- Опубликовано: 26 ноя 2020
- Learn how to quickly get rid off pesky super glue, CA residue without damaging plastic! Details at: www.vms-supplies.com/glue-rem...
Product is dedicated for PS - polystrene plastic. Also works with plastics such as HDPE, LDPE, PET, PC, PP. Always check if your object is compatible!
I recently purchased the remover after watching this video. I tried it out immediately and it worked perfectly. I couldn’t believe how the CA spill removed without damaging or softening the plastic. It works just like googone does on adhesives. Saved me a lot of work and potentially a whole project. Amazing stuff - thank you!
Happy to hear the product helped you out Artie, warms my heart! Happy modelling, Chris
@@Vmssupplies That stuff is definitely some sorcery! You certainly should be proud of what you’ve achieved. As a lifelong modeler, I can’t stress what a game changer this is. This should be in everyone’s inventory and supplies. I will tell all my fellow modelers. Thank you again and congrats!
There are no debonders for poly cements. You need to separate parts mechanically for instance by sliding a blade between them. Chris
Just discovered your channel and subscribed. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
Cheers Steve, glad you enjoyed it! Chris
This stuff works very well! I always use a piece of steel guitar string to apply CA glue, so I usually have no traces of CA glue on my models, but it can happen. I'm really glad I bought this product. Makes my work look even cleaner than before.

Another amazing product. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind comment, happy to hear that!
Interesting video and product Chris!
Keep on the fine work mate :)
Thanks buddy!
Awesome, finally a good product in big 30 ml bottle and the brush is a nice touch!
Cheers mate! Chris
I just received the debounder. Very nice and neat packaged. I can tell how professional you are from the moment I saw the package.
I will have to remove a big bloop of super glue from the dash board of my car before I am selling it in mint condition.
My son used handy super glue instead of a tape to place a paper with written items of our goods from inside of the car for custom clearance 😂.
I freaked out when I saw that but was too late.
I was so desperate in finding something to safely remove it without damaging the plastic and I found this video on RUclips.
Tomorrow I am starting the experiment. I believe it will come out nicely.
Wow that's quite a predicament Joy, but I'm positive the debonder will help out! Thanks a lot for your kind comment and support! Best regards to you and your family, Chris
@@Vmssupplies thank you. Will keep you posted after the outcome.

little late to the party but i am super glad i found this! Spilled superglue all over a SpaceX Superheavy model that took days to 3d print. Hopefully it will be long gone soon. also ordered the 5k flexy ca glue
Thanks a lot for your support. Good luck with recovering your SpaceX model! Chris
Great video. I'm gonna go look for this product.
Thanks a lot glad you enjoyed it!
Nice addition Chris, hope you are well . John .
Thanks John, glad you like the new member of the VMS family. :)
Hi. I cant seem to get this thing to work. For test purpose, I applied CA glue (both liquid and jelly type) on a spare plastic part. I applied the debonder after the CA glue has hardened. I apply them generously, and waited up to 15 minutes before scrubbing with a stiff brush. However, it doesnt seem to have good effect. It removed CA slightly, but even the thinnest part takes upto 2-3 multiple attempt before its fully removed. Im I doing something wrong? Really want this product to work, so any advice is welcome.
Reaction speed is determined by the substances in question and can vary depending on the glue type you are trying to remove. Best work with Flexy 5K glues the debonder is formulated for. In the end the debonder did work, a problem would be if it didn't work at all. Modelling is not a race, don't worry too much about the speed if you got the job done in the end, it's a success on your part. 😃
what mm of copper wire would you recommend for replacing hatch handles in 1/35 scale?
Depends on a model but usually 0.5-1mm will be OK Happy modelling, Chris
What brand ou f denonder is used for liquid cement plastic cement on pladtic model car kits,ty?
Plastic cements are pure solvents and work via so called solvent cementing, you can only separate parts mechanically, that is by cutting the joints with a blade, since there is no binding agent that you could dissolve as is the case with CA glues. Chris
Hi Chris...this was asked before, but I have Bob Smith Industries CA on a clear plastic aircraft canopy (Trumpeter kit)...given the time to activate, will this fog the clear plastic? Thanks...Rob
Hi Rob,
The debonder doesn't fog plastic but the glue itself can uncover a stain when it is removed. This can be remedied by polishing, but it's also possoble that there is no staining at all, it's a very particular process and every model is different.
With sensitive parts like this best always first try the debonder on a left over sprue to make sure the polystyrene is unmodified and fully compatible.
We send items from PL, many packages to US every day, they pass US customs without problems as they come with proper declarations and are registered electronically with customs, no worries about that.
Best regards,
Chris
Hello,
Does the VMS Glue Remove CA Debonder work on car leather seat without damaging the leather? Thank you.
Should work, but a test on a rarely seen part of the seat is advised as there is plenty of leathers out there. Chris
I might be late to the comment section but I had a question. I use super glues for my Japanese Rement models and I have a bit of superglue finger print marks on some surfaces of my models from holding the pieces together so they can dry. Would this work to remove that?
Hello, Product works with any CA glue. Chris
I recently got some super glue on the Autoart Crown Vic after custom painting it, will this remove it without damaging the custom paint at all?
Hello, Chances are 50/50 the debonder is a solvent so it depends on many factors: type of paint, thickness of paint, is it well curded? Then there is the glue how old is the stain, how much glue is there, did the glue react with paint etc. 50% it will work, 50% the paint will dissolve.
Looks the product is very gentle to plastic, but what about painted surface? Especially painted with acrylics? Because my biggest issues with CA glue not being where to belong is when building ships and with them you very often use a superglue on already painted surface (like when attaching PE rails to almost finished model) and that's when I would really have use for such product.
Hi, a remover will react with acrylic paint, it's chemically impossible to formulate a remover that can remove CA but not acrylic paint. I believe this task would be possible to accomplish with a specialized varnish, we might think of developing a varnish like this. Thanks for the tip! Best regards, Chris
What did you use to remove the super glue after using the debonder. And, does it not effect the CA under the PE?
Hi Robert, you just wipe the gel, that CA turns into, away with a paper towel, cloth etc. The glue that is under PE is not affected as it had minimal contact (edge vs. full surface) with the debonder.
Will these work on Metal Earth models as well? They are made of sheet steel (possibly stainless steel) . Mercy knows I could use it!!!!
Yup!
Would this debonder work on a vinyl toy figure without messing up the paint?
Hello, Product can attack paint so one needs to make trials to know.
What's the music that was used in this video.
Various tracks by Tim Beek.
@@Vmssupplies Righteous thanks alot man!
Also FOR THE LOVE OF UNCLE SAM RESTOCK THAT DEBONDER!!!
@@ManFromTheFizz Sure! Will be producing 10.000 units 2nd half of may to be available via mail order and stockists. Will be sending a small restock to Michtoy and Hobbyworld on Monday , you can reserve yours with them I believe.
This is amazing But I have a question I saw the comment about acrylic paint, but does the remover affect other forms of paint to I just want to make sure I won’t remove paint off a model
Thanks! If the paint is properly cured (a coat is a month old at least) and well applied (coat thickness; layers) it may withstand short contact with the remover. One needs to conduct a test in any case to make sure. Chris
Thanks so much this was so helpfull
If the debonder is used on an action figure, will it remove the paint? I have a relatively rare GI Joe figure that someone glued the waist to the torso. I want to remove it without damage to the plastic or the factory paint job.
Hello Sebastian, The debonder is a mild solvent so it has the potential of affecting paint. It really depends on the paint, some paints get dissolved quickly, some after many hours which makes them basically unaffected. The problem in this case may be the glue melding with the pant job, if this is the case, it's likely the glue will be removed and the paint along with it. If the glue is on the painted areas of the figure chances of clean removal are then smaller unless it's some super tough paint type, we never know what they used there. Best give it a shot and see how it goes, if the paint starts dissolving simply stop and it will dry up, if the paint is holding up well you can proceed with removal. Thanks for watching, Chris
how to use if i glued my model kit part between the joint i mean how to dissolve if the glue is inside the part, i dont know how to explain properly...emm im not to clean leftover superglue mark i wanted to remove the part hope you can explain
If there is physical contact between the glue and remover the joint will weaken and you will be able separate the parts. Chris
I spilled super glue on the front of one of loud speakers. The surface has a thick vinyl wrapping. Do you think this will work without destroying the vinyl wrap?
You need to check, as those substances vary in composition chances are 50/50 it will be OK.
Shame i can't buy it on your website. Would be really useful for a projekt I'm working on!

Does the debonder affect paint?
I’ve got a painted plastic model that has glue residue on it and I was wondering if I could use the debonder on the model without worrying about the paint being removed.
Paint will be most likely be affected unless it's some heavy duty type or factory paint. Sorry. Chris
@@Vmssupplies It is indeed factory paint. I’ll keep looking though. Thank you for your insight.
Interesting product, does it work on plastic cement? Like Tamiya extra thin cement?
Thanks! Plastic cement works by so called "solvent cementing". The cement is not the cementing medium itself. It is a solvent that dissolves plastic, the dissolved plastic surface becomes a sticky mass which is the glue itself, once the solvent dissipates from the plastic the bond is complete. If you apply a bit of plastic cement such as Tamiya Extra Thin or our own Styrene cement ECO on a sheet of paper it will not leave a trace - all the solvent will just evaporate. So to answer your question there are no debonders for plastic (polystyrene) cements as the glues are just pure solvent blends so there is no cementing medium to dissolve there. You can however use the cement itself to reactivate a bond between two parts and then jam a modelling blade between to separate them. Usually it's just enough to use the blade though and simply cut between the parts.
@@Vmssupplies wow, thank you so much for the explanation, I followed your advice and I reapplyied liquid cement to debond two parts and they got separated.
Bye the way I have used some of your products like clean slate and matt varnish and they are top quality.
Cheers
Does this work with resin as well or will it corrode the resin?
Hello, it will not damage resin. Best regards, Chris
Does this product works on die cast models such as hobby master and will it damage the paint on it?
We haven't tried, depends on the paint composition. Removing CA glue off of painted surfaces is a quiet of challenge as any debonder acts as a solvent. Some paints can withstand limited contact with debonder, some will dissolve. I'd say it's 50/50 chance. Happy modelling, Chris
Hey I'm having this issue with a Hobbymaster model as well... have you tried it?
What about if some CA runs on a painted surface? I tried this but it seemed to be taking away the paint, so abandoned the idea quickly before it had a chance to do damage.
As any remover this one is a solvent, but unlike some aggressive solvents like acetone, this is compatible with polystyrene and will not damage plastic while removing the glue. Solvents capable of dissolving CA glues can't be applied over paint they will react with it. One is supposed to clean up the CA job prior painting. Thanks a lot for taking time to watch the video and your feedback. Chris

Will this debonder remove any paint from the miniature?
Yes, in most cases, but how much and how quickly depends on the paint type.
Any hope if you get faint super glue mark on a painted model?
Depends on the paint and how well cured the coat is, paint may dissolve instantly or after 5 minutes, allowing the glue removal. Tricky if you ask me. Chris
Will this also remove glue off photo etch with tiny rivets
Hi, Yes, it will remove the glue from both plastic an metal surfaces. Chris
Does this work too for clear styrene without damaging it?
Hi James, Yes, clear styrene will remain unaffected. Happy modelling, Chris
@@Vmssuppliesawesome! Now to source one out :)
When will this be available in the US
Hello a bulk package is on its way to Michtoy, if customs show grace it may be with them by the end of next week. :)
Does this debonder contain acetone or Heptane & Nitromethane?
Is it safe on rubber?
It contains none of those. I believe it's OK to use on rubber, it's very mild, would have to recheck though, we've done testing long time ago, best send us a reminder message to contatc@vms-supplies.com so we let you know. :) Chris

I have been using this product on and off for a few months, without having watched any tutorials though so I am still figuring it out. I really love that I don't have nasty CA remnants on delicate parts, but I do have a question. On occasions you have to flood the surface like shown in the video, I am assuming that the desirable CA underneath the PE parts also turns into a gel. I have noticed that this compromises the bond between the parts so careful planning and caution is required while using the debonder, but does the CA gel return to its normal state, if left to dry? Or does the debonder permanently alter the properties of the CA glue?
The debonder acts mostly on the surface of CA it doesn't penetrate it a lot unless you would submerge the parts for prolonged periods of time. Moderation is the key. I believe dissolved glue will remain some of its properties once it dries up again. Chris
Would this work over laquer paint?
It will react with the paint unless it's a very strong paint cured ages ago, then there is a chance the glue will dissolve first.
@Vmssupplies I figured lol. Do you know a way to get super glue off gaianotes laquer?
can i remove normal plastic glue with it as well?
Hi normal plastic cement, is pure solvent it has no solids in it, so there is nothing to debond. The only way clean this up is by sanding and separating parts using physical force. Still some plastic cements like UHU, can contain solids. To know what your glue is please dispense some on a glass or metal sheet and let it dry. If it leaves a bumpy stain it has solids in it, and our debonder would help. If there is no bumpy stain, the glue just evaporates, then there is nothing to debond here. Make sure to check out our improved video with commentary: ruclips.net/video/sJeNAGTt7mM/видео.html
Does it affect resin models?
Nope. 😉
does this damage paint?
It's solvent so it will react, but it depends, paint on a diecast model can hold longer than model paint. Trials are advised.
How does it work on diecast painted and printed models?😊
We haven't tested, a trial on a spare is advised to see if the paint dissolves along the glue or not. Chris
