Wow! Your demonstration worked perfectly! I found it even easier to use two pieces of straightened coat hanger instead of two screwdrivers to disengage the lock cylinder tabs from their seated position. Thank you for the extremely valuable video.
Thank you for the knowledge. Bought a house had locks put on and they were opposite each other. It bothered me so your video helped me fix the problem.
Man, I must have watched 10 different videos on flipping the kwikset lock orientation, then I found your video...clear, concise. Just what I needed :-)
This ACTUALLY works. You saved me so much aggravation. Few months ago I threw the first one away because no matter what I did, I just ended up with a table full of parts. Finally bought a new one at Americas favorite big box store, and right out of the box the key cylinder was up side down meaning (at the top). Wish I had found your video before dissembling the first one. Great job!
Thank you for the video. Needed to know how to do so without specialty tools and how to rotate and reattach. Other videos did not show these steps and all your steps were very clear. Excellent. I was able to adjust my lock thanks to your video.
Great video. I love that you showed what you released from the outside. It really made clear as to why we were using two screwdrivers and where to put them.
I knew this could be done with screw drivers so I didn't have to buy the tool for it. I just didn't know the internal workings of it. Once I saw this it took me a few attempts and I got it out and put back the way I want it. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks for this. Was trying to figure out how to do this and every video starts with "so you need this tool". Nah, what I need is to get this damn lock installed right now.
I used the tool provided as a guide for a 3” nail to get the first tab started and a screw driver for the second one. Jees that’s hard when you don’t have the right stuff
On the Lever handle set that I bought, you don't even need to take out the locking stem. The cover and lever that you remove to bolt it on reveal the tumbler which isn't held in place like that but with a C-clip. Take the clip off and flip the cylinder 180
Thanks Christopher. This video helped me a lot. The knob instructions gave me nothing about how to flip the keyhole. Much appreciated. 👍
Worked great. I had two left-hand-swinging doors with upside-down lock cylinders. Now both are in the typical position. Thanks.

Thanks. I like how when you got it out you showed exactly where to push with the screw drivers.

Perfect demo! Worked like a charm. Instructions that came with the knob say: "ok if flipped" no.... no that's definitely not ok, kwikset! Thanks!

Worked for me! That upside down lock had been bugging me since I moved in. Thank you!
Just did this. Flipped 6 knobs and deadbolt sets. Easier than I thought using common tools. Thanks!
Thanks for video. After watching a few others, my husband was finally able to figure it out from your video.
Thank you for sharing this! Saved me a return trip to the hardware store.
Thank you my friend. Short sweet to the point video that told me exactly what I needed to know. No more, no less.*****
Thank you so much. This is the best video on this topic.
Great tutorial. Did it in less than 5 minutes. Thank you so much!
Awesome tutorial! I’ve been annoyed with one of my door knobs turned the wrong way for years. Your video helped me fix it in 5 minutes!
Thank you for the video. It was easy to understand.

Glad that it helped you out. I posted this because alot of my friends were frustrated saying they needed to buy a tool. No you don't.
Im glad I’m not the only one who appreciates the value of an Extron screwdriver…
When in doubt RUclips it. Thanks for the video!
Almost drove back to Lowe’s. Thanks my man
Great video !!! Helped a lot !
Thanks for the help. I would never have figured it out myself.

Worked like a charm thanks so much for the great video
Thanks man. I managed to get the cylinder out with more bulky tools but it wasn’t easy.
Now my wife will rest easy at night... For tonight, then she'll find more problems with house.
Thank you! Our old lock we dealt with it upside down but this one we were determined to get it right.
thank you so much. stopped my headache
Dead bolt locks by turning the key to the right and the handle lock turned to the left now? How do you change the lock direction on the handle ?
Nice work, I know I'll run into that situation and that's the difference in a hack job and a nice job!
So much easier than the other videos I've seen
Thx! Worked as you said

Take the clip off and flip the cylinder 180
After I switched the cylinder the springs seem lose and the center thing comes out easily without me trying to move spring, did I ruin lock?
invest in a kwikset removal tool and then you won't need screwdrivers. It pops right out.
Thank you!!
So, why didn't you use the Kwikset tool instead of the screwdrivers??????????????????????????
The point of this vid is to show that you don't need to spend money on a tool you don't need. Just use the tools that most people have.
Money? Kwikset provides it free of charge.@@christopherdietz881
Can you do this just for 90 degrees instead?
Not sure. Don't think so.
Thanks!
Thanks. Got it!
not all kwikset lock cylinders are the same
Thank you for the video, quick question for you. Do you know if installing a lock upside down (purposely) would make it any harder to pick?
Thanks
There's also a tool that helps with this.
What a pain in the ass. Why don't they come that way from the mfg??? I'd have to go back and flip every one. PITA!!!
I miss seeing real Craftsman tools :/
