When playing in Champ 2, the games feel so sweaty and looking at this, my main takeaway is to chill and watch the opponents. Instead of trying to beat them to everything, let them get a touch when it's not dangerous and let them overcommit.
It's kind of funny, in the champ 1 videos Leth was waiting for the opponents to throw the ball away and in this video the opponents were waiting for Leth to throw the ball away. Character development at its finest.
Hilarious that u think that will work. What we c2s don't have is leths perfect positioning, perfect reads, perfect touches. Also your teammate will own goal. Idk respond back in a week and tell me how it goes.
if you're not already, watching replays of your losses can help a lot. It definitely showed me where I was screwing up and overcommitting or rotating poorly.
When you started this series I was barely champ 1 in 2s, just by watching and applying some of the positioning and decision making tips from the series so far I am now almost to champ 3! (Champ 2 div 3) I haven’t been grinding or anything either (only been able to play a few hours per week) just winning 90% of my games so ranking up fast. It really is amazing how just slowing down and using my brain more lets me win games even without mechanics

@@henriquearruda6464 But leth takes way more 50's than flakes does, and flakes waits for the ball to roll a lot rather than touching it, booms the ball a lot less to not give possession, and uses powerslide cuts more. you get rolled because playing like he does doesnt work without the ability to have perfect car and ball control, and perfect reads and reactions. hes not uncomfortable anywhere in any situation so he can just loligag around the field and make it look simple by waiting for a mistake. those high flicks and pops are just not a thing people do easily in c2. its incredibly frustrating to watch because you start to realize theres no cheat code and no need for a road to ssl. the only thing you need is more practice and hours in the game. theres nothing he can teach you after like diamond because it all comes to be better with the ball and making the right touches. once youre able to make the ball and your car do exactly what you want, youll easily rank up.

Hey Leth, just wanted to let you know that these videos have been really helpful for me. I've been diamond 3 for about a year now but after watching these videos I'm really starting to feel a big improvement in my play and hopefully I will finally break into champ soon. Your advice specifically about taking your time and not always playing so fast has been the crucial thing for me, and I picked up some tips on how to win more 50/50s from these videos too. My mechanics aren't the greatest but your videos have shown me that I don't need to be able to do anything super crazy in order to climb. One thing that I think you can bring some more clarity to is how to know when to play fast vs slow as that's a problem I've been having when applying what I've learned from you into my ranked games. Thanks a lot for making these videos, and keep up the good work! :D
Because of this series i started playing passive and i wait a lot to see what the opponent does, but everytime i watch i am flabbergasted that youre still playing even more passive than me. There is so much that i would go for and you didnt and it ended up working out for you in oppisite to me. I guess things are scary nit to go for sometimes lol
Oh man i feel that 100%. While watching, there's things I'd go for(and it not work out more than 50% of the time) but he doesn't and it ends up working out. I got a lot to learn still.
Yeah it’s 100% a confidence thing. When I play with my mates in diamond I notice that a lot of the time the mistakes that lead to goals are ones where they’ve been panicking thinking “I must go now” where in reality you’ve normally got way more time than you think. They’ll quite often say “why haven’t you gone yet” and it’s simply because I know I don’t need to because it’s not the right moment. But I think that’s because the higher you rank up the more you watch the other players all the time so you know how much time you really have and can make better decisions rather than snap judgements.

Hey Leth. A good idea for these road to ssl games would be to play in some 2s tournaments when your in certain ranks. That way your getting more games in those ranks and it doesn’t feel as rushed. Cheers! 😊
lmao @Gregory Ballchasing, double committing, missing everything and being out of position.. yet blames his teammate. Being in diamond i see this every other game 😆
Ive always had deep respect to Leths advanced mechanics, superb reading across all custom maps and mods and most importantly his super cool attitude towards both great plays and funny mistakes. Not to mention he is playing people who I struggle against on my rank and effortlessly beating them using like no speed at all, only his brains. The best RL youtuber out there and by far the most universal RL player out there in my opinion. No matter how weird the custom map is, Leth will shine in it. Edit: I wanna agree with leth onto mechanics being not that important across champ ranks. Notice gregory being very skilled in the air but expending all the boost, leaving to recover with no boost in overcommited position and your teammate in 1v2 defence. He can blame his garbage teammate all he wants but its his fault for the most part. His fancy shots will not work at this rank anymore. And your will not too unless you wait with it till your opponents overcommit themselves.

Leth I’ve been playing since 2015 and your videos helped me hit GC for the first time ever this season :) when does the new season start I want my rewards so bad 😂
i will say one thing as a hard stuck d1 i get games that are alot harder than even these games that you get in champ like i get opponents with perfect aerials some even do wall plays like flip resets/air dribbles and im just wondering if its cause its different servers cause im EU cause im trying to improve
I'm in Champ2 and 3 going super sonic and u just wandering around the field chilling taking a shot or not, taking ur time of not, banging the ball or not.. like you make it seem so easy while when I play opponents ballchase and get so aggressive if I play like that. But thanks for reminding us that in this rank you can win by just taking your time and by basic shots with zero air dribble stuff as well!!
It's very interesting to see how little some of these players are going for aerials, air dribbles or ceiling shots, definitely not how most of my champ games go. But great video anyways, helps me at improving!
As I've watched this series and looked at my own games I realized most people don't actually go for that many aerials, but when they do it feels like its all the time because we want to think aerials are all the game is about. I've learned the trick is knowing when an Aerial is actually useful vs. just throwing the ball away
I feel like it's nothing crazy, just mostly low arials to keep the ball moving. From my experience, high diamond players go for more high arieals than low champ.
After watching Champ gameplay, i noticed that its basically diamond, but everyone is consistent enough to get good touches, saves and passes. Except for the diamonds that are just bad teammates and somehow made it to diamond with just mechs lol.
I'm generally a non toxic c2 player but unfortunately it get to a boiling point where I let the toxic players get to me and I often find myself becoming toxic before turning the game off. I feel like this is a big circle for a lot of people. You take so much over time you do tend to snap. I've even found just trying to ignore these situations but then getting into the toxic realm of team mates going afk because I don't usually trust passes and play more defensive. The moral of the story is just never to queue solo but unfortunately I have no friends 🤣
Same, I only play 2s and 3s with my 2 best friends and they're a little lower than I am, so I really just play ranked 1s when alone. It gets really frustrating really fast, and so I can only do a couple games before I have to quit.
The mid-high GC area seems to be where it takes a bit of grind to get out of, and where like you mentioned the skill range is so varied. You have people who are slowly climbing/stuck playing hours a day and others who might be nuts/should be higher and rarely play. That area is where it gets hard to get consistent reads on players, some lobbies people don't miss and others its 4/5 times a whiff. Getting into lower-mid SSL it seems to even out a bit more.
I do alot better in comp now since i chill and watch. Im not champ (someday ✌🤘) but i notice when i over commit i end up screwing myself. Plus i dont wanna end up taking it too seriously. Thanks for this series Leth ive learned alot from you. I play 1s more often but alot of this can apply there as well Dude this game is so much fun haha
I’ve been in champ 2 for over a year, I went from 1300 hours to 2000 and haven’t advanced. Sure some seasons I could have practiced more, but my lobbies are insane. I think it might be because of level and not mmr. My level is over 1400, so matchmaking could be with other levels like that with players around 2000 hours like me. Just food for thought cause I can’t learn at this game speed, it’s like champ 3 or gc gameplay
Hey Leth love the series! I had a quick question today! When you were explaining powerslide cuts I noticed you would take off ballcam while powersliding and as soon as you touch the ball you would put ballcam back on, is that the "right" way to use ballcam in that situation? I find myself panicking and randomly press ballcam on/off when I go for ground dribbles, maybe sometimes even accidentally, seeing you do it every time you hit the ball makes me think I'm missing info there :D
Champ 3 here. After having been in champ for a while, I’d say on average players need to work on (in order of most important): -Positioning when last back -Knowing when to leave the ball for a teammate -Not booming the ball every time you CAN, but instead controlling the ball -Only putting the ball in areas where you or teammate has control -Passing plays (people in champ really do not know how to pass compared to GC1) -Last is mechanics. You really do not need much mechanic skill to be in champ. Work on movement mechs, then ground mechanics, THEN you can practice the fun shit like flip resets, etc
I KNEW GERGORY WAS GONNA BE THE TOXIC ONE. I used to be toxic in diamond because I thought my mechanics were so much better then everyone else so naturally I thought I was above everyone
So I need to ask , I've been watching you a long time and I struggle to find this info somewhere. How does the dodge or double jump work in terms of how long after you leave the ground do you have to use it before you lose it? I feel like I've watched plenty of videos where players are using the dodge or double jump (without a flip reset) much longer after leaving the ground. When I play (and I'm only Diamond II/III) I feel like I try to jump once off of a wall and dodge into a ball a few seconds later and my dodge is just gone.
You retain your second jump/flip for a maximum of 1.5 seconds (I think?). If you tap A (jump) rather than hold it, it's less than 1.5 seconds. Holding the jump button will make your single-jump higher, and will increase how long you retain your second jump/flip.
Still working on playing more passively. It helps especially since I’m hard stuck in plat 2/3 but since I’ve been playing more passive in 2’s I’ve been winning more games. It’s the losing streaks that keep me in plat haha

After watching Champ gameplay, i noticed that its basically diamond, but everyone is consistent enough to get good touches, saves and passes. Except for the diamonds that are just bad teammates and somehow made it to diamond with just mechs lol.
SquishyPillow just squishymuffins face faded into a pillow
Meme of the Day: Chicargo, Chicago peaking over the top of a crate. Also
The series everyone loves! Good job Leth, looking forward to the next one 😉
I play 1s more often but alot of this can apply there as well
Dude this game is so much fun haha
classic champ 2 moment. mechs aren't everything lol
I have an idea for the next meme. "Spood-driver" I think it would be pretty funny.
Like there’s gc titles ALL THE TIME in my lobbies, there’s no way that’s a coincidence that it’s just based on mmr
@@burntcheerios7966 a lot of people peak at gc and get rewards but end up dropping down to c3 or even c2
Hey leth I love the thumbnails, do you have an artist who makes them?
I don't have to imagine running into people that toxic in champ. It's harder to imagine people NOT being that toxic.
Imagine being able to casually double flip reset and still be hardstuck champ... says a lot about his character LMAO
Yo leth i don't know how you have good positions and stuff, but your teaching got me to champ2 div 2. I used to be stuck in champ1 div 3 or 4. Thanks
Hi Leth, Can we get a Rizzpunzel next video?
Love the videos keep up the amazing content and love that the series is back!!
My question is, is it okay to wave dash at low diamond rank? Is that a mechanic best saved for champion levels?
21:00 this man missed almost every time he tried using fancy mechanics and says this 💀
You should definitely draw CARsenal! He would make a great Fennec.
The voice crack🤣 Loving the 2v2 knowledge hopefully we get a 1v1
i really needed this leth thanks
What is his camera and controller settings? Plz😢
Squashy Muffins, nothing more needs to be said...
except great video leth!
whats the software for editing jknaps in the beginning?
Champ 3 here. After having been in champ for a while, I’d say on average players need to work on (in order of most important):
-Positioning when last back
-Knowing when to leave the ball for a teammate
-Not booming the ball every time you CAN, but instead controlling the ball
-Only putting the ball in areas where you or teammate has control
-Passing plays (people in champ really do not know how to pass compared to GC1)
-Last is mechanics. You really do not need much mechanic skill to be in champ. Work on movement mechs, then ground mechanics, THEN you can practice the fun shit like flip resets, etc
I have the perfect one leth…. GiraffeG
Good luck with that one! 😂
CSpell, CBell as a wizard maybe?
I am a champ two and when i play it feels so fast but watching you makes my rank look so slow lmao
I KNEW GERGORY WAS GONNA BE THE TOXIC ONE. I used to be toxic in diamond because I thought my mechanics were so much better then everyone else so naturally I thought I was above everyone
ThisJustin - Justin as a breaking news reporter
Jamaican Waffle.... His face blended into a waffle... Idk I'm hungry
BunlessKhan - Sunless at A BBQ but he has no buns for his burger
Yo leth, what are your settings? Seems like you are at a perfect distance away from your car
Love the series! For the next one you should either do Atomic (his face on the nucleus) or a Squishy Muffin for Squishy on NRG
I hope Mad World by Gary Jules starts playing as Gregory Ex turns black and white and sulks as he watches himself act toxic in this episode.
You should do Jack Daniels with Daniels head on it
Leth really be underestimating champ 2’s
Embrace the meme: Either Scamamyr or Jamaican Throwconut
how do you even gte the the photo editer ? like the thing u use to edit the meme of the day
What's crazy is my plat 3 lobbies look like this bro except there's more whiffs of course and we don't score open nets
how does leth have alpha boost on a second account?
Still working on playing more passively. It helps especially since I’m hard stuck in plat 2/3 but since I’ve been playing more passive in 2’s I’ve been winning more games. It’s the losing streaks that keep me in plat haha
