Jlo did well, she come more friendlier in no time. I am a big beleiver in stick & string and it has always worked for me to use it on horses & ponies to get them started with leg touch and lift up their hooves. Another success with a nice mare 😉
She’s an incredibly sweet horse, in time she should make someone a lovely companion. She’s a bit uncertain but willing to try, it will be great to see her progress.
We love you, Camera Guy. If you weren’t filming, we couldn’t watch. And fair play to you, you’re normally totally focused (😄) and en pointe. No worries, Tyler. Booooooo to the haters 😂
Nice mare.....she is pretty quick minded and seems willing! I am looking forward to seeing her progress towards finding a forever home. She is very easy on the eyes....good conformation....nice head and eyes!
Thankyou! for posting these videos with J-Lo. I have a rescue pony that is very bracy and doesn't understand pressure. She is similar in what she does , spinning round and taking off which she has learnt to escape any steady pressure. the rescue centre has done a partial job in getting her tame, but that is it. In order to get her safer and happier working with humans I am going through the basics , as you do, but we dont have a solid fenced area to work in ,so the process will be slower, and small steps. I like the idea of taking them to some nice grass and having a bit of undemanding chill time before you get into the training is great. This must be the hardest time for a learning horse when there's still a lot of opposition reflex . I have quite a bit of down time with scratches and chill which she really likes.Looking forward to more with JL
New camera person? Judging how She’s reacting, my guess is She’ll be a not so hard to train horse. She’s not nearly as bad as She could be. And She really is a nice looking horse.
She is super cute. And she really wants to please. She is going to make a great horse for an intermediate to experienced horse person. ❤❤. If I didn’t already have 6 with 3 more in uteri I would be inquiring.
...as the horse moves away in fear ... he does NOT follow but makes it clear a little at a time to the horse that fear is not being rewarded... Look closely at 10:40 for dog handling... Dog handling is more common and nearly no one works WITH a dog but tries to overcome its fear !
Great video as always, Ryan! I’m always curious about rescue horses- so often the result of ignorant people! JLo is a lucky girl, finally has a phenomenal teacher to show her the ropes (pun intended 😊) . Thank goodness they took her out of the auction and gave her a second chance. She’s a good looking smaller horse- to me she looks like she has some Morgan blood maybe mixed with QH? Anyone else have a guess?
It's interesting how she shakes her head when something she doesn't like is happening. It doesn't seem to be a medical issue, but it can be a very good indicator to the trainer/handler for what she's thinking or how she feels.
J-Lo looks a lot like the horse I had many years ago. I don’t know what color u would call her. To me she is a reddish brown, with almost black mane and tail. I love her color an she is doing what u r asking of her
I’m not trying to be rude whatsoever but I’m worried about this little gals arm ? Eczema? If so, I’m sorry and pls forgive me !! Id just like to help is all ! I love your rescue and can’t wait to learn more about it !! ❤🐴❤️
I have a 4 year old blm Mustang. Never bit or mouthy well recently he has become mouthy wants to put a lot of different things in his mouth. Has went to grab our shirts and accidentally bit our skip grabbing our shirts. I've tried several different things that I was told to try and isn't working. Any advice or ideas to try. Thank in advance and love your videos
Well, I don’t know if this will help, but it’s worth a try. When your horse gets near you with his nose, grab his face with two hands and rub his face. Pet his nose, pet his cheeks, keep petting until he wants to stop. Keep doing this every time he is trying to grab you, just keep petting and rubbing. Then you need to teach him boundaries. He needs to stay out of your space, unless you invite him in.
@4hoofs4ever007 Sadly, that won't work. We tried it. Even though at one point he was completely wild, he just doesn't care. He actually likes it. It doesn't make him more mouthy. By doing this, he just likes the scratches in his mind. We try and desensitize more than normal people when it comes to their faces because we have kids around a lot, and one of the first things kids want to do is pet their nose and face. He mainly grabs objects. It's just when he does grab our shirt I don't want him getting our skin on accident. He doesn't bite on purpose what so ever.
@@caramiller5670 I’ve got a mouthy colt, he’s always grabbing ropes or my hat, but he’ll also go for miscellaneous objects. I’ve been ‘feeding” him my fingers and even between his teeth(I wouldn’t do that if I thought he might try to viciously bite), when he bites down hard I’ll react with a lot of energy and he’ll hop away or take a few steps, then I’ll go pet on him again and offer him my fingers. I guess I’m doing it like I would teach a puppy bite sensitivity. He did bite down hard a few times and I gave him a light smack, but now if his jaw gets tight when my fingers are between his teeth I’ll just completely relax the muscles in my hand and arm and he seems to immediately relax his jaws. I’m careful not to feed treats too often, and only right after he respectfully softens. I think he would be a cribber in a stable, but he’s a yearling pasture horse in a small herd now
I ❤ LOVE ❤️ this Bay mare! I DON'T understand or agree with kill pens!! Oklahoma is suppose to be a "COWBOY" state (so I have heard) that state is no more cowboy than a pile of ants!! Kill pens SHOULD BE BANNED EVERYWHERE!! My opinion.
Whatcha doing when your horse decides to leave you while taking them panels with them 😂 just saying I NO LONGER USE Them if not stationed firmly to the ground.
Stop cutting out all the real-life stuff. that makes you look, well not truthful. There are many times it did not work out in this session that you cut out. that is the good stuff and what you RUclips trainers will leave in, that is were the learning happens.

J-Lo is a very special horse. It's nice to see the progress in the first session.
Hard to believe a horse like this would end up in a kill pen. It would have been such a waste. I'm so glad she was rescued and now in Ryan's hands.
No one bothered to figure her out
She strikes me as being very willing once she understands what is wanted. And she very quick to learn. She’s going to make someone a great horse.
Agreed she quickly figures things out, and is trying to read the cues.
Nice progress but def thanks to Ryan’s skill. She is a pretty mare. Love all the licks and chews at the end. Will be great to follow!
as always I love the video. Just a little feedback: the focus finder was a liiittle bit annoying this time.. :)
Thanks, this mare is exactly the same as the mare I wrote you about on Patreon, great video..although I kept cleaning my glasses
Lovely horse. Powerful bum!! ❤
I really respect your approach, so patient.
Thank you 🐎

Camera issues? Other than that, it was very interesting to see how she grew in just a small nick of time. She will be a great horse for someone.
I love your patience and kindness he show to this horse

She’s a beautiful mare ❤ Great video 👍
Camera guy says sorry for the focus issues🙋🏻♂️😬
It’s a fancy “feature” not an issue hehehe

@@lizarutherford2477 Well thank you😀
I thought the focus moments added a bit of nice flare segway to the next ideas... I liked it 🙋♀️😅

Very excited to follow her journey 👍
Sweet girl. Someone will be lucky to have her she's ready.
Great video!
Thanks for sharing! This will be very interesting to follow!
Can’t wait to see the next session! 🙏🏼🤠
Awesome!
She is a great-looking horse and would be very pretty under saddle. I hope she can get there.

J-Lo seems extremely receptive, I am very interested to see where she ends up.

She followed you willingly. The whip terrified her. That is key. She has been abused, at least in her mind
what is the camera guy doing? camera guy- com'n what are you doing? don't be the thorn in the video

I’m guessing standardbred! More or less lol

Camera going out of focus is distracting! Ryan’s I love your work , I have been one of your fan for years now , keep up all of your good work
You should put the plastic cover in between panels so rearing horse doesn't get foot caught in in between panels
How do you place the zip tie on the halter?
J-Lo looks a lot like the horse I had many years ago. I don’t know what color u would call her. To me she is a reddish brown, with almost black mane and tail.
I love her color an she is doing what u r asking of her
she would be considered a "Bay" coloring
i wish it would have had a warning label to take some dramamine before watching this
what is wrong with the focus
Hey Terri, take some dramamine before you watch this.
@j.daniels7429 before would have been helpful
it's a little late bwahahahaaahahaha

Lord Jebus this camera 😵💫
Did someone mistreat this horse?
Wonder if she remembers Ryan from first time they met........
Probably better than Ryan does lol

I agree the auto focus was irritating. Otherwise excellent
Hey, quit messing with the camera; leave th focus alone, you are not helping!!! ☹😮💨😮😥😠👺👹🙈🙉🙊👎👎👎👎
Camera person, turn off autofocus.
Nice camera work 🤢😂

I am getting sick from the camera man. Is he drunk?
Hmmm...camera action weird......very distracting....looses focus.
Whomever is videoing.... its too bad because I stopped watching about 6 minutes into it..... too annoying Good content but ugh the videographer
did you get a new camera operator?
💌
Forget the horse. Train your camera man on how to focus his camera.
