Their First Date Was Canoeing and a Picnic | Gloriosa & Co. Wedding in the Berkshires

Jess + Emily’s film is our first since adding story sessions as a foundational part of our filmmaking process. The way their story session has allowed us to shape their teaser into something that transcends just their wedding day alone is something so meaningful and exciting for us. Having story rich moments of the two of them from earlier this year made their vows so much more impactful. It allowed us to really showcase their relationship as a whole - the little moments that meant a lot to them and the big moments that defined them. Story sessions allowed us to get to know them better and helped us tell their story more fully. Because relationships are not defined by a wedding day alone, but by the journey that leads us there. As we put this together, we drew on our own feelings of nostalgia and sentimentality and what it feels like to find the person that makes you feel like you’re home.
J+ E’s love feels like a gorgeous indie film; like a Greta Gerwig A24 film about steady and sure love set against a Louisa May Alcott version of New England. All through their wedding planning process, one word kept coming to the forefront: intention. There was so much intention in everything they did to bring their day together. With such beautiful story elements, we wanted J + E to be the authors of this story. Because they tell it best and we love watching their love. It’s a warm and inviting love - one that feels like there’s never been a time before it. We wanted their voices and emotions to shine through and let the visuals softly and intimately carry you along.
