Please don't stop with the medieval style. That's one of the reasons I'm watching you. And you're doing it so incredible and detailed. It's amazing. The best minecraft world build by the best minecraft youtuber. I'm waiting every Thursday and hoping it's another minecraft hardcore video. Please continue doing what you're doing!(If you die you could continue with the vids and play in one of the copies of the world. Nobody cares it's the copy of the world.)
I love how fwip said on the last question "That's a great idea! Here are my constraints and prefereces that make it not quite work in my case." Sometime artistically we can struggle with "a good idea" vs "a good idea for what i'm trying to accomplish." Dovetails nicely with the previous question about build advice and being told what to do vs developing ones own style.

Hey fwhip! One thing that really worked for me regarding lag in my base was replacing almost all chests and double chests with barrels. I believe it is because chests are considered entities and barrels are not. I see that your base has lots of chests both for storage and decoration. So if I were you, I would start by replacing all the chests I can with barrels (materials storage, farm outputs, etc.). They may not look the best in certain situations, but it's better than watching a slideshow. Hope it helps!
It's nice to know that Java players are envious for some bedrock features because for me it definitely goes both ways. Come on Mojang give bedrock sweeping edge too. Love your vids I'll see you on the fwipside

I'm a Bedrock Edition player and I DON'T WANT SWEEPING EDGE because we already have attack spam with no cooldown

@riuphane or just add the trident mechanics from bedrock to Java for parity, and add sweeping edge to bedrock. That is what mojang are aiming for after all. Seems to make more sense to merge mechanics where possible, rather than nerfing features to 'balance' the two editions of the same game.
I think the reason your starter base area is very laggy is because all the chests, IIRC chests are entities and cause lag but I could be wrong
If you (or anyone who has the world download) are looking to figure out what is causing lag just make a backup of the world and go to the laggiest areas and use worldedit to delete chunks of the world that are close to you one by one until you have a large jump in fps. If none of those chunks help then check the spawn chunks as those are always loaded. Then you know exactly which area is causing the lag, and that should help you figure out what specifically the problem is.

The moment Fwip mentioned potentially doing a more "futuristic" medieval society through a portal my brain immediately went to solarpunk... it's my favorite because of the brighter, more natural vibes compared to steampunk, cyberpunk, etc.
With armor stands, the arms are there by default, plus you can pose the stands as well on bedrock
I’m unaware of what your plans are with the big land you had just made but what if you were to like build a massive “portal” that lead below it to a massive futuristic city. Underneath all that terrain would be such wasted space if you don’t have plans already to use it. Among being a giant coverup so it doesn’t remove from your theme rather just a time portal to the future. And the portal could give off magical vibes. I feel that would be such a unique and cool idea. Unless of course you already have plans for it which I’d assume to be much better seeming how lovely your world is. You could also add a fake sky underneath it as well
4:07 that sounds epic and I would love to see those builds if you ever do that type of build!!! Especially while watching ImpulseSV and his cyberpunk city, it would be cool to see the Cyberpunk buildings in your building style!!

Hello fWhip, love watching your videos, I watch with my kids and we get so many great ideas for our own "family" world. You have so many fields would you consider adding paddocks at some point to your world? A cow paddock, or dairy farm would look great in your world and fit the lore that people in the city are getting their meat from the farm.
2:29 You could build it on one of the outer End islands. The End could be a magical place where time-space is different. That way you could integrate more random builds into this Hardcore world.
I wrote this before I continued watching. Now I feel like an idiot, fWhip already had that idea. Always one step ahead!
I'm willing to bet that a LOT of the lag comes from the huge open undergrounds beneath the mountains that you're making. Even if they're lit up (I think someone, maybe Mogswamp? did an experiment about it?) the open air situation means that the game is checking all that area for mob spawns All. The. Time. You might want to use lava casting to fill them in, or section and wall them off (I think there's something about closed cells being checked less than ones with openings to the sky).
With having to flip through so many pages to read comments I wonder if it might be helpful to just do a new book for each comment episode? The book won't be 100 pages full but you would be able to navigate to the comments easier and each book would represent an episode then you could create a grand master library to house all the books!
im not sure if u have entity culling but it helps me a ton on world/servers that have a lot of entitites
Would love to see you create more giant trees, be cool to see a giant tree for each biome you got around the city

Awesome video! And regarding the immense performance issues, I remember hearing from someone about the way Minecraft renders chunks. That any change to the original chunk on a large scale would cause it to lag (something about how Minecraft remembers how the chunk looks originally and has to calculate ay change made? Please fact-check me).
That's why sometimes an area with detailed builds and immense changes to the terrain could lag? This was what I was told when my own world was lagging without many entities or machines.
If anyone knows better about this please correct me! I'm in no way knowledgeable in Minecraft's technical side ^^;
Question: I believe you have been a great builder since I started watching (empires s1 but I didn’t have an account) but you have obviously improved. I often think that dying in this world wouldn’t be that bad as builds like your starter base would be better in the next world. Have you ever thought the same feeling that dying wouldn’t be bad?

Hello Fwhip I can’t tell you how good your videos are and how much joy they bring me, I was wandering with you city would you consider expanding it and slowly making it more run down as you move further away from the valley as if that’s where the peasants live, I don’t know just trying to help and could be some good lore.
You've talked before about motivation and burnout and how you'll switch between different projects when you find yourself getting tired. Do you ever end up in the middle of a project and realize you dislike it entirely? What do you do in that scenario?

I love building medieval style themed builds in minecrafts, but I got one problem though. I'm a total noob at building interiors.
Also there are other communities like the bakery and insta builders as they are really good builders

You can push a fence gate with a piston in the armour stand and open it, than it looks like arms
I think that it might help if you lower the entity distance
Can you make a small video without cuts with just you flying over your world so we can have a better perspective of where everything is? Because in this video you kind of did that and I like it a lot

minecraft should give the plahyer the ability to remove or add biomes by destroying it or having it reach a certain criteria. im absolutely heartbroken your mountain range is again being ruined by swamps. are you planning on world editing it out like in the og fwhip world?
Hey Fwip! I know you probably don't read comments much, but just incase I thought I'd recommend a performance fix for your world. Try to tune your RAM speed and timings. It will have a significant speed increase on your game performance.

I feel pain for you every single time you have to flip all the pages (I use books a lot and I hate that flaw with a burning passion)... I'm wondering, I know you want to keep your world as vanilla as possible, but there's a fabric mod called Enhanced Writing (I believe) that just makes it better to navigate book pages, do you think it'd be worth it ? After all I think you're only using books for the comments episodes, it would seem fair to me

My longterm survival world got super laggy when all the caves in the spawn chunks filled with non-despawning endermen (who picked up dirt/gravel) and zombies (holding string and mushrooms). I made a creative copy of the world to locate all the caves, and cleared them all out in the original copy. I made sure to light everything up too.

I'm always running out of calcite fwhip or walking thousands of blocks to find more see I play on Nintendo switch and when flying the world doesn't render fast enough so you can't see anything when your landing same in a boat it's really bad why I walk everywhere is there a better way to get calcite?? Other then mountain vains or geodes like a basalt generator there should be a calcite generator mojang needs to make more of the blocks farmable and calcite stairs slabs walls ect is a must so much more everyone could build more blocks need those variations it would open up so much more building why wouldn't mojang add these things ??? To make minecraft better ?? I think a block update is needed or the stone cutter be able to put more blocks in and get things like calcite stairs or walls or basalt stairs and walls so many other blocks would have more use in building like brick block or even gold blocks to be able to make gold variations I think building in minecraft needs to get better what do you think ?? Fwhip am I right ??
