Guys basically in this song the actress is doing a festival ritual called "karwa-chauth" , a hindu festival . In this festival, wives keep a fast for the long life of their husbands in which they neither eat nor drink anything throughout the day. And when the moon rises at night, as per rituals their husbands make them drink water and then their fast is over.You can see in the scene that the husband is giving water to his wife from a glass.
Ranbir Kapoor enters the arena he will get the box office records 🎉🔥
The song feature the eve of karwa chauth, in which wife took a fast in that she doesnt consume anything not even water and only consume water and food after seeing the full moon and her husband face through a JHANNI thats was she was doing , and wife tooks the fast for a long life of her husband. And the feet touching is a gesture of showing respect..
So the whole song is beautifully placed in the movie.. as he going for job that can lead into his death.

@@relatablenerds Guys, actually it's done for showing respect to older ones. More significantly, we always respect elders by touching their feet & offering them our obeisance! And between husband-wife relationships, wives touch their husbands' feet to do that cz husbands are always older than wives here or, traditionally too the same thing is obeyed if in any case husband becomes younger than his wife! Here Ranbir touches his wife's feet to show her respect but not to offer any obeisance cz he's older than her. 😅

It is very difficult to explain the symbology of this song for those who are not from India. There is a lot of culture going on here and a lot of unsaid things which means quite a lot for us Indians. I will leave it at that.

He is playing a flawed character here. The director portrayed a flawed character and a toxic relationship in his previous film as well. The characters are complex enough to think that what they are doing is love, but it truly is just selfish behavior that the girl here has to put up with, thinking that's love. So there's 100% toxic characteristics that this character is going to display as well. Also yes he did say "Don't marry anyone else". Which gives us the audience a glimpse of his character in the film
