A funny case: my grandfather always had high blood pressure, so the doctors would tell him to restrict his sodium intake, but then he needed surgery and they drew blood work and his blood sodium level was low enough that the surgeon told him to put salt on his food to get the level up. Clearly whatever was going on with his hypertension wasn't sodium related.
There are so many studies about everything that contradict each other.. I believe best to do everything in proportions, nothing too much or too less 😀😀😀😀😀 great job Eric 👍👍👍👍👍 always love your fun presentations ❤❤❤❤❤
I have found that natural sodium found in produce is the best way for us to ingest sodium over sprinkling salt on our meals but I don't need to watch my sodium intake as much as my husband so like you said, every individual is different! Great video as always!
Awesome video! Thank you so much for this 💗. Great concise information. All the best. Peace and good fortune and good health to you and your family. ❤️ 🥰😃
Great research! I like how you do your homework and present both sides. I'll say it again you are the most underrated channel im subscribed to by a long shot. I need to check your channel more often because youtube doesn't notify me enough
Great video Eric! I just emailed my mom this video, she was in the hospital recently for 6 days due to edema. You confirmed some of what the Dr. said about sodium intake ❤
Good info Erick. I cut out using "extra" salt years ago since there's so much in the processed foods we eat anyway. But as more of my food comes from my garden I may have to add a bit back in at some point.
ok!!! my doctor just told me to watch my salt intake because I have Kidney stones, Is there a blood test or something to see how much salt is in your system??
I don't know medically if there is a direct test for that. I would think there should be something that can test that level much like anything else in your blood.
Sodium is not an issue but lack of potassium and/or overall water intake is what leads to high blood pressure and such. Potassium is high in fruits and veggies so basically just eat a variety of whole foods and use salt to taste.
Great topic and fantastic delivery 😊 Always learn something on this channel!!!
Thanks so much Nena! It means a lot. 🌱🙂🌱
Love the Pixar Soul & Big Hero 6 references.
Thanks so much! 🌱🙂🌱
Fantastic video! Really well done.
Thanks a lot!
Hey Erick .. amazing info

Thanks for sharing your story! This is very relevant to what I was talking about how sodium isn't necessarily always related to high blood pressure.

Great point! That's why I try and always present things as a matter of pay attention to your body and take things in moderation.
@@EccentricNature exactly 😀❤️😉👍
Such great information! Didn't know lots of this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was a fantastic video today. I learned so much. Superb as always, Mr. Eric
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it.

Thanks so much for the insightful comment. It is great to get it naturally if you can.
..a teaspoon a day keeps those craps away
Lol! Yes indeedy!
Wonderful, my Friend. I like it very much.
I enjoyed watching. Have a blessed time. Greetings
Many thanks! I hope you have a great week too!

Thanks so much! 🌱🙂🌱
I hope all is well with you too!
Great info Erik. You put a lot of work in this video. Thank you.
Much appreciated 🌱😊🌱
I use Himalayan salt. So I get Mg and other great minerals.
Excellent! I am planning to go into the different salts a little bit later.
I am more worried about my latest medication than salt intake. It advises to stop taking if it causes heart failure.
Hope the medication works out for you!

Thank you, I really appreciate it! It's easy to lose sight of sometimes as I keep trudging along making videos. So thanks! 🌱🙂🌱
I’ve found the best way to keep salt in moderation is to add other spices to my food. I especially like to use hot pepper and lemon.
Absolutely. Moderation is always the way with food.
Great video Eric! I just emailed my mom this video, she was in the hospital recently for 6 days due to edema. You confirmed some of what the Dr. said about sodium intake ❤
Hope your mom is feeling better!
As long as you don't take too much....we use a lot of herbs and spices in our food, this makes it taste good without using too much salt🐺🌸🐶
Excellent way to go!
OOH no 🙀 I love Salty snacks over SWEET any day. I will try and be careful with my Salt intake for sure now. Thanks for the INFO
I'd like to say I'm salty, but I love a good chocolate.

It's okay to add a little, especially if you aren't having many processed foods.
wow cancer crazy 😮
Only if you are really excessive mostly.
Well that was interesting. Basically a pinch is fine. Then you see celebrity chefs tipping bucketloads of it into their concoctions - ugh!
They do tend to go a little crazy with it on the shows. It does make me wonder what the actual sodium content of those dishes are.
Hello Eric, this was really interesting. I just love your way of informing us. NonnaGrace💕
Glad you enjoyed it. Looking forward to getting the rest of my salt videos done. It's gonna be non-stop salt for the next couple months.
hi brother wow I didn't know this nice to know 😊
Thanks! Hope you are having a great week.
thanks for sharing have a bless day brother Eric 🙏 prayers and peace of Jesus hugs ❤
Thanks so much you all!

What movie is the clip at @4:06 from?
That's from Pixar's Soul. Great movie! Check it out. :)
Epic
Thanks so much! 🌱🙂🌱

Excellent thoughts. low potassium really can mess with things.
How confusing. As someone who has high blood pressure I try and limit my intake when cooking but I do enjoy a bag of crisps with my lunch.
Yeah, I was only mildly surprised with how much salt isn't a bad guy like people try and make it seem.
