- In this video Gift, our friends Vince & kaew and I travel to Ko Lanta Island, Thailand, where we spend 3 nights at a 4 star resort for just $56 a night, a 70% savings compared to traveling during high season. While on Ko Lanta Island we celebrate the ladies birthdays. The best time to travel Thailand is during low season if you want to get the best prices, while avoiding the tourist crowds. Note: low season also means that there may be rain on some days. Also, the sea can be rough at times, so traveling on ferries and boats is not always a pleasant experience.

As a multi country traveller you make it a main point to know the prices and expenses. It is important. the price of a bottle of water in each place is a good bench mark. I live in Italy and see how the tourists are truly paying too high a price for water. I buy large bottles packaged in bulk.

Happy and Blessed Birthday dear Gift. Wow! You two don't hang about do you!! Just back from a 6 week adventure and you are off again 🙂That resort looks very nice, but then it should be at that price. Way over our budget I'm afraid. I dread to think what it must cost in high season. But it looks the ideal place for you to relax and celebrate Gift's birthday in beautiful quiet surroundings. The sea looks very inviting and I am sure that you will have a dip in it before you leave. I hope that the weather stays fine for your boat trip tomorrow and that the wind drops a bit. I think that it is great that you tell us the price of everything wherever you are, and I always have my currency calculator to hand when you give the price in Dollars or Euro so that I can convert it to Baht. It then shows me what I can afford and what I cannot, and am so grateful and blessed that I can live well on a limited pension which is frozen at 2014 levels by UK Government. As I always say Gift and Joe, you give me so much pleasure wherever you are and I thank you for sharing so much with us. God bless you always and keep you safe 😀❤🙏

Speaking of affordability, Ta and I took your advice, and we signed up with Thai Legal Protection. 795 bht/ month, that's $22.80 for you knuckle heads that say you can't compare pricing or cost of living in Thailand to elsewhere ! It would be $795/month here in the States for good legal advice ! 😂😂. Anyway, good friends and good times shared in a tropical environment for $56 bucks a night..... I ain't complaining!😅

Regarding jet lag Joe, my flight surgeon taught us it takes one day per one hour of time difference for your body to fully recover. Just take it slow + easy. Rick

Had to q in.... i think your wrong about the water pricing thingy.... see its kinda unfair when thailand you have to pay less to get less (being sarcastic of course) .... 😂 and in m not talking about the amount or quality. You get less added crap chemicals, etc... less regulations, etc... here in cali its over $2 for a simple water. $17 for a 2 cheese burger meal from mc d with the small fry and coke. Crazy high prices. Keep up the good work, of course we want to see comparisons...💯 cant wait to get back....
