Good morning I am using SRT now for my video production. I am using the SRT with 2 mgbit latency and caller and listener. Combination with one pc only for video. And another pc for comercial connected with my main production pc. Love it make my life easier when producing my show. Premutiba.
Hey man i am totally sold on vMix... i use is A LOT !.. i do lots of video and audio, and looking for a afordable solution to work along side my VMC1 with NC1 i/o's i needed something to leverage the NDI. Now i use vMix all the time on my laptop for easy remote small shoots. J
I don't get it. Why is setting vmix as a "listener" configured in the "output" settings and the "caller" in the "input" settings? Can an input "send" data in vMix, and can an output "receive" data?
Because "listener" and "receiver" in terms of SRT have nothing to do with transmit or receive of video signal. The Caller initiates the SRT session. The Listener is waiting for the Caller. Once established, the media will flow according to whether or not it is an input or an output. This is important if you are trying to send or receive a stream that is behind say a corporate firewall (and IT will never open a permanent port for UDP traffic). Like if you had a remote shoot at a hotel and needed to send your output back to your main studio. You can port forward your own firewall/router setup at home but you have no control of the hotel firewall. If the Caller starts BEHIND the firewall, it is only calling your studio public IP and port that you already set up. This allows you to send traffic over the firewall even though you didn't port forward via the firewall!!! Super cool and extremely useful!
If you imagine you are the one outputting like Martin is, then the listener is the one who is outputting the production. Therefore the caller would be the one sending their production to the vmix listener. Is this correct?
Thank you for the tutorial Buy my question is how to send signal from SRT in vMix to the server Mean I do have a server so I don't know to use rtmp link to get a Signal but I wanna use SRT can you help me how I'm going to configure SRT from vMix then how I'm going to get that signal in my server??
Hi Martin. Just a quick note. Using your internal network as a sample does not help with trouble shooting using SRT in a real world. At least not for me. Tried to get it to work today with a client and had to resort to a vmix video call. If you guys up date this video, would be nice to use an external host. Also what other pieces of hardware or services you guys have test that would work with vMix since this video was created.. Thank you.
I would like to know if anyone has a video step by step how to set up Rendezvous I cannot use this function, although it is very necessary for my routine I can't find any video, about the subject. thanks.
hi! how to fine tune the h.264 encoding that is used by the SRT ? in particular use a more efficient profile than the typical "realtime" lazy one, cap the bit rate (currently a loose VBR), make sure a strict CBR is output, or even force pcr repetition interval to be in the DVB range?
Hello!! , I find it very interesting, but is it possible to have more than 1 person as receiver (caller) in the SRT protocol? I hope answer, thank you!!
I might have missed it (watched several times)... I want to send three separate inputs over SRT. Can each Output be set to a specific input? And will those require any additional set up not discussed in the video?
The drivers were updated last year to allow for 3 NVENC encodes across most of their cards- developer.nvidia.com/video-encode-and-decode-gpu-support-matrix-new
Whiles in vMix, and without opening or forwarding any ports, open and copy the url address from Web Controller. Just add "srt." to the begining and change the port number at the end, and voila! Web controller automatically detects the ip address you are operating from. This is for both listener and caller on the same network.
hello, I want to thank the vmix team for a great job they are doing. following the video, I have tied using the public IP address, its still not working
VMix sits are the heart of our television station. Great job guys!
The beauty of vMix is it supports protocols you have no idea what the use case would be for another year or two... so ahead of the game!

Whaoooooo..... Martin, you are a genius !

Very good, but how about the sync of multicamera?
I don't get it. Why is setting vmix as a "listener" configured in the "output" settings and the "caller" in the "input" settings? Can an input "send" data in vMix, and can an output "receive" data?
I absolutely agree with this. The way the tutorial was done is not intuitive at all. And to be honest I find it a bit lazy...

So is SRT the internet version of NDI ?
Thank you for the tutorial

Agreed this is a terrible demonstration of SRT input.. of course it will work using localhost lol
Hello! Can you please make a demo with a Public ip, I just try and didn’t get it work, Thanks
Yes this! Would appreciate this so much.
YES please! We all want it.
August 2020 and I cannot get OBS to stream SRT to vMix, yet as per the video I can get vMix to send SRT to itself, as per the video..
Love Your art banana at the wall behind U!!;)
I would like to know if anyone
has a video step by step
how to set up Rendezvous
I cannot use this function, although it is very necessary for my routine

Can you output via srt the program instead of an input just like in the stream section you can use rtmp?
Yes, you can output your program via SRT. Feel free to send our Support Team an email for further questions- www.vmix.com/contact-us.aspx
I might have missed it (watched several times)... I want to send three separate inputs over SRT. Can each Output be set to a specific input? And will those require any additional set up not discussed in the video?
[Question]what options are available for a person wanting to send SRT back to Vmix in another location would obs work
Will this work if the input a Mac computer?
Was it really that hard to show the settings for receiving remote desktop?
Why do you leave NDI set to "on" when you're dealing with an SRT stream?
Hi admin , we are using vmix 23+ , so we have try to connect 2 pc by SRT (Caller) to 1 pc (Workstation) , How can I setup it ? Thank you very much !
Is the limitation of simultaneous GeForce RTX hardware encode sessions 2 or 3 per system? I have seen 3 stated elsewhere.

Hi Martins Have tried this SRT Several times it doesn't work, Vmix didn't detect it, I did port forwarding open TCP / UDP still not it didn't work

@@boartt5529 what is "web controller?"
We want you to activate another srt: subrip translation files
hello, I want to thank the vmix team for a great job they are doing.
following the video, I have tied using the public IP address, its still not working
Hi, could you send through an email to our Support Team and they'll take a look - www.vmix.com/contact-us.aspx
use your internal IP address, that will work. the public ip address doesnt work
my vmix appear "error listening on srt socket" when i try put the LISTENER INPUT..... how can i fix that?
i cann't conncet the mobile ip camera with v mix from far distance which is connect the other network.plz help me
You could drop our Support Team an email to take a look- www.vmix.com/contact-us.aspx
My system shows ndi instead of srt
You must have Windows 10 for SRT
i dont know who might need this but using a public IP didnt work for me. you should rather use your private IP. that worked for me
