If your Honeywell T5 is blowing hot air while cooling, this might be the fix.
Installing Honeywell T5 was very straight-forward. Since I was replacing my existing thermostats, tools and effort required was minimal. Within this video, I demonstrate how I installed the Honeywell T5 Smart Thermotstat. I installed one Honeywell T5 upstairs and the other Honeywell T5 downstairs. Both work great and using geo-fencing has noticeably reduced my monthly energy consumption. The units look nice too! #Honeywell #T5 #Howto

Just want to say thank u soooooo much for making this video we bought a T5 smart thermostat and my husband and I could not figure out why on cool that it was blowing out hot air. Once we watched your video and you said turn it to heat pump and it will start blowing cool air. We changed the setting to heat pump and our system finally started to blow cool air! So thank u so much!!!!

Listen to what he says and save that call out fee! This definitely works. Set to Heat pump after a factory reset. Your settings should read heating system: Compressor/Heat …. Heating stages: 2 ….. cooling stages: 1. These settings are if you have heat and emergency auxiliary heat. Thank you so much Irix Guy!

If I have 2 thermostats but one ac unit outside is that considered 1 stage for cooling and heating? I'm having the same issue he had in the vidoe, but I just replaced them and install the T4 the one that didn't have wiFi but I want to switch back to the smart. That heat instead of cool air was threw me off.
It woulda been a smart thing to show how you did it instead of just talking about it

Do you know which option to choose after heat pump is selected? I get 2 options: O (O/B on Cool) or B (O/B on Heat). Thank you
I cannot remember unfortunately, unless I captured that detail within this video clip.

I did the same thing. But I have two questions on this matter. First I haven't heard my heat pump outside defrost after switching to this thermostat. Why is that? 2nd question why does it click when the unit outside is running. It click like it coming on or turn off it does that sometimes in the morning. It click maybe 3 to 4x with 2 mind in between. If you experience this to. This also happens to my old thermostat as well.
I've never encountered that scenario =(

I have the Lyric Round thermostat and the same thing applies, I had to re input all the settings and this was the missing piece now the a/c is working fine thank you
