His passing is a great loss for the Urticaria Community.
But he leaves behind an impressive body of work and legacy. Wich will live on.

I started seeing the first symptoms for this decease since 2011.
It got really bad tonight and I started looking RUclips videos and I recognize this doctor that I know before he was one of the best in research for hive , alopecia urticaria or any other name we can call this frustrating decease.
I been trying allergist, dermatologist with no results. I live with this now at least is not coming really often.
I don’t care so much anymore as soon as I don’t see it in my lips or under my foot.

I cured my chronic urticaria switching my diet from omnivore (Mediterranean) to Whole Food Plant Based, low in fats. At first I ate only big raw salads of carrots and cabbages. The illness got worse first and then disappeared after 3 weeks. I felt so good with that way of eating that I kept going. After 13 years the urticaria hasn't coming back, and I am still great with a fantastic health!
I highly reccomend look into the WFPB diet. It all start in the instestine, wrong foods cause inflammation, and the good one report the body to its healthy state. Try by yourself! 💚

Yes! I'm so glad that he acknowledged this. I have been all over Google and the only symptoms you see listed in mainstream sites is angioedema and hives. I think it's important that we get this information out there. So many family members, friends, and physicians don't take our symptoms seriously.

I got hives first time when I was 15 years old.I am 30 now and still I am getting urticaria attacks .Wheels have become so regular that It is now almost difficult to know what is triggering my urticaria. All I know till date is my allergy is trigged by heat, going out on summer heat, eating refined flour foods, oily friedfood, stress and sometimes it is so spontaneous that I do not find a trigger. Most disheartening is that most of doctors do not take urticaria patients seriously and for them it is a normal allergy and not a disease that is deadly.I am quite aware that what kind of mental stress a person goes through who has hives.

Reading these comments is both disheartening but also comforting to know I'm not alone. I have the same experience. I tried elimination diet, same experience from oily fried foods. I have tried everything. To the point I don't know what's causing it or helping. All I can say is drink lots of water, Quercetin supplements may help, good exercise, no alcohol but I'm sure you already know all this. This condition is hell. When it's at its worst, I genuinely want to die. I hope and pray we may all receive relief and hopefully a cure from this awful disease

I'm on xolair, cyclosporine, prednisone and antihistamines. I'm a very challenging case. All of this was working until recently. Now nothing is working. I'm suicidal. I'm on a low histamine diet. I can't go outside at all because of the environment. I can't eat at any restaurant. I've lost my friends because I can't go or do anything. I can't handle it anymore. I had chronic hives, as discussed by this doctor, for seven years. The drug I found that controlled the hives with no side effects was Atarax -25 mg tab daily. I took one tablet a day for 6 years. On the seventh year a new dermatologist I saw suggested I try a very restrictive diet for three weeks. I tried his diet and after about three or four weeks I was cured. I never determined what exactly was the trigger that caused my hives.

My 14 yr old has been having hives and rash all over the body for the last year. Usually notice them when he is sweating in gym class. We thought at first it was a new Detergent. Now he still gets them with using a sensitive Detergent. He has always been lactose intolerance but now we think it might be a milk allergy. His pediatrician aslo asked him about his school classes and if if he gets stressed about his grades. He does as he has all AP classes. The dr said that can also be a factor aswell. He loves sweets and thinks because he is thin and tall that he can eat all the sweets in the world. Does not get enough sleep and rest after his after school basketball practice. Needs about 10 hours sleep and only sleeps about 5 to 6 hours. Going to get a blood test to see if he is allergic to a specific thing....

You will want to see your doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment. Generally they start with h1 antihistamines like Xyzal. H2 antihistamines may also be added if symptoms are not managed. It sometimes takes some combining of different medications and troubleshooting. Vitamin D is often low and many find that when they supplement there is a bit of improvement in their symptoms. @@nityatripathi347 I’m not a doctor but it sounds like you’ve identified the pattern linked with the monsoon season and there are a few articles online that discuss rashes which can be triggered with the drop in temperature and increase in humidity that can impact your skin microbiota. It doesn’t sound like it’s autoinflammatory as it doesn’t happen every year and is itchy. The itch is a clue that histamines are involved. It could also possibly be an allergy to something like pollens that are released at that time of year that you may not come into contact with every year. Welcome! I had a bit of a struggle conceiving, 6 weeks into pregnancy, my hives went into complete remission until 6 days post partum. A lot of women have a similar experience. A couple of things to consider would be looking for any thyroid disease or nutrition deficiencies, as these are very common in the CSU population and can have negative impacts during pregnancy.

I’ve had this from nose to toes for over 2 years now. Full body coverage with intense itch even in the scalp. Instead of being present 24/7 like it was for 1st year it now cycles up and down and is tolerable. Changing jobs to something low impact/stress has helped immensely along with a new antihistamine called Betahistine.
If I sweat, I break out. If it’s hot, sunny, cold, if I get sick, or get tired it’s a big breakout. So managing it means getting decent rest, avoiding nsaids, staying out of sun and avoiding cold climates, and avoiding foods that are attributed to inflammation. As for exercise, I walk which isn’t a high sweat activity but no more weight lifting or running on treadmill.

This has happened to a lot of people. Any immune response can be a potential trigger. First step would be to seek out an immunologist or dermatologist who is knowledgeable about chronic urticaria. Antihistamines are the first treatment and are effective for many people. Your physician may trial you on different types/combos of these before escalating treatment to Xolair. Urticaria is considered chronic after 6 weeks.
