Just one problem that I have had and I hope you can help me with.
I run a sound hiring company. Hiring out microphone, speakers and dj equipment for co-operate and commercial events, I'm so passionate about it that I dropped out of a mechanical engineering studies. Now I'm very good at this, but when it comes to designing a proposal to a potential customer or actually convincing a customer about my business I suck on that and really its pointless running a business and not have any customers. I have gone as far as setting really low prices and I think its because of the desperation to get work. How can I solve this

I’ve been watching these videos for all day in between chores and working on my company, and listening to Evan is helping me organize a lot of my thoughts, I can't agree more with what he is saying. I am building up a tour agency in Panama with this concept of doing scientific expeditions, but my vision is to evolve it into a company documenting history, learning about ecology and the environment we live in, teaching ideals that can revolutionize culture. People don't appreciate what they have, because they don't know the value of what they have, believing is the value you give your effort. I really believe I can make this happen. I will do my very best to overcome any obstacle, because obstacles are just lessons, another step up to the top. That is my north.

Hello I'm starting a magazine and I so love what you had to say!! I worked for a lady who owned a magazine up in Colorado before I decided to start my own back in my home state Louisiana. My former employer asked me how I sold better than anyone she ever hired. Simple I believed in what I was doing and what the product she had was well above in quality to others ... it was easy to sale it as I believed in what I was selling because it was more than just another magazine ... it had essence! And as I launch my new magazine called "Bayou Living Magazine" I bring forth all that I am to my pages and people can feel the energy that I have and my magazine now oozes of energy and passion for my subject!
I actually work at a direct sales department and I tested this myself. If you sound confident and calm about your prices most people won't even question why the price is so high. So don't feel persuaded to give just anyone the lowest price possible work from the top to the bottom don't try to up sell you want to down sale so you can work out a price and product that they feel best fits them.

hey ,if anyone else wants to learn about buy and sell websites list try Rapid Flipper Tactic (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some decent things about it and my brother in law got excellent results with it.
I could kiss the screen right now, but the least I can do is to hit Subscribe. I've been thinking about dropping out of the race to the bottom with prices (I'm a copywriter) and providing a partnership with people. I have(had) two clients I felt I was pestering because it'd be days before I'd hear back from them for the next step in their process. I was more excited about it than THEY were! After this video, I decided I'm done.
Evan, if you ever get to read this, thank you from the bottom, top, and through every valve of my heart. This video confirms that I don't have to take that kind of client/service relationship. My brand deserves better than that.

I find this explanation of sales to be extraordinarily compelling. I’m still running into a bit of a disconnect around the context in which I am with them. I’m still trying to diagnose and fix the reasons for it, but I feel incredibly confused about how to even approach. I have amazing feelings about the products I designed - clothing and apparel - and I love it. I’m very inspired by it. Once we’re talking, I’m excited to talk about it. But there’s a stigma about being an annoying spammer before it comes up... In part, it’s an issue of confidence.

Hello Evan, Thank you for this video. I agree with you 1000%. I have been there chasing after customers, but today I says NO MORE! I have a great unique product. I just need to tap into my emotions to bring out a clear message about what my company is about. My company is more then just a product it about caring to help student understand, to help teacher teach. To help people understand history in a fun way. Because if you don't now were you come from how will you know where you are going. I believe that we are a generation that is lost and we need to find ourselves again. I agree that it is time to STOP being price driven. It time to be what we are human being that have emotions and use does emotion to help one another. Steve Jobs didn't even come up with these tips. They have been around since people started bartering and selling. Nothing apple sells is completely new, they just figured out how to get people to buy stuff other people had trouble selling. The tablet computer idea has been kicked around in some form for about 100 years before the iPad came out. When I was little cell phones were super expensive and had the image of a business tool. Today's iPhone is just as expensive and even people on food stamps want one.
Great video and great advice. Loved the emotion side and what the client needs quotes. I've started out my own business in videography and building up my portfolio.
Recently got my first clients on expenses paid and they were over the moon with what I did and left glowing reviews. I'm still in the process of thinking about offering free services for the next two months but stuck in the 50/50 mind-set of pulling away and charging but not knowing what to start with. I don't want to look desperate in which offering free work seems to be at the moment so should I charge or continue and then after 2 months charge? Its annoying as its now a daily thinking process which is driving me insane lol Thanks for the heads up

Evan, All of these concepts are so simple, yet I have never thought of a single one of them. These tips are so amazing and I am sure will help tons of people avoid pitfalls that many have already faced. My wife and I are leaving everything behind and moving to our dream location of Wilmington NC. I have recently left the military and am attending college which is not really for me. Great video Evan. I'm a rental agent in NYC. Passionate about helping my clients find the right home. Listening to there particular needs is important. I believe strongly in figuring want they want and understanding their needs. But a client wouldn't relate to that. It's a constant battle when certain clients requesting apartments that are no fee or just refusing to compensate agent for the work we do.

I was dong bachelor of dental science (BDS) and I cudnt do dat better so I recently discontinued and now I am afraid take a new course becoz my parents had spent a huge amount for me and it was such a loss...I lost 4years of my life and ma age now 22....

I think it depends on product, sometimes follow up is important but I also see your point of view.

The dj rental business is selling to his clients the ultimate party experience. And the USP should be something like guaranteeing the party will be great. If the competition it's just on price I think it's time to change the business model.

Thanks for sharing...I often tell them I don't have to convince you because I like what I sell,I started before year and half, it's not easy but I found people like the colors in my shop but still they r afraid to buy a new product , few r buying though..I found people come to my shop if they saw others but if it's empty rarely people come, but anyone comes to my shop feels good and they tell me that ..

I'm glad I found this video. That makes a ton of sense because I feel like I'm in the rut exactly like the gentleman you talked bout in the video. I'm sitting on a great product line that I developed but its not really moving so I resort to discounts and sales, etc to get people to buy.
I think without even realizing it I had already created a "reason to buy" but I am not pushing it and growing it in that sense so I will now focus on what I had already created as a sense of community within my company and see how the results differ.

I have been formally contracted to help a non profit that I had been working with for a few months. I have assisted several nonprofits in the past. I have access to several great marketing and media resources and placements but business owners for non and for profits are not seeing the value and I am unable to pinpoint the disconnect. I am very motivated by your videos and I immediately subscribed to your channel. My one word is Integrity. My marketing and consulting LLC is titled Integrity's Edge. I have served our country as a combat medic. I continue to serve my communities by hosting countless fundraisers and women and children's programs like the one I am currently trying to grow to a national footprint. The organization helps educate, support, and train women and children to prevent domestic violence, rape, assault, trafficking, bullying, child molestation, cyber child luring. The current concern is I have a suite of solutions to offer EVERY nonprofit and church, everywhere with so much added value and flexibility that I want to offer a one sheet to each organization, but I want to do it correctly, with the highest chance of success. Not to mention, my current non profit client is launching in one United States market and rolling out nationally and eventually internationally. I want to exceed their expectations and save as many lives as we can. I will be offering businesses in the community a marketing partnership with a 501C3 for broadcast, cable, internet commercials, digital signs, events, and fundraisers but I want to close deals and place insertion orders. Every one is giving speeches about how awesome Steve Jobs is and motivating people with a false story of only success. When the truth of the matter is
STEVE JOBS STOLE HIS Computer Idea and recrafted it as an ORIGINAL IDEA
AND He had the low down dirty mentality of knowing if he launched first
He would be seen as the innovator of the technology. He was such a wicked person people only dealt with him because they had to.
He did have hustle but that is the extent of his so called genius he was good at stealing and lying.
The disconnect comes from not having enough money to steal the idea and run with it. People who are motivated by your videos are being deceived with stolen ideas as well. Way to go Steve Jobs fans

They are arrogant, narcissist are unstoppable, disrespectful, cold and empty vessels seeking approval but not willing to do the right thing for it. They are able to pretend the emotions of concern for others.
