Old guy here. The Steelers are limping into the playoffs where they 10-3, then lost 4 tough games in a row to finish 10-7. Pittsburgh biggest advantage is NOBODY expects them to win, so they have no pressure on them. They can play fast and loose. It’s going to be an AFC North black and blue game. I would expect the Ravens to win, but you can’t count the Steelers out. It’s the playoffs.
People in Baltimore are nervous about this game, at least I am. Pittsburgh and Baltimore has always been the same for the most part, a once more game no matter how good or bad the other team is.
I think the Steelers can manage pressure regardless, but they're a proud team on a losing streak against other playoffs teams in meaningful games, whatever the rest of the league thinks, they're clearly frustrated and not meeting their own expectations. To put it another way, I don't think they think of themselves as underdogs, and they definitely don't see themselves as playing with house money.
@drumagus2258 So you write in another comment that "the rat birds got lucky one game with the steelers missing GP and half their secondary..." and now you claim Ravens fans are making excuses? You are a delusional hypocrite.
Nobody has actually stopped Lamar since his first MVP year. Not saying he couldn't have been stopped, Im just saying I haven't observed a single drive where his option to run and keep getting first downs has actually been removed for 4 downs in a row. He stops himself. Starts hesitating and second guessing when the stakes are highest(Although I do blame some of that on the play calling in highest of stakes moments). I think this year with his passing I feel comfortable saying I think he's literally 100% unstoppable. Physically and mentally(football Iq wise)....But unfortunately I dont think Ive truly seen a shift in his psychology. I dont trust him to not shrink at the moment he meets the final boss. My fingers are crossed like a mfer though
Yes I'm glad you are seeing what seems to be it. I think 10 years of UNFAIR criticism (the stuff that appears to have more to it than just football) plays on his psyche.
If Derrick Henry gets 20+ carries we should be fine, he usually starts to wear down the defense when he gets more than 15 carries. You can’t guard both Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry
They will try to stop the run because it's what they do. We'll run because its what we're, um, supposed to do. This game will be what it's always about: penalties, turnovers, and FGs
I’m so scared because the Steelers are in a 5 game losing streak lmao like they will be playing like their lives depend on it. I think they will be ready to die on that field.
Zay Flowers better be ready to play, he went down against Cleveland and nobody even hit him. He’s hurting his team if he’s not in uniform, ready to play at 100% this Saturday.
NO team can stop Lamar. Except the Ravens. The Ravens coaching staff is the only thing that can stop Lamar. It was similar in 2012 when the alpha leaders rebelled against Harbaugh. That led to the 2nd Lombardi. I have a feeling the only way the Ravens can win it all is if they tell Harbaugh and his "friends of Harbaugh" coaches to shove it and just run the game the way they want. Obviously, that won't happen, and it's why the Ravens will continue to struggle under the Harbaugh regime.
There’s only two teams in the playoffs we most likely won’t outscore by much and that’s the Steelers and chiefs this was the worst possible outcome for both teams as the first game in the playoffs.. could go either way
They do beat themselves often, and that’s a great thing because they’re in control of their destiny. They’re either going to become disciplined and succeed or continue to play sloppy football and fail.
The Steelers just got to keep Lamar in the pocket and play tight man coverage they have done it before. The Chiefs last year in the championship game did exactly that.
Also, apparently Lamar said there was something going on with one of his ankles. That was another reason he didn’t run as much. I saw this from an article a while ago, so I can’t fact check this.
Zay is definitely out and in that second game the Steelers didn’t have Donte Jackson, Joey porter Jr. got hurt, and deshon Elliott (their best run defender) was also out. I think they’re going to overload the box and stop Henry because there is no Zay, but I think this is going to be a dog fight low scoring game where the Steelers make the final play and get the huge upset
Im a Steelers fan, can we skip the part where the Steelers exit first round and go straight to the part where Lamar chokes in the 2nd round? Edit: I love how my comment brought out all the butthurt ravens fans

I'll laugh so I don't have to cry.
It's easier said than done but just don't turn the ball over. It's exactly how we won last time. Have to beat them at their own game.

The first game Tucker missed 7 points. Steelers got lucky he was in a slump. Tucker seems to be out of the slump.

Apparently 2-8 in the last 10 is “luck” because a kicker missed 50+ yarders

They should keep the defense honest and design some runs for Lamar.
Some outside runs hopefully, not running through the tackles and getting him hurt.
@ Right on.
It could be unpredictable now with snow in the forecast
They still have a ground game, and the Ravens have a better ground game than the Steelers
The ravens should win this game by 20 points and if they can’t then Harbaugh should be on the hot seat
But what if it’s drops, missed throws and turnovers like the first matchup this season?

Steelers winning isnt the biggest letdown due to it being divisional. 2010 Jets, 85 Pats, 2020 Bucs with the saints
