A lot of talent on the offensive side of the ball for NU. Turner Gill, Mike Rozier, Irving Fryar, Dave Rimington, Dean Steinkuhler, Roger Craig, Jamie Williams.
This is the game where Roger Craig broke lose on a big run up the middle, he was headed for the endzone after some amazing cuts. Lost the football at about the 15 yard line or so with the nearest defender 12 yards behind him. I think Craig and Rozier both had just under a hundred yards on very few carries. Husker Defense had Jeff Merrel, All American defensive end Jimmy Williams who at the time was the fastest player in school history. He ran an incredible 4.34 at 6"3" 225 pounds. His average for three 40's during Winter Conditioning was 4.4 breaking Jarvis Redwine's team record average of 4.41. Redwine's best time was 4.35. Also Jimmy's brother Toby Williams at D Tackle. Allen Lyday played for years in the NFL as a Safety. Jimmy played most of his long Pro career I believe in Dallas or Detroit.
Thanks for posting! You dont happen to have the show from after the 1978 OU-NU game?
