With that month long celebratory tour, I'm not sure if he will do well. But I predict both Gukesh and Arjun to end up at the top of the table. In 2023, in their first Tata Steel Masters event, both of them ended up at the bottom of the table. It would be fun to see them being at top this time. Fabi seems like the heavy favorite going into this, but then again, the last time he came at the top of the table (2nd in Sinquefield 2024) was in view of getting circuit points, and only Alireza was trying for win other than him -- while Gukesh & Pragg went for straight draws there. In Tata Steel, most players will try for win, including Gukesh and the dark horse Wei Yi. Wei Yi is one of those players I can't predict anything for. He was playing like a top beast in the first half of 2024, and then hasn't been the same player since that loss against Gukesh in the Olympiad. The potential is there, let's see if he comes in with the right mindset.
@@SantanaRoy-fx9eu The WACA felicitation was on 5th, then there was this breakfast visit to Vishy's house and another felicitation this weekend. And who knows how many media interviews and politician/celebrity visits he was pestered with. Doesn't seem like he had enough time to prepare or zone in even till this week.
What's the format? Round robin of what? Classical chess, rapid/blitz? Could've been more clear SID V coz in one of your earlier videos you said chess has three formats classical, rapid and blitz.
It should be 2 Indians in the field Arjun and Gukesh plus 1 challenger winner leon luke mendonca. Now 5 indians! but you can blame the organizers India owns tata steel.
Gukesh should win this cuz his first aim is to breach 2800 elo mark and with magnus not playing .This makes him heavy favorite
