the time to discover what words are unknown to your audience, because there are more of them than you and thus the differences between them is much greater! So I for example will now waht "riven" means generally because I am a fan of the game made by CYAN. But who else is going to know it, you will have no idea! Therefore, the much better path is to err on the side of clearer communication of your points to your audience by picking the more commonly used words. You can use two words near each other or describe te less common word in other words, but if you don't feel like you have the time (or that takes time away from your points) then is it not simpler and better communication to go first to the more commonly used words?
Another point is that many people have distractions by accident (pets, family, doorbell, phone, etc. etc.) or on purpose (play a game turn off the sound in that game and listen to the video in the background for those taht have less free time and wish to do two things at once to get more done). Now they have to alt-tab to your video to pause the video to read the definition. Now, the advantedge to this is to keep eyes/attention on your video, I understand this purpose. That is why this is simply a minor point to consider.
If you want to have your videos start with a "word of the day" then that is your prerogative and seems like a good idea for you and your audience. That is a far better option (I would suggest placing it at the start of your video) and you can have your lesser used words AND your video with its points and clear communication at the same time!
