Yes there are different landscape in India but actual India is not like this in movie. We all know that most of the india is different than in the movie. Also most of the scene in Bollywood movies and the song they shoot in another country. So it's obvious to think like that as outsider.

Its a hill station.
It has been such a long time and you still can't believe that this place could be in INDIA. Your mind has been stuck in the busy of DELHI and MUMBAI.
India is blessed with such beauty and places.
Edit- During filming, Hrithik Roshan was also shooting three other projects-Na Tum Jaano Na Hum (2002), Mujhse Dosti Karoge! (2002), and Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon (2003).Koi... Mil Gaya took place in Bali, Rajasthan, Bhimtal, Western Europe, Kasauli, Nainital, and New Zealand.

You meant Kasauli, not Kasol, and it's neither of these, as the movie is shot in western europe and newzealand.
Yeah, Some parts of the movie were shot in western europe and abroad but mostly it was shot in Nainital/Bhimtal (Uttarakhand), Bali, Rajasthan.

It is India Rick. It's my hometown Uttrakhand and some scenes were from Himachal Pradesh. All these scenes were shot in places like Nainital, Bhimtal, Kasaul etc

Hrithik home in this movie is in Kasauli. Most of the shooting happen in Kasauli. Kasauli is in Himachal. Kasol is different hill station and it is also in Himachal not in Uttrakhand .Some of the shooting happen in Bhimtal Uttrakhand also.

India has 3000km long snowy Himalaya on its north .. yet people can’t believe that a beautiful hilly area can be India .. not your mistake guys .. it has been planted in your subconscious minds through decades of generic images of old towns of India with orange filters.. yesterday I was watching first season of ‘24’ series .. it shows usa in yellow/orange filter .. I immediately realised the power of filters .. America looks dusty in that series .. just like south asia has been portrayed through filters in films.

Bro...this is India only, yes the songs of the films were shot in Canada, but rest of the film was entirely shot in India. India has got some of the most beautiful hillstations.the story of the movie is situated in Kasauli(Indian hillstation) but in reality, the movie was shot in different hillstations from India. can also check lot of vlogs on RUclips that shows the movies exact locations.

@Korbin This is Nainital, India. There are a lot of beautiful Hill stations in India and they are very clean and well maintained. That's why you were feeling shocked to see the place in this movie.

That scene where Rohit tries to apologise to Nisha in his own way, and gets bullied- always brings tears in my eyes. Hrithik delivered performance of a lifetime as mentally challenged person. The way he changed his body language, mannerism, even his voice modulation, and facial expressions- it was phenomenal. He received multiple Best Actor awards for his performance.
Its been 20 years but we still feel the same fun , emotions and deep love connected to this film ........ Koi Mill Gaya ( 2003 ) , Krissh - 1 (2006),
Krissh - 3 ( 2013 ) now even waiting for Krissh - 4 we all are soo connected with this Krissh franchise ........

Bro there are so many hill station to shoot at 😭. Like so many from Kashmir to Meghalaya. It's a line from North to whole north east. And obviously many scenes were shoot in Switzerland.

The movie songs and some scenes were shot in Canada. Alberta Banff side (Banff lake shown in koi mil gya song). And most conversation scenes were shot in Nainital, India (their home, rohit school is St. Joseph school in Nainital. Nainital lake is also shown). Rakesh Roshan all movies have beautiful locations including Kaho na Pyar hai which was shot in Thailand and New Zealand

I see a lot of ignorant people commenting the all the beautiful places shown in the movie are in India. This is not entirely true. While a lot of the scenes are shot in Himachal and Uttarakhand, India, the songs mostly have been shot in Canada and New Zealand(Banff National Park, Alberta and Drumheller, Alberta, Canada)
Koi mil gya was my first ever movie in theaters. Will surely watch it again this sunday as it is re-releasing.

It’s shot mostly in Bhimtal in the Himalayas. Passed by the ‘house’ many times. It’s a beautiful lake side town.
They are in Nainital, a popular tourist destination in Uttranchal. Movie was also shot in schools like St. Josephs and BVM, schools in Nainital. At that time I was a student there. It has been a little more than 20 years now
This movie is our childhood ❤..I still remember the annual day of my 1st grade where we danced on jaadu song and a kid was also dressed as jaadu 😂..cannot believe it's been 20 years already😌

If you want to visit desert than visit Rajasthan, for snow & hill station visit sikkim, ladakh, shimla, shillong, tawang, masoori, ooti, kashmir or northeast side of India. For sea than visit mumbai, goa etc.

Also -something that may likely not be widespread info- this is something that would have me jumping in front of a camera, if I made videos. You could spread this bit of trivia a little! The first few seconds at the beginning and end of "Idhar Chala Mein Udhar Chala," the song under the rain with a tipsy 'Rohit...' Hrithik's uncle Rajesh, the music composer, used Andean musical instruments: 'zampoña,' 'charango' and 'chajchas,' look those up...
These instruments have such distinctive sounds. I LOVED 💗❤💗 having some kind of representation for Southamerican music. You'll hear those instruments in Ecuadorian, Peruvian & Bolivian music. I'm Bolivian BTW.. 🇧🇴 😊 🇧🇴
