What were the symptoms that showed to know thi a was the problem. Did it have any binding when pushed or does it shut down because of the magnets? Also what do you think caused it?
Sorry, I'm very new to the ebike world.
I would use 2K Araldite® the 24hr stuff.
I have an issue with my bike the wire that gos to the motor spin around how do I fix this
what was the initial problem? did the motor not work? did it make noises?
It made noise
There used to be a Rolls Royce aircraft engine factory near me .The glue they used was incredible for the windings etc. Try and find a good electrical engineering workshop and ask the guys what is best .Nice video Educational.
Superglue will not hold them for long. JB Weld will really be the trick to a permanent solution.
what was the initial fault?
Yea I want to know
@@guze6799 I believe it was the same as mine. At higher throttle the gears/clutch appear to slip so the motor doesn't drive wheel. It is at high torque that the magnets slip. The actual gears are fine
Torque multiplication, which is actually pretty cool as long as it locks up at the highest RPM, but it didn’t, so off it came.
I have just fixed mine (magnets slipping). I used 2ml of epoxy resin in 3 stages over 30 mins using a syringe and ran the motor to force the epoxy against the back of the magnets. I think epoxy is better than super glue.
Awesome
How long do you have the bike? Mine is brand new and not getting pedal assist after one use!
@@Joe-pg4vk pedal assist is controlled by a sensor on the paddles, check make sure the wires are not loose, or the magnet didn't get knocked out by something..., mine worked for 3000 miles when I sold it to get another one
Vegas RoManiac My buddy changed out the shifters because they got chipped and put new cable in but since then she can not use the pedal assist or the shifter. It’s a new bike!
Its not a swifty by any chance, biought one about a year ago just actually got round to using it today after half a mile it stopped working, makes avstrange noise like something rubbing the wheel.
Thank you so much for posting such a helpful video. I have the same issue after about 1K miles or so. I am not sure if I should take all the magnets out and use epoxy, or just try to use the simple method you posted. I will probably end up using your method and go with CA glue. I am guessing the CA glue will last another 1000 miles or so, but worth a try. epoxy seems to be much hassle for now. Thank you.
My motor studder/ hesitation problem was a cheap half twist throttle. Replaced with a throttle and hand grip all in one and mine works perfectly now
🤝🏽
How does the problem sound?
did the superglue hold well?
just done the repair, i'll let you know if it fails
My bike will try to go but then the motor cuts out...I pedal a little and the motor tries again for a few seconds then cuts out again...any help would be appreciated thank you !!
Thanks so much for this upload; couldn't figure why I was getting hub noise on start-up; sure enough the magnets were loose, this was on a Richbit...Hate that name, 250W 36V bike after about 5000km, it'll probably keep happening I guess, how did your repair pan out in the end? Did you have to use any other type of glue after this for example. Cheers.
My bike loses power as soon as it’s going uphill (right when you want it). If you stop and turn the key off and back on the power returns but as soon as you get back in motion it cuts out again. Could this be the magnets need to be reglued?
Did you find out how to fix your bike. I have exactly what you have discribed happening to my bike at the moment . Did you try the trick with the magnets ?
My brother bought a used Hitway split e-bike. We can push the bike forward but the back motor wheel will no rotate backwards. Any idea what might cause this? The hub has p/n GT4875230300566 on it but I can't find anything about it online. I could hear and feel a slight motor noise when advancing the throttle but the wheel just moves backward about 1/4". Riding the bike with no power turned on is fine, but with power on there is no assist, and there is actually a heavy drag as you peddel faster. Is there a way to test the motor windings etc in the hub?
Hey sorry bro like I was just wondering how did you know or what was going on cuz you didn't actually say what the problem was it was you just had to fix it but I don't understand how you could tell her what was going on with the hub motor I'm a noob forgive me
HEllo, what was the symptoms, that you took it apart?
So is this the reason my throttle isnt working , like i press on it and its not moving at all... And the wheel is like locked and it barely moves.
What are the symptoms when goes out?
Hey man, love your videos... You cover all the right stuff.....
However, I think that you have shown this disassembly more than once and each time you have found the nut in the middle of the sprockets to be finger tight. There is a video here on RUclips by Ancheer, demonstrating swapping out the motor internals and in his case, he had to use a wrench to loosen that nut. He also torqued it up when he reassembled it. Just wondering if that could have contributed to your issues (weird noise, loose magnets). I one case you believed that grease made it quieter but maybe it was that your finger-tightening was tighter than before you disassembled?
Furthermore, I prefer the way the Ancheer tech fully disconnected the cable from the controller box.... I'm an electrician and stressed wiring makes me cringe...LOL.
Hope to order my Ancheer next week...Please keep up the good work. You are one of the few RUclips presenters who doesn't bore me with wasted words 🤚
Edit: Gonna strip mine down before I even think of riding it. Just read on a forum where the motor manufacturers recommend Mobil grease 28.
Even toying with the idea of sticking another 250w motor on the front, for those occasions where I care more about pulling power than range. We'll see.
Nope, the nut had no issue with that, magnets were not glue we'd on, the super glue held them in place forever. Still work today
Vegas RoManiac....Hmmm, it doesn't feel right to me. I have lived, slept and breathed servo motion control for 35+ years, from fractional hp to 100+ hp and to me, finger-tight = loose. Lot of stress in that area of this machine and you definitely have not babied it....LOL.
This is also very encouraging for me because I would normally run away from "plastic" gears but they seem to last well.
Anyone interested in longevity/reliability, however might want to refrain from all-electric standing starts as this puts way more stress on the gears than when the bike is already moving or when the rider is assisting. I don't intend to punish mine but it's gonna be hard for this ex-motocrosser...LOL. I had the predecessor to the YZ450F, it was the YZ426F 😎👍
Edit: I understand about the loose magnets but I am speculating about the actual cause of the hub motor issues.
@@AdaptivePhenix I think you underestimated for 35 years with how much you can get away with... This cheap bike has like 3000 miles like that..
So, a bit late.. how did the mobil grease 28 work out for you? Or is lithium grease better for the gears in the hub motor.
Can you give the link of the ancheer video
My mate when out on my folding evoke came back but now all powers up with lights but no go. Help
When I saw the tube of superglue I was thinking that wont hold for long...
Nice i subscribed may i ask wen i needed you please
What are the symptoms the bike was having with this particular fix? My issue with my ancheer is……. The electric system completely shuts off when I try to put any bit of stress on the motor. For example: I can lift the back tire up and initiate the manual drive function with the throttle on the handlebar. And the wheel spins and the electricity stays on. But when I try to actually use the throttle or peddle assist while I’m riding on the bike…. It instantly shuts off. Does anyone else know this problem? How can I fix it maybe? I’ve checked the batteries and they all seem to in great condition with volt meter readings. I’m assuming it’s something to do with circuit boards or pinched wiring maybe.
That's a battery problem, the battery is worn, or had bad cells and the bms shuts off the battery, in my opinion
I have another problem, I was wondering if you can help me with my ebike. It's a snugger from ridel. I recently had a crash with it, I manage to change the motor and bypassed the PAS(I pretty much have it disconnected) because of the Error 30. I manage to get rid of the Error 30 but now the motor won't go with the throttle. I know the throttle works because I used it on a different bike and it works fine. The walk assist works perfectly but now my issue is the motor won't run when I press the throttle. I'm pretty sure the electrical side of the bike is perfect and works. Would it a mechanical issue or something? Any ideas would help me out so much! thank you!!!
What if the motor hub doesn't come on at all ? Is this video about a noisy hub ?
I have a small electric bike that is brand new that will not turn on unless it is hooked up to the charger. When I have it plugged in it will turn on and it shows a full battery and horn honks but no throttle. When unplugged nothing will turn on. Totally dead. Any advice??
Did the glue hold up over a year? Any improvement after gluing it?
Just curious. What were the bike's symptoms that made you inspect the magnets?

Scraping, and rattleing noise loss of power"
@@FloppyMusher does the power cut out or does t it get weaker?
Mine drives ok on level 1 but when I turn on fastest level whitch is 3 in my case the motor making weird noise
mine lost power slowly then cut out completly at about 500 miles.. have to try this!
i hear a meatal scraping noise from mine when i engage the motor
Good video but I think you moved through it too fast. You had time left over so how about slowing down next time.
As a note, you should be able to go to options and slow video down to 75% speed , he will talk slower. I do this on many tutorial videos and it helps. Cheers
Hi, my ancheer bike, after fully charging it, on level 1 peddle assist it rides for around 20 minutes. Butnon level 2 and 3 it only rides for 2 3 minutes and cuts off... if i press the assist module on button, it doesnt turn on. Ibhave to disconnect the battery and connect it again. Then turn it on and it turns on. But still same problems, cuts out. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be???
Battery problem. The bms curs off power because one of the cells it's weak
@@vegasromaniac ahhhh, look like il need to buy a new battery! Many thanks!
Should of showed the symptoms of this isue while on the bicycle before the repair ,well mine is making noise when I throttle and cuts out ,bit when I'm not on the bicycle ,on the stand ,it works fine ,I wonder is mine issue same, thanks
Was making a wratling noise
@@vegasromaniac the noise is not like something lose but like as if something with currant ,loud and nasty sound
When I throttle on speed one it's no problem but when I turn on speed 2 or 3 and start to move throttle than it cuts out following the noise and it sounds like it's comming from both controller and motor like some cert of vibration ,also when this happens the controller doesn't shut of it stays on all I need to do to stop noise is to let go of throttle ,also sometimes if I throttle on speed 3 and throttle slowly than after 15 km/h I can full throttle and noise is gone bit only for short time like a minute ,sorry for my spelling
Is there a follow-up video of this repair just wondering if it worked or not I'm having the same issue
Wiring problems
I didn't quite understand what was the problem at the first place. How do you diagnose a problem due loose magnets? I have a vibration on my bike from the motor once in a while, is it possible there are also loose magnets?
Thanks, this has saved me a whole head f--k trying to work out whats going on. nearly bought new planetery gears and clutch, then ordered complete 500w motor instead. now i can repair my 250w and hopefully keep the rest of the fleet on the road. Subscribed
Thank you so much I need to get in my motor and service it and I was about to remove the gears with that special socket . Saved me a lot of headaches.
Awesome
That aint no heavy bike
I would of used something better then super glue which is not very well suited for this type of application being that super glue or even crazy glue. #1 it does not fill gaps very well. #2 it is not very heat tolerant. #3 Even a slight bump or vibration causes it to break its bond. #4 if it gets wet with water and soaks for a while it actually will dissolve and lose its bond.
Tho it is better of a fix then nothing. but when you have to redo it next year or in a few months. What I would do would be to remove the center of the motor leaving just the magnets. then use some acetone or even rubbing alc on a rag to clean out any grease off the inside of the ring of magnets. then get your self a tube of some thin high-heat epoxy such as Permatex 500-Degree High Heat Epoxy or JB weld High Heat Epoxy in the double Syringe
mix up a batch and use something like a pop cycle stick or a small tiny paintbrush to get the epoxy in the gaps between the magnets and a few dots of it on the top edge like you did with the super glue. then use a rag with acetone to wipe the faces of the magnets off before the epoxy sets to make sure you don't have any high spots or sags that would interfere with the shaft spinning. Tho if you get a thin coating on the faces of the magnets as long as its thin and don't cause any rubbing is ok. alternatively, you can also use clear enamel nail polish instead of epoxy. PS that also works on the copper windings to cover any nicks in the wires clear insulation coating
ANCHEER TECH SUPPORT SUCKS!!! Mine is fully charged but it only runs for few seconds and it dies I have to disconnect the battery to turn in back on for another few seconds. Lights and horn works even the system dies. Is there any fix for that please?
That's a clear sign of a bad cell in the battery, the bms stops giving power out as soon as one of the cells voltage drops under 2.7 v..
@@vegasromaniac Thanks. I just bought the upgraded battery (HRD-ZN-BW-0) with yellow jack, but my existing cable has a red jack (square) and it doesn't fit. Do you know where can I buy the power cable with the yellow plug?
@@vegasromaniac
It works great now. Thanks to you. I thought it was the speed controller issue. I noticed another issue though, the throttle only doesn't work, only the pedal assist. What should I check to troubleshoot it?
I am needing a cover for the hub motor for my bike, does anyone know how to get parts for this bike?
I would also like to know a parts source. I did see a phone number listed on amazon on the ancheer ebike sales ad but have not tried to call it yet. Let me know if you do find a source. Not needing parts now but like anything I will in the future.
do you know if we can buy a new battery to replace the previous? if we can??
Hello any ideas on how to fix the frame socket where the wheel goes into the frame ,( the motor has the 2 parts where the nuts right into the frame and has a flat groove on both sides on my bike the socket on the frame is no longer holding the flat sides of the motor it keeps spinning on one side and the cable on the other side is spinning so it got damaged but still works the problem is the frame socket is not holding the axis of the motor) I'm thinking of putting a piece of metal on one side of the socket and to hold it the ideal way would be soldering but I don't have the welder so epoxy? Then file the hole if the axis don't fit? I guess it happened because I didn't tight the wheel enough and is an old bike
It worked? How long did it last? What can I use to keep the distance between the magnets right? Have a position?
I have over 3,500 miles on my 48v 500w Ancheer Hummer with a 52v Battery and have no issues at all.
You can totally just unplug the motor wires from the controller and move the wheel wherever you need to.....
Just ordered the model up. Am I going to need a full time mechanic?
Yes, because Ancheer is horrible when you go out of warranty
I turned my bike on anchor e bike and the assist button also have done this for 10 monrhs now but when push throttle down to move it doesn't move I checked the motor to see if I hear It clicking and yes t b e motor is making noise when I push throttle but no move ent
can anyone tell me what causes this because i have it too but i only have my bike for 6 months and it happend after getting a new back tire after it flattend
You didnt show what the problem was
Rattling noise
Hi. Please I would like to ask you if the macwhell wrangler 600 have the same think to do because I have the bad Hube.
Do you think a Vanmoof S3 has more or less the same motor? I think it does. Either way, your video is quite educational and informative, thanks a lot.
Is this why my ebike doesn't have power and it shows error 03 on screen?
Error 03 most likely it's a hall sensor error , search the error code for your brand
@@vegasromaniac it wrote there info 03 and motor no power that is hall sensor error?
What was the symptom of the hub motor failure? Could you hear a loud scraping sound from the hub? I have the same bike and I have the same loose magnet condition. I am going to rebond them similar to your solution but I am interested in your failure mode.
Scraping, and rattleing noise loss of power
yes scraping and you feel something is slipping, but stops once you're cruising
@@markbuxton2368 Same as mine but fixed it with this method. Check your magnets if its loose also and glue it.
Thank you so much for posting. Can you tell me the name of the place where you actually purchased cable. Thank you so much
Why did you not explain just what the problem was with the motor before you fixed it?
Oh yeah!
Great video. thanks for sharing. I haven't used my electric bike much but feel better that if there is a problem I can address it even if it is the motor.
Great video. My ebike front hub just died and it is a different design, but I bet it is a loose magnet. I hope to fix it with some JB Weld.
Jb weld is better Than duct tape.
were you able to fix it?
Hi i have a Rich bit geared rear motor. And it says it requires a gear oil change. Please can you tell me what oil to youse. Many thanks
What!?
but what was the problem in the first case?
Hi my ebike brand new and faulty wheel runs s free till either the phase wires touch whilst no power connected when power is connected wheel wont turn like its jammed thank you if you can help

I feel like this is my bike problem as sometimes i hear them move so when i get home i will try this to see if it works.
Old desine hero cycle hub motor installed not made why
I bought a Ancheer 26” 250w commuting bike and it has been sitting in my garage new for a month with dead motor. I took it to repair shop they said you can’t get parts. The seller Zaplue won’t help and I can’t reach Ancheer they don’t answer. What should I do.?
Cut your losses and get something better. Every single part of those bikes is garbage. If you replace one part, you still have the rest of it to deal with.
Hi guy! Thank you very much for your video, it’s very helpful!🤗
Do you know how to change axle. Bolt is threaded thanks
What tool to take out the bolts on the motor cover?
The problem is the hub motor spins but the tire wont if very little pls help

What is wrong in that,,
er fixed it !! anyone got an english instruction manual mine is in english but written by chinese useless very limited and didnt do chinese in school thanks to watching this video sorted even though not subject covered thanks
Thanks, what was the problem that you notice? Any noice or motor weak or?
MY 1000w gearless cyclotricity hub is making a lot of noise, the power goes right down also, it could be lose magnets but I am betting the gearing is stripped, it vibrates right through the frame. I cant imagine superglue working for long, it is very brittle?, hope it works for you
Worked till the day I sold it...
I own a Ancheer bike and love it I Can't find replacement parts for it
I bought it used and know it will need brakes or something??????
The parts are all Chinese z go on eBay, you will find most of the stuff there z just a bit harder to match
I have a new bike got one ride on it and now have no power for pedal assist. It shows 4 bars and light and horn work. Got this for my wife for retirement. It was shipped from China and I have problems with contacting them at all. Very Frustrating! Help
Check all connections in the black controller box under the saddle are secure. Check the sensor on the pedal hub is not damaged (or any of the wiring). Especially check the brake levers are not bent or out of position and the sensors on the levers are properly connected. If the controller thinks one of the brakes levers is pulled, the motor will not run.
Qualcuno mi può aiutare vorrei vedere un video come si cambia le pastiglie della bici ancheer non trovo i pezzi di ricambio
Check the other axel bearings also. The wheel will be done. The amount of grease the factory puts in bearings on the entire bike is very little.
Yeah thays true
4:26 the wheel stops so suddenly it’s like no grease at all.
Hey, I'm have trouble putting back on the gears back on. Any ideas?
It's a just a basic bicycle gear mechanism, not sure what could go wrong. If they don't align, maybe you put a washer instead of outside inside ..
There's another liquid that almost looks like copper I seen one guy put on his and his never got hot and I guess it's holding it together as well
True
i had to get a new motor still bot here yet i got a ancheer ebike but not this one my bike black and white the motor gear eat up in toke care of it buy still love the bike
i have no lights on the display on my Ancheer battery is fully charged any ideas how to fix this i have checked the controller no wires are disconnected
Hey man keep up the good videos. Can anyone point me in the right direction, I've got a mid drive motor on my bike. Everything works, I lift my back wheel up and it spins perfectly, but when I sit on the bike the motor just shudders and doesn't have the strength to drive forward. Any ideas??? Does it sound like it's the clutch?? Thanks
No clutch maybe something wrong with the electronics, these motors have all kind of sensors
Fixed my 350w. Exactly as shown.
Hello what is the problem exactly in this motor hub?
Sorry I don t understand english
Magnets came loose
Was that causing the error 24 code
Hey brother, how you doing?
I wanted to ask a question.
I have a 52v 1000w rear wheel motor Chinese conversion kit, and recently got hir by a car.
The impact split my tyre, and also the rear wheel power cable slightly.
It worked fine for a few days, but then died on me.
Thw strange thing is, the rear wheel will sometimes begin to spin when I hit the thumb throttle, but then cuts out again.
The pedal assist feature also works intermittently.
The thumb throttle power indicator lights up, so I know the battery and some electrics are OK, but why won't my wheel spin and maintain power?
It's my first ebike, and 9m not particularly good with electronics, so I wanted to ask you guys what the problem may be?
That is strange.. Quite a complex issue. Don't know what to say man, if all wires are OK, and there are no loose connections, maybe something is loose in the hub motor, a sensor
Very helpful. Thanks
T Y for this video ,,, what do you think caused the wound copper wires to discolor viewed in the video ? Could the motor have over heated discoloring the 3 copper wire coils , and that heat melt the magnet glue bond ? I read that the super glue will melt / debond at 100o C . Also that a water based glue can take the heat better , even silicone glue can take the heat better , too . So BTW how is the Super Glue holding up ?
Why is your rear brake on the left?
Men bicycles have it on the left girls on the right
@@vegasromaniac never heard of that. I'm guessing you custom built yours yourself? Are you lefty? Do you ride on left side of road in your country? Lol
For wheelies, you need your rear brake in the opposite side of your thumb throttle, just one example.
