There is nothing you can do that makes me trust you more than using your own mistakes as examples of what not to do. This kind of thing is why I watch your videos despite not being a Christian or having any interest in converting. It comforts me to know that there is still some sanity left in the Christian world.
I definitely don't seek a digital platform and i certainly don't think if myself as an evangelist in the sense of deliberately going out trying to convert people...but one of my friends recently told me he wants to become catholic because of me. I was confused at first but once i really took it in, i cried. All my flaws, and yet i showed him without trying something he lacked and brought him to God. It was humbling and also felt like the greatest validation in my life
That’s amazing. I think „just“ living the faith is a neglected part of evangelism. I myself was converted not by any elaborate evangelism efforts but by one girl who lit a candle in a church I visited for (respectful) sightseeing purposes. She was so pious and reverent in her whole demeanor that something clicked for me and it started my journey back to the church. For some people such a passive approach may work even better than active evangelism. In the days of St. Paul the gospel needed to be spread but today everyone knows it in principal, actively trying to convince them can trigger a defense mechanism and actually hurt the efforts, sometimes it is better to let people come to realize the truth on their own. I hope people take stories like yours as encouragement to live their faith more openly, it is certainly something I am constantly trying to work on. Keep it up brother!

I have watched so many judgemental, intolerant, arrogant Christian YT videos, both Catholic and Protestant, I had to block them all. I saw one with the title ‘Is Father Casey the Antichrist?’ Yes, Satan can cite Scripture for his purpose of destroying souls, and I have seen a lot of this on YT. Glad you are back, Father.
He is not the anti christ. There is no christ or satan. But he is a grifter who belongs to an organisation that has a history and a present that was not too kind to children. So maybe not the devil but certainly not a good person in spite of his dress.

This was one of the main problems of the Pharisees, as I understand it. It's never about ME being CORRECT and the sense of secure-ness and superiority and safety that that comes from...Like you said, it's about converting hearts. It is simply about HIM.

I am so happy you are back. This was so sobering to hear. I was consuming videos and podcasts just a few years ago. Some of them I still find contributing to my growth but some others have taken a turn to an attitude that seems to me elitist and not what the gospel teaches us. These are all good points, and they illustrate that social media is neither good or bad, but it is our intent in using it that makes it good or bad. Utilize social media with self-aggrandizing motives, and you do a disservice to the Gospel. Utilize social media with a genuine love for the Gospel and a zeal to inform others of it, and it can be the most powerful evangelization tool.
I would have thought that, rather than just deleting videos with errors, a better approach would be to add correction notes (or maybe edit the video with corrections). This has the advantage of informing anybody else who might make the same error, though I appreciate it is more work. It also enables you to retain the valid parts, of course.
Thank you for this video. I’m trying to share the gospel and catholic life myself and I have to admit I sometimes focus on the wrong things like subscribers and followers, so i’ll just take this as a callout and will do better!
