Even tho PvZ2 has a lot of microtransactions i used to play it a lot and i really liked it. I think i heard about Eclise before but i haven't checked it but now I'll play it! Thanks Shyguymask for your amazing content and for showing this epic mod to us :D
As a person who played through most of Pvz2 without spending any real money, The only reason why I play Pvz2 is for the better graphics, and maybe some select plants
For 6-9, what happened is that you knocked a Barrel far enough off-screen that it wouldn't release its Imps. The game has a fail safe for that, bit it just took an abnormally long time to kick in in this case.
I do love how people who played vanila complained about even the slightest difficulties, yet have no problem spending hours to make a strategy For one level, all because the creator of the mod is not part of EA or popcap. What many people including popcap seems to be missing is pvz is a casual tower defense game. It is not meant to be extremely Ez nor is it meant to be very hard. The goal is to strike a balance so that players dont leave because its too easy, But to also not make the players leave due to it being hard and due to "Sh!t level design" syndrome. Onto the actual issue i have with eclipse. Like amogus, squid game and many other products which are popular yet at best mediocre, the actual problem i have with eclipse is fans overpraising that guy who made eclipse. It's a hivemind. He did not make it from the ground up, nor did he had to study the code extensively to "save what can be saved". He simply modified it a bit yet people are praising it as if he pvz2.
I can bet 99% of people who play eclipse never truly played pvz2. Otherwise they would Shut up about the whole "p2w schemes". I beat it twice without needing to spend real money. Granted, I did buy two plants with gems, But it is Still not real money. P. S. I do like it Even more how people who praise eclipse tell the ones who have difficulties with it to simply "get good", yet they refuse to take that advice For vanila.
@@Leonard_Wolf_2056 I play vanilla PvZ2 and I have to say that it has mind-bogglingly unbalanced roster. Especially since arena plants exists (which, let's be honest, are just a way to grab money from whales).
Honestly I didn't think PVZ2 alone was disappointing. I thought it was better than the first in my opinion with it having more plants, events, and daily levels. But that's probably just me.
@Op-gogo only night levels? yeah buddy, bring it to pool too. and about doom shrooms, it leaves a crater everytime + it has a slow recharge + it needs longer time to explode in day and it doesn't even fully kill gargantuars. are you saying you'll waste 2 slots just for doom shrooms when you can use cherry bombs and squash which is much more versatile, fast at recharging and killing AND can kill gargantuars?
tbh, i like the non-linearity of pvz 2. if you get stuck in a world, it feels nice to get back to it after dropping it for a while and grinding another world for new plants. kinda like a protaganist failing at a challange, spending a whole season training kung fu in the mountains and later getting back to it with new amazing powers (in this case plants) and absolutely destroying the challange he was previously stuck on. this allows pvz 2 to be more challenging too, since you always have different options so a level being way too hard can always be made easier if you spend more time on other worlds, which i appreciate. honestly, i think pvz 2 would be an overall better game if it weren't for the microtransactions. the microtransactions in themselves isn't necessarily the problem either, more the desing around them. if it were just skins or small boosts that added to the gameplay it would be fine, but the way pvz 2 is designed makes the gameplay sort of revolve around microtransactions. instead of giving you extra content for spending money, it feels like it locks away already existing content and forces you to pay to progress.
It got locked, but hey, due to people who are currently having credit cardless part of their lives (like me for some reason), you can do like the entire thing linearly. Pretty cool ig
Popcap : Alright people, let's make another great game! This time we'll be partnering with EA! EA : Oh uh, did you say good game?- Super sorry but I didn't sign up to make anything good, instead let's give players the most OP plants in game but only after you either grind for ages or spend too much money on them

I don't care about microtransactions, but the game is actually unbalanced as hell. Also, there's simply no way to say something positive about the newest versions. Not even the music works properly.

Idk, I'll just stick to vanilla PvZ2. It's not as bad as everybody says it is in all honesty. It has its flaws, but that doesn't mean it's bad. It just seems like some PvZ fans have this stigma that makes them get angry whenever PvZ2 is mentioned. I'm all for people having their their own opinions, but sometimes it just seems like some people still just get angry over it to be angry over it. I'm not saying that you or the people watching this are the kind of people I mentioned, I'm just saying. I get it, they hate the leveling system and the microtransactions and the battlez. I get it, but instead of just getting angry or annoyed about PvZ2, focus on the good about the game too, like the creative worlds, the great soundtrack, the cool new plants and zombies, and the great graphics. And please just let this game be now, it's been out for over 5 years if I remember correctly. This is just my opinion however, and I'm sure that you have other opinions that are just as, if not more, valid than mine, and I respect that. Its nice to hear different opinions, as long as its not just hate. EDIT: Yeah I just got Eclise, and I will say, it's defenitely much more challenging, maybe a bit too challenging though.
There is a pretty good install guide if you need and the discord people are always happy to help. The only levels that are insanely hard are the very late levels and the secret optional levels. I respect that you still like pvz2 though, it had many flaws but is still a fun game.
I understand you like pvz2 but the thing you like about pvz2 already exist in ECLISE, (cool soundtracks, creative world, cool new plants) I seriously recommend you to download it, yes it takes a while if you're an idiot like me but you may get some help from videos or discord
People praise this mod, but I legit think it just becomes way too hard to the point where you need to look up the strategy to play. That’s not fun, PvZ was fun because the amount of strategies you’re allowed to experiment with, when that is removed entirely it becomes a guessing game unless you look up the answers. It’s the least fun I’ve had with PvZ and I think vanilla PvZ 2 sucks.
What did you think? I remember back in 2020 i thought the same thing but then when I played i fucking ate my words so i would like to know your thoughts
13-9 isn't hard. 13-6 is much harder. I used Sunflower, Grapeshot, Ghost Pepper, T2 Repeater (but you can use any semi-heavy plant) T3 Puff-shroom, and I forgot the rest to beat 13-9.
ECLISE is probably the greatest PVZ mod in existence, its balanced, it gives a new look to many old things, and it doesnt get boring. Even the Vasebreaker levels have funny challenges. GoodPea and MinePower really gave us something we wanted, and I am happy that they took the time to make this mod.
Yea and some of the levels are extremely hard too this means u have to play even more. And if i recall correctly.. They add new levels occasionally right?
Zerozone Yeah, there are very hard levels. But the difficulty is more fair. When you beat it, you feel awesome instead of feeling that you just finished a chore (Like it feels in vanilla PVZ 2).
Pros -Add the ultimate battle & minigame back -Leveled up plants isn't 2 shot everything for low & fast recharge -Removes microtransaction Cons -Hard & (I don't mind it tho but) easy mode is just sun bean useless & wave goes faster mode -Add microtransaction -One of the creator have inability to accept critism -Terrible community management -I can't mention everything
Pvz2 was amazing in 2017. In the last 3 years, they transformed it into an over chaotic game. Had u started it years ago you would've loved it. Most people will tell you its gotten exponentially worse since 2017
I agree man PvZ2 had so much potential because they introduced a new and very interesting game mechanic like the plant food and they introduced challenges like "dont let the wall nuts get eaten." Although i dont like the Power zap, power toss feature, because it doesnt take skill. Ngl it couldve been as good if not better than PvZ but alas, EA just had to exist and ruin everything we love as a kid.
@@zerozone5848 in 2017, pvz2 was better than pvz1. Then they took out two of the three level themes. Then they added multiplayer. Then they added upgrades. Then they added other Bs. The game was gr8 until they tried to input gameplay after people finished modern day
Without the focus on microtransactions, the brutal difficulty of the game means that it also expects you to win with skill. Had EA minimized microtransactions, we would've had a great sequel on our hands and they'd still make a pretty penny.
I like how ShyGuyMask goes off saying PvZ 2 is an grindy, greedy game that's extremely repetitive and disappointing, despite the fact that he's only ever played it once for a Sunflowerless Challenge video and never progressed further than a few levels into Pirate Seas (World 2). Ok? You don't absolutely HAVE to pay money, it just makes it a reasonable difficulty. Also, "and now some plants that require money have changed now the require seed packets" is not a good argument to a video that was made much before that.

@@acake6654 yeah but besides Arena, than 95% of the game is just "Player Vs Computer". Balance isn't gonna be as much as an issue unlike in heavy "Player vs Player" games.
@@slop4308Actually the game isn't that Grindy. If you're talking about finishing the world levels....I managed to do all that within a few months at the very most. You really don't need to spend money on premium plants. It just takes skill and it helps since me and my mom played PVZ1 for many years so we got some experience prior to downloading part 2. As for the seed packet plants, I found our that if you play the bare minimum and simply win only two arena matches per day, you will be able to unlock the plant before the season ends. And don't worry about the leveling system being so Grindy. If PVZ1 had no leveling system, don't worry about PVZ2's. It's just a "bonus" feature designed to add a "goal" and further "sense of progression" to the game so that people who get bored after finishing the whole game (like I did when playing PVZ1) will still have something to do.
I’ll never understand why people say that the simple existence of micro transactions in a game completely ruins it, I think PvZ2 is a fine game. That said, this mod still looks really neat, might be something to check out given that I’m gonna be stuck indoors for a while

PvZ 2 Version : If EA gave a Crap
(Microtransactions Not Included)
tbh, i like the non-linearity of pvz 2. if you get stuck in a world, it feels nice to get back to it after dropping it for a while and grinding another world for new plants. kinda like a protaganist failing at a challange, spending a whole season training kung fu in the mountains and later getting back to it with new amazing powers (in this case plants) and absolutely destroying the challange he was previously stuck on. this allows pvz 2 to be more challenging too, since you always have different options so a level being way too hard can always be made easier if you spend more time on other worlds, which i appreciate. honestly, i think pvz 2 would be an overall better game if it weren't for the microtransactions. the microtransactions in themselves isn't necessarily the problem either, more the desing around them. if it were just skins or small boosts that added to the gameplay it would be fine, but the way pvz 2 is designed makes the gameplay sort of revolve around microtransactions. instead of giving you extra content for spending money, it feels like it locks away already existing content and forces you to pay to progress.
It got locked, but hey, due to people who are currently having credit cardless part of their lives (like me for some reason), you can do like the entire thing linearly. Pretty cool ig

@@PurpleNecromancer-10 I have gotten 300 gems from the travel log I get around 20 gems per day by doing that so 5 days is 100 gems
Was that a pun. AWESOME!
"A pretty PENNY"
Penny: you called, user?
*popcap
Fixes the spelling mistake you made
I love how in the thumbnail one wallnut is staring at the wallnut to its right who is about to die
Says it's bad and he won't even properly try it. Fucking irony and stubbornness at it's finest.
i couldnt agree more
Even though Eclise is both hard and challenging, it's my favourite mod for PvZ2
How do you beat level 3-4? Do I what, bring down my Cabbage Pults & Repeaters from tier 2 to 1? I can buy 1 49 gem plant if you want me to. I need advice.
This could very well revive my intetest in this game. I definitely love that this mod requires more wit in order to win.
Everyone: puts money towards tears
My dumb ass: coverts all money to gems to buy hats for my plants
I have an objection that I have completed pvz2 without using a single cent and now some plants that require money have changed now the require seed packets
Ok? You don't absolutely HAVE to pay money, it just makes it a reasonable difficulty.
Also, "and now some plants that require money have changed now the require seed packets" is not a good argument to a video that was made much before that.
4:47 yeah.
I was gonna ask the version used on the recording. 200 sun fire pea, bloomerang not stuning.
It was cause that was somewhat unbalanced
To this day I still don't get the hate for PvZ 2 _at all_ , but I do agree this mod looks fun and amazing. I'll have to try it out when I have the chance.
I used to love pvz 2 a lot until seed packets and arena
@@vgogaming3685 I love the arena though, even though the zombies are buffed to hell. It's the thing that I can enjoy after finishing the story.
What's the deal with seed packets though? They make your plants stronger iff anything else.
@@lyonvensa microtransations and griding
@@water204 Which is entirely optional. It's possible to clear the story without them.
I don't even get why people complain about PVZ2 even though the number of plants offered for free today vastly outnumbers the number of plants in PVZ1.
Its really grindy and if you really want to play the game to win you have to pay money for it
@@acake6654 yeah but besides Arena, than 95% of the game is just "Player Vs Computer".
That said, this mod still looks really neat, might be something to check out given that I’m gonna be stuck indoors for a while
Globus Polski it’s also about balance. The game has huge issues in that regard making it a joke when it comes to strategy games
A few microtransactions are good like add money or whatever but not when there’s like 2.99 just for a SINGLE PLANT
Plants vs zombies 2 is way more cooler than this mod really
But only my opinion
